Funny. None of my half century of exploration found any music.

Pretty damn heroic if you ask me! Thanks for sharing these amazing experiences with those of us who lack the guts to go through the hardships and risks and who, like me, have far too much gut to get through those squeezes!

Did the main drop in Gaping Gill on a four bar rack - out via Bar Pot and out that route in early 1980s - there’s evidently been some positive improvements since I did that trip - and I can remember some of those pitches like it was yesterday - thanks for sharing.

Crippens that was a long day and quite the adventure. 12 hours caving if I recall correctly. I stashed a beer by the ofd2 entrance on the way in and enjoyed it in the dark on the way down the hill afterwards. Good times.

Nice video I appreciate it very much. For some reason the editing only allowed each shot to last about 2-3 seconds which was a little bit jarring. Also I’m wondering was this really a cave? Or was it moreso that you mined out a path in a porous area

Great video and so good to see this again, I did this as a student in the early 80s and it's been just a memory till I saw this!

Wow 😮 If it’s the same John Gunn (Ben Gunn as we called him), then I was one of the Didsbury/PDHS/Magpie lot who caved with him in the early 1970s. I think it was 1973 that we first went into Water Icicle Mine. I have some photos of him and Ady Pearce in there and at Waterfall Swallet, a lot of memories 😀

Enjoyed my first trip into Peak Cavern this weekend just gone. We got to Ink Sump, and that clear water was very enticing. What an incredible amount of time effort and perseverance making this happen. Thank you for sharing!

Beautifully made and very informative video. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. I just spent the day exploring this remarkable cave system with my father and brother. The mainstream was indeed entering as a thundering torrent today like you mentioned. As we approached, we could feel the winds and hear it cascading down long before we could see it. Next time we would love to explore the muddy link passage! Have you explored this yet? Cheers, Troy :)

Have you ever considered visiting White Scar Caves? The showcave is massive, but nearby there are many lesser caves you can visit closed for the public, accessible from ground level. Really enjoyed it as a kid.

Excellent job. And the quality of the video underground is brilliant. I'm ashamed to say I managed to lose the Llethridd key one bank holiday weekend in the early 90's. My friend and I were locked in the cave for about 4 hours with the water level rising quickly, , eventually finding the key in the streamway directly below the entrance ruckle. It must've slipped out of my inner velcro'd pocket as I leaned over the boulders, looking for a way down the entrance ruckle. It was a scary experience, as we both knew the cave flooded completely to the roof. We didn't actually make it to the decorated chambers, as we were the first in after a stormy winter and there were many blocked sections, requiring effort to open up. But I did get to the decorations on a later trip.

Leviathan wasn't accessible when I was there in the 1970s but the Peak Cavern link was pioneered by us - to the disgust of the Harrison family as we didn't have permission, it was a bit of late night guerrilla caving 😂😂🤣

Amazing film, Sid Perou must be happy that his legacy is safe in the hands of new generations of pot holers. I laughed out loud when that chap in the boulder choke started playing human kerplunk by pulling out stones. You folks are crazy! Subbed.
