Democracy at Work is a non-profit 501(c)3 that produces media and live events. Our work analyzes capitalism critically as a systemic problem and advocates for democratizing workplaces as part of a systemic solution. We seek a stronger, fuller democracy - in our politics and culture as well as in our economy - based on workers’ equal collaboration and shared leadership inside enterprises and throughout society.
It's totally wrong. There are zionists and israelies that are against Israeli policy now. If someone against zionizm you antisemitic, cos you against the right of jews to have a state in their homeland
One moral take from this is read every book that is banned. Read them because they present knowledge that is kept hidden to avoid turning you into a rational thinking human being
This is profoundly idiotic. The switching cost of goimg from job to job is trivial compared to being saddled with debt for decades. If the job is hyper-specialized, you get paid more for the same level of skill
JfC! Macroeconomic illiteracy galore by our good professor. Sovereign issuer countries do not borrow for gvmt spending payable in USD. Our taxes do NOT fund federal spending! We don’t need rich to fund any federal programs. They should be taxed out of existence for societal equity and justice, but definitely NOT to fund programs. #LearnMMT
The only way to fix anything in #Capitalism is to boycot the product, when sales start falling #Capitalist change. The Indians were forced to incur a heavy salt tax charged by British Colonial empire sellers, especially since salt was a staple in their diet. To protest this law, Gandhi declared resistance to the Salt Act and started a campaign of mass civil disobedience, or 'satyagraha'. Gandhi's act defied a law of the British ruling colonial empire mandating that Indians buy salt from the government and prohibiting them from collecting their own.
A world of Dictators will be the future! China secured by Russia and the new slavery! Israel and the Jewish people brought to the World what they started 1917! So sad!
This is very misleading. Housing shortage is not simply a rent price to demand. The cost of construction is through the roof. Additionally town make it nearly impossible to build new construction this forces new developments to be high priced.
Minimum wage did not end poverty nor was it ever meant to do so. Opposing it has nothing to do with being against efforts to reduce poverty. Businesses have raised wages over time due to supply and demand which is how capitalism functions. Again this lowers poverty because in the real world wages went up and not down. Social Security also isn’t solving poverty. You’re a pathetic liar
Extremely important and informative podcast on the history of the nuclear family - an institution that was, as Dr. Fraud points out at junctures in her presentation, entirely artificial and completely without sanctity in the most generous application of that noun. She very nicely ties in the effect of the American variant of capitalism on child-rearing without attacking the minority of competent parents who choose to rise their own offspring and have the necessary economic resources to do so. The future of the nuclear family is clearly past. Nice use of Soviet and UN experience with child care that has, as she rightly say, been suppressed. Bravo, Harriet.
A political system that fail the people is useless. Democracy exists in some form in USA but homelessness abounds, illegal immigration overwhelms, racism prevails, crimes is everywhere, gun violence is accepted though frowned upon, corporate Americariles, people living from paycheck to paycheck. Who wants such democracy? Give me Chinese socialism anytime. It has lifted 100s of millions out of poverty. True freedom: freedom to have a house, freedom to have clothing, freedom to have food.
Why are we letting half the world walk across our Southern border what we're going to wake up in 10 years and go oh s*** and then try to clean it up no Israel's just trying to keep their self safe
This was general. More important question is, is there a fix when US could no longer sell more treasuries? US does not have enough gold to buy back the surplus USD, that others no longer need, to say cancel those USD as US had printed too much.
Thank you so very much Professor for your so objective and impartial assessment about China. It is so good to hear that in the sea of fake news, subjectivity, and lies from the Western world. Being french and living in HK for 32 years, I saw first hand all what you described and explained so well. Btw having worked for a US multinational co. for 10 years, I saw in 1999 my company machines and know how transferred from Missouri and Chicago to south China fties, and this was organised by Americans to lower their costs and feed the Walmarts etc... In short when USA today complains about the so called unfair competition from China, it is too quickly forgetting that it was fully organized by Americans themselves back to 90's.. LOL
I agree with you. America cannot complain. Now downstream supply chains, like foxconn, is moving out of China to India or Vietnam. China does not complain. Supply chains tend to move to low labor cost countries. This is an economic law and has nothing to do with politics
