For product inquiries contact me at - miillersconstruction@gmail.com - The purpose of this channel is to provide viewers a detailed perspective of how we perform various tasks on our jobsites. We are experienced carpenters that do a little bit of everything including new construction, remodeling, siding, windows, doors, trim, painting and much more. My goal is to provide very specific details in our videos throughout various projects. We also like tools. Lots of tools...
How much did you charge for that job. I know this has been up for a while but I'm trying to get a bathroom shower stall installed and the contractors near me have high estimates. I'd love to know that answer. How much? And that's me buying all the items needed to do the job.
Wtf is this? Firstly cutting a truss is one of the greatest construction sins you can commit. This is like denouncing a Jaywalker while axe murdering someone. Second, what kind of lousy staples are being used? I need a crowbar to get my stapled plywood loose.
I believe the light comes off the tripod too? I have the m18 tower light. It chews through batteries like there's no tomorrow. The advertised run time is not accurate. I see Flex has a little examination light that is 1000 lumens for a handheld. I keep looking for it at lowes but nothing yet.
@@unclefester4626 yes it comes off and we use it like that all the time as well. Has a couple nice hooks for hanging it. I also have that handheld light your talking about. Just used it today actually. I keep it in my truck. Absolutely love it!
@@miillersconstruction its a jest. When someone is rude you get back at them by referring them to bible thumpers like the jehovah's witnesses. It was my way of saying "hey...be nice" to that guy. It's sad to see a youtuber post new content only to be chewed out by an internet commando.
I designed and engineered trusses for 25 years and I can't believe how many times I had to engineer repairs for all the idiot plumbers, electricians, and heating and air dummies that cut trusses without consulting us before doing stupid things like this 😳
It was the truss manufacturer and engineer that actually told us to do this. Your not seeing the entire picture. We followed his plans exactly as he laid them out in the blueprints. Looks like you have assumed, following the rest of those in the comments. I hate it for you man.
Yes they do! Not sure they make one that size, but you could always buy one from Diamond Kote and then use vinyl siding around it. Nothing wrong with that I have seen it before. The lineset cover is from Mitsubish and I purchased it on ecomforts website.
Hi quick question, when it comes to attaching the enclosure, do you have to drill right through the wall boards to what ever is on the other side (plaster/wood etc) I know most of the enclosures weight is supported at the base, just want to make sure it's firmly attached to the wall and won't come off the wall
The waterproofing material is attached directly to the studs. Then the panels are attached to the waterproofing material using thinset or adhesive. Its definately not coming off the wall.
You cut the truss and then peeled back and forth on the weakest part of the sheeting 😂 lol 😆 🤣 what the hell is going on here? Besides an earthquake when the hell are those kind of forces going to be exerted?
Yes and no. Real nails or even better screws hold them down better. But you have to think about several things. Like if its an area that can get high winds, the amount of overhang (for the wind to catch and pull up), and what kind of roof you have on the building. A sheet roof that catches the wind and rips out just a bit can pull really hard. Shingles can also catch it pretty good. But clay tiles just add more weight, and if they fly off, you probably have a lot of other things to also worry about. Then we also have the building itself. If you build with toothpicks like in the us there is going to be a not so insignificant amount of trusses that break on houses. Therefore, being able to do what you just did is something that is necessary. In sweden, we use what rightfully should be classified as wooden beams. We don't really have a problem with the trusses breaking. We don't use binder plates (the ones that attach themselves) or staples either. We also put plywood or particle boards before the drywall, water lines are in pipes (if they leak it will pour out in the basement instead) and electricity is always in conduit or visible (since like the 30s it's been this way, you can re run an entire house from the 50s easily).
I recently got into the flex line and the tools are good my only issue was the stack pack. There are so many add ons and mods to choose from but using the ones that go inside the case and the ones that mount to the inner lid is just not gonna happen. I was bummed because I saw the ability to mount my bits and charge my batteries with the lid while on the bottom portion have battery holders and my tools, The only thing missing was a small add on to hold brad nails, other fasteners and maybe a usb-c cord to charge something with the 24V fan. FLEX has so much innovation and I know they'll keep growing but the they need a compact version of their Fast charger allowing the bit case to open at least 90 degrees to easily reach all the driver bits in the case. Currenty I own the 18 GA brad nailer, the 8.5" stack pack fan, and the Cordless router, with the 12 inch miter saw coming in the future (once the price lowers later this year). I started moving toward ridgid because of the lifetime servicing but I hear if you "use your tools too much" they may consider the issue wear and tear and not cover it. Hasn't happened to me yet but I want FLEX's lifetime warranty for these heavy work tools. The only flex tool I'm on the fence with is the Multi tool because I got the m12 fuel not too long ago and I'm not a fan of the Flex's starlock system.
Yeah I hear where your coming from on the stack pack stuff. I really like the system, but overall I like the drawers. They are my go to. As for the lifetime warranty, yeah you are not going to have that issue with Flex. The flex multitool is the best one I have ever used. Once you go starlock, you will never go back. I had starlock even on my old bosch and loved it.
@@miillersconstruction right now the flex multi tool is on amazon for 168 kitted with a charger, 2.5 ah battery and a bag. I gotta ask, how's the vibration on it with hard wood? Milwaukee vibration isolation is solid. like the ridgid cordless ratchet, the flex multi tool has the battery on the belly, I was a bit concerned since my m12 is thin I can get right up to the wall without the battery being in the way cutting flush against the wall
Interested to see how long this last. Was actually in the market for one for my basement . The larger vertical ones from the big box stores aren’t cutting it. Crawlspace ninja on RU-vid, has a decent video about Santa Fe’s . I guess they quit installing them due to lack of parts and longevity issues. They switched to April Air and claiming far less call back issues. Give us an update down the road on this!! Keep up the awesome content.
I have the standard impact motor from Flex. Absolutely love it. Just buy more than you need when planning to drive self-tappers… they get eaten alive by these things.
I got lucky and bought both the compact drill and impacter on clearance. They were gen 1 they were clearing out to make way for the new improved version you have. At $99 each kit...tool, two batteries and standard charger it was impossible to pass by. I really like the flex tools i have bought so far. I also have the full size stack kit impacter. Crazy powerfull!!!
is there something in particular you don't like about griprite? I've used their #6 1-1/2" and 2 inch drywall screws for all of my drywall applications and they seem okay.
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL i used exterior grade for both skirting for a backyard shed and for some 2x4 shelves in the garage. Many of them snapped at the first opportunity. I tried taking the skirting down a year later. Every other screw snapped durning removal. The deckmates have never done that to me.
@@unclefester4626 that's crazy! I guess they're meant for smaller applications, glad I didnt have any issue though. thanks for sharing! ill keep an eye out for deckmates assuming HD carries em I'm not a lowes fan at all
