Instructional and showcase style videos on RC planes, FPV quads, and everything in between. Hopefully with an eventual focus on Ardupilot and VTOL. Inspired by people like Painless360 and RCTestFlight to start making videos about this stuff :)
hey when the aircraft is in our hand and in takeoff mode, the motor runs. however, when switching to other modes, the motor stops. When we try to start directly in loiter mode or other modes, the motor doesn’t run at all. sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. do you have any idea
HI! i just ordered this radio as im planing on learning how to fly fpv and i've heard a lot of good things about this radio. TBH im leaning more towards fpv drones but might learn fixed wing as well, i got a question about the radio... I've heard the gimbals are really small in this radio and i expect slight less control over the drone compared to full size gimbals but it is really that much of a difference? or the gimbals size is perfectly fine for freestyle and stuff like that
awesome! yeah I hope you like the radio, I've been enjoying it a lot. So it is definitely a bit smaller than full size gimbals, but tbh I feel like after getting used to it, you can have the same amount of control as larger gimbals. Especially for thumbers I think it's nice. I've actually been using it more for my fpv drone and I find that it works great for that. Cheers!
Hi, Its one of the best VTOL conversion I have seen ever. I am also planning to turn my nano talon into VTOL. Would you like to share FC parameters file (Ardupilot), So that I can convert my Talon in VTOL safely. Thanks in advance...!!!
when i get into properties it shows me just a button and doesn't respond to any command, i'ts so frustrating seeing others just P&Play that easy... i swear i don't have any problems with drivers or so. can someone help me please (usb connection)
Hey dude! Thank you for the video! One question - how do you switch to the first person view in PicaSim? I tried all the buttons on the keyboard, but none of them did that.
Hi thanks for the comment! and sorry for the late reply. Changing camera angles is with the 'C' keyboard key, but I think you might be in one of the non-3d maps, where it's just a panoramic background. Because those don't let you change the camera view. Switch to one of the 3d maps and see if it works
Hi, can you make a video about setting up a PWM RX with Radiomaster Pocket? I recently got a Radiiomaster Pocket and also an ELRS RX, and I'm unable to set it up. any help regarding it will really solve a lot of issues. Mainly im confused with what should be the input and mixes settings regarding channel 5 and how to set it to a switch ?
Thanks for the comment, I actually recently got the PWM so I can definitely make a video on it soon. For now try seeing if Painless360 or anybody else has videos on the pwm receivers?
Hi recently subscribed to your channel after your Radiomaster Pocket video. Good content. Can you show more of how you are setting up the plane before flying
yeah it's definitely a simpler implementation with this "4+1" setup, but results in a decent amount of "useless weight" when in forward flight. I would like to try out the tilting setups with a larger plane at some point
Motion blur is one thing - as the name suggests, it is motion blur and not shaky frames due to vibrations and long shutter speed. You should strive to eliminate camera vibrations and not extend the exposure time,
nah dude nahhhhh, first of all this video exist 100 times on yt no reason for the next HOW TO bla bla, the real problem is your quad its so insane off maybe fix that before
That's a fair point. It started off as just a compilation flying vlog but I wanted to include some commentary about things I learned and notice, true that there are a lot of other videos that explain it better. It was mainly a secondary thing. And true that you should make your quad fly well first, I was mainly focusing on the camera side of things.
Thank you so much for this video. I was starting to get a bit frustrated for having to pay after some point for Clear View and any other RC simulator out there. I am a cheapskate and wanted to spend exactly $0 for a flight simulator software :D. I use a FlySky FS-i6X transmitter btw, and the cable that comes with it works perfectly fine with PicaSim.
Thank you! Yeah this was my intention. I'll eventually make more videos walking through connecting your first plane, and then even flying with flight controllers!
That looked really good. I just did a first auto take off with one of my planes too. It works surprisingly well. its a little scary to toss that thing with no controls at first lol
yeah i've been thinking about switching, i played with elrs a bit casually before but found the firmware updating to be a bit more cumbersome than crossfire, at least at the time. definitely willing to give it a second try though! thanks for the comment
Thanks for sharing this video. Quick question - you mentioned after it armed (by shaking it) - how did you disarm it at 3:07 if the disarm switch didn't work?
Great demo. Like the VTOL "to the moon, and beyond" climb out. (2:40) Thanks for including the build details. ♥👍 Can you include an AUW in the description? As curious, to how compares to typical wing build. Wing loading doesn't appear too high as fly's quite well, and as you mention hovers at 20% throttle. Nice work getting all the pieces assembled and working well together.
Yeah I'll try to get a weight within a couple days, I recently got into another crash trying to do a flip in hover mode haha. I will say it is quite heavy just cause of the additional vtol hardware, and the wiring and such is not exactly optimized, so it needs to fly decently fast to maintain altitude. Thanks for the comment!
yeah i'll add the links for the parts i got from thingiverse (in the description), for the custom ones I made, i'll try to have them uploaded within the week. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for the video, didn't even know that was a thing! Do you think it would also work the other way around? By that I mean using your internal module to bind to the receiver and an external multiprotocol module to connect to the FS-i6? I'm trying to teach my girlfriends little brother flying, have an old FS-i6 lying around and currently have a FrSky X-Lite Pro as my main transmitter.
I think it's likely that it would be possible, do you have an external multiprotocol that you can try that on? because I don't. Thanks for the comment!
Very informative. Will include this in all my new setups from now, and use it for temporary modes like auto tune. Easier to make ad hoc changes via a separate channel than having to reconfigure the whole two switch mode channel layout, voice prompts and all.
