Actually, Rev. Piper's testimony could be my testimony and I am an Assemblies of God ordained minister who believes in libertarian free will, that Jesus died for everyone, and that we can walk away from being a follower of Jesus if we so desire. I made a decision to follow Jesus at a very young age. I have tried to know Him and follow Him as best as i can. I have tried to live a holy life as best as I can. I have sought God's guidance in every major decision I have ever made. I have walked through every door that the Lord has opened up for me. I feel like I have not planned my life but that God has planned it, not because God determined everything in advance but I have tried to live as close to God as I could and have tried to follow His will as I understood it. I am not perfect and have made many mistakes, but God has been gracious to me and redeemed my mistakes as I have sought Him. The details of my testimony are very different from Reverend Piper's. But God has planned my life because I've asked Him to do it and followed Him as best I could.
Pussy footing around isn’t a bad way of saying something. It means to walk lightly like a cat. Many people still say that. I get what you are saying, however when someone says it in that context no one would bat an eye.
Me again, having eaten of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil could mean human beings left God's absolute morality behind and adopted a more relative sense of morality, which is rampant today and in the past. Salvation sets us up to accept God's moral absolutism and to leave moral relativism behind.

Calvinism vs. common sense and moral justice ? Could someone on the predestined, self anointed "elect" side with some semblance of intelligence and free will, please enlighten me:- How could any parent, let alone the all loving God of John 3:16 not love the whole world but wants many of his children to perish . Apparently some 16 th century diety (psychopathic monster?) decreed with himself to manipulate and execute the fall of Adam and Eve and many of their Descendants to some horrible eternal fate. Without freewill, no one could logically be held morally accountable if they were unable to choose between good and evil? Such a perverse act of creating us, not as equals but puppets according to John Calvin is supposed to bring such a diety gratuitous pleasure. According to informed (re)formers like JW and JM " buts it's all a mystery".

I didn’t notice it in the past when I used to watch the dividing line on a more regular basis, but now I noticed how James White loves to poison the well it’s his go to move. Before he even engages with anyone’s argument He makes sure to paint his opposition with the worst of intentions.
Jesus is able to save completely those who draw near to God through him... JW version: Jesus is able to save completely IN AND OF HIMSELF. He's changing the topic. Jesus saves completely. No one has the final decision but God. But it is given to those who draw near.
Cambridge made a MASSIVE mistake with this Bible. OT quotes in Mark are italicized (only when Jesus quotes them btw). The other 3 gospels do NOT italicize OT quotes at all. How on earth did this get past the designers and proofreaders???
I agree with you that regeneration and election are conspicuously abcent in the gospel of John, but it may be understood that we hear and learn from Gods word that is the enabling power to come to Him
Did you intentionally omit John6:65 where Jesus says "for this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted jom from the father" The word can implies ability, to be able, and the words no one is universal meaning everyone. So unless God enables us through His gifts of repentance and faith we will remain enslaved to our sin nature that only God can change through regeneration, the holy spirit operating on our hearts. changing our nature, renewing our minds enabling us to seek the things of the spirit, and His kingdom. Jesus reinforces this condition of salvation when He says that except you be born of the spirit. not just water baptism you are not able to even see let alone enter into His kingdom. These words of Jesus are profound and cannot be dismissed lightly.
James arguments are poor. The structure of the videos was clear and easy to methodically follow. What really is going on is that James has no answer and cannot refute the clear refutation of Calvinism. One note which needs to be said, Calvinism is a doctrine of Demons and needs to be called out as such. If this be true it explains the fervour of its followers and the directives of the dark spiritual realm
I'm struggling to understand your points about Hebrews 7 in your response after JWhite. I wish you would have walked through how it is important that it is directed to the Jews. I feel like your comments like "This is so important!" distract me from your defense if your point.
Heb 7:25. About Israel’s salvation. “And so all Israel shall be saved” Rom 11:26 - the congruency with what you see in Romans. Hebrews is filled with Jewish language - priests, priesthood, Levitical priesthood, covenant. This would have meant nothing to Gentiles. It’s believed that Paul penned Hebrews in the late 60s, as a last call to the Jews before their kingdom offer ended, before God destroyed Jerusalem and their temple, a last call to believe on Jesus as Messiah and receive Him as their King. Sadly, they did not. Well done!
The phrase “rightly dividing” is fascinating. The Greek “orthotomeo” is “to make a straight cut.” I believe this refers to dividing what was to Israel and what is to the body of Christ. The versions that say things like “accurately handling” are opinion-based and do not at all reflect the Greek.
Acts 13:48 The Greek for “ordained” simply means “ordered,” as you point out, “set thinking straight,” “put mind in order.” They had their thinking properly arranged or ordered to the matter of eternal life. And who was doing the ordering? Paul.
Don’t miss that Gal 1:8 & 9 say “unto you” twice. There was only one good news to be preached *unto the Galatians* and that was Paul’s good news of salvation by grace through faith alone, NOT of works, as opposed to the Jews who had been under justification by works (Rom 2:13; Jam 2:24). The Galatians were not Jews; they were not under the law as the Jews were at the time of Paul’s writings. Up to AD 70, Israel needed to be obedient to the law not for eternal life, but for entrance into their kingdom. But they didn’t receive their King, so God destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. So, today there is only one good news “gospel:” Eph 2:8-9. But in the Bible, there are several: 1. Good news “gospel” of the kingdom for Israel which was preached by John the Baptist, Jesus, Peter and his 11. This message was, “Believe Jesus is our Messiah. Repent, be baptized, obey His commands, follow the law so our earthly kingdom will come.” Works required. The prophets foretold of this one. 2. Ours: “Believe on Jesus as your Savior for eternal life.” No works, faith alone. Jesus gave it directly to Paul only. It was not foretold, but was hid in God until Jesus revealed it to Paul. 3. “Everlasting gospel” in Rev 14:6. “Messiah/Jesus is taking His throne. Fear and worship God, give Him glory, judgment is imminent.” Each of these is distinct.
Pertaining to chapter 11 verses 26-27, are you concluding that all of ethnic Israel will become born-again believers? If so, how do you explain this outside of a Calvinistic perspective? Thanks for your content...very helpful!
I personally dont know how anyone can hold to limited atonement. There are over 25 verses in the New Testament that say that Christ died for ALL. There’s no contradiction in scripture because it is God’s holy word, so when something is communicated clearly over 25 times, you’d think people would be able to see their worldview contradicts it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just letting you know that 1 Peter’s audience is exclusive to the Jews. The called always is a reference to the Jewish remnant. Gentiles are grafted in. But Jews are the ones who this letter is intended for. Yes, there is an application for Gentiles from first Peter and principles that we can use in our life today. Secondly, Augustine is the main one to blame, Calvin just followed Augustine. Doing research on church history you learn what Augustine did to bring doctrines of demons into the church. The false teachers that 1 Peter warns against (among others) is what Augustine brought in.
You just don't understand the loving doctrine all Calvinists believe. Let me explain in this accurate representational Calvinist bed time story! Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases. Calvinism is the Devil's gospel
