My how things have changed!! I don’t watch anymore since the Cardinals went WOKE ……sad, my whole family bled Cardinal red for generations until they backed BLM/ANTIFA. Haven’t cared or listened or watched since….and I’m not the only one.
Who would have guessed that it would be almost two decades (19 years) before these 2 historic organizations would play each other in the playoffs? In 1987 the Cardinals won the East, but the Dodgers finished 4th (73-89), in the West. In 1988 the Dodgers won the West (94-67-1) while the Cardinals finished 5th in the East (76-86). In the '90s, both the Dodgers and Cardinals would only qualify for the playoffs once. That would be in 1996 for both teams. Thanks to the expanded playoff format, the Dodgers would earn a wild card berth with a record of (90-72). They finished 1 game back in the West behind the Padres but had the best record for the NL teams that didn't win their division. Meanwhile, the Cardinals won the Central with a record of (88-74). Both teams would be eliminated by the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers would be swept 3-0 in the NL Division Series. While the Cardinals would advance to the NLCS after sweeping the Padres 3-0. The Cardinals .would go on to lose to the Braves 4-3 in the NLCS despite leading the Braves 3-1 in a best of 7 series. The 2000 Cardinals would finish 1st in the NL Central (95-67) and go on to the NLCS, where they would lose, to their old NL East rival the, Mets 4-1. The Dodgers finished second with a 86-76 record. In 2001 the Cardinals would qualify for a WC spot (93-69) and lose to Arizona 3-2. Meanwhile, the Dodgers finished 3rd in the West (86-76). In 2002 the Dodgers would once again miss the playoffs finishing 3rd 92-70. While the Cardinals (97-65) advanced to the NLCS.losing to the Giants 4-1. Then after 19 years, the Dodgers and Cardinals would finally meet in the 2004 NLCS. The Cardinals would win this best of 5 series 3-1. The Cardinals would go on all the way to the World Series (1987 was the last time) only to be swept by the Red Sox.
The arduino is cool, but why not just have a reduced pulley. You could do the math to figure the ratios. For those of us who are not technical savy.😊 Like the hose set up. Looks to make for easier adjustments. Could hook up a propane tank as well so as to not worry about running out of gas.
Add to the other comments . . .best one I've seen so far . . . not up to speed witn electronics . . . will have speed control on both motors . . . with two mechanical trip switches . . . one to start the feeder motor . . . the other to turn it off. Done things like that in Navy days 50 years ago . . . figure I can still do it one more time. Thanks for the video . . . made my day.
Jack giving us permission to go crazy lol. As if we needed it! Was this his greatest call ever! Or Kirk Gibson's I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!!!!???? Toss up to me. They tied for the two greatest calls of all time in MLB history.
Nice vidio. Suggestion: I understand why your scale needed to be at eye level before you had the web cam, but I think that you might find it more convenient to use if you put it on the table, now that you have the camera. Keep up the good work. I like short clear and to the point a lot.
Jon -- I used a Nema 24 stepper motor, I "believe" this one right here: www.ebay.com/itm/US-Ship-1-Axis-CNC-Kit-439oz-in-Nema-24-Stepper-Motor-Driver-CNC-Mill-Router-/231616285298?hash=item35ed680a72:g:0Y4AAOSwyQtVmyaY
I was there! I was a 16 year old kid way out in the left field stands with my dad. Was one of the few times me and my dad ever hugged each other. Thanks for that memory Ozzie!
Thanks for your comment, l'm from Australia, don't really appreciate baseball, but the memory you shared of that magic moment with your Dad, thanks mate
Great work Dean. Question regarding that "white" plastic wheel. I'm having a devil of a time trying to source those... where did you get them? Thnx and Great Job again!
Tom -- Thank You! I can't remember exactly where I purchased the delrin rod, but I do know that if you hit Ebay and search '2" delrin rod' you'll get several h its. Same search on the web in general will produce many result. Good luck!
Mainly because I knew C already, and was trying to learn the Arduino, also because I didn't know another way to do it. It's easier for me to code it via software than use a mechanical approach, since software is what I do.
Mike - I started with something like this off of ebay: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=linear+rail+shaft+support+bracket&_sacat=0 Measure your torch and find the closest size you can. I don't recall what "mm" size I bought. I had to do a little work on it. Chopped off the legs/tabs, then drilled and tapped a hole for a set screw. The rod was a long bolt with partial threading that I cut the head off of.
If you haven't already been here, this is a ton of info on this forum post that started all of this: www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/DIY-Annealing-Machine/42-434088/?page=1
This is absolutely ridiculous. Thanks for sharing all of your work! After a lot of looking, I like this a lot better than some of the commercial ones out there, and it will be fun to build.
Harley Fee, Thank you. Make sure you check out this forum link, where this idea came from. There's a lot of good information here that will help you build yours: www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/434088_DIY_Annealing_Machine.html&page=1
Hello Dean...after many deployments and moves, I finally settled in and have a bit of time to start reloading - again. last time I reloaded I was stationed in NM back in 85'. That being said, do you have a schematic/wiring diagram for this unit? I am almost finish with my reloading bench and I want to give this a try. Thank you so much for sharing your idea!!
Dan, I really don't have any formal plans or diagrams. Did you check out the arfcom thread where all sorts of variants of this annealer were put together? www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/434088_DIY_Annealing_Machine.html&page=1
The arduino was more of an experiment on my part, and it actually ended up working very well, however on the link above, there are all sorts of other non arduino methods that were used to drive the motors, speed, etc, and they are much simpler, and probably more robust. The arduino was a fun part of the project, but not necessary at all.
Just saw this... I didn't buy it, was a "home" project... Started from the ideas on this thread: www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/434088_DIY-Annealing-Machine.html
very cool idea all this tech we have laying around these days old webcams and old phones I will do this with a old phone so I dont get calls during reloading. thanks a bunch my eyes are going I thought I had a medical problem went to the doctor and he told me I was getting old and my eyes were starting to fuzz up lol who knew? This glasses thing sucks I leave them everyplace I am not and have to find them now just to read simple crap.
