5:31 I needed to move this lock from one door to another. I couldn’t remember where the wires came together on the original install. Time stamp is 5:31 for those looking to do the same.
So I bought a house with this annoying lock installed on the front door.. I know the code but want to change it so no one else knows it. Unfortunately, I have to completely disassemble the entire assembly to access the programming code. Fantastic design! Wish I had the user manual, but the old owners of the house conveniently no longer have it. So here I am wondering if it's even worth it at this point..

The factory user codes won’t unlock the bolt. This was after changing batteries. I’ve tried everything. The green check mark pops up like it recognizes the code but nothing happens with the bolt. Also added a code and same thing happens. Appears to recognize the code but nothing happens with the bolt. Beyond frustrating.

Is there a way to adjust the play in the lever. I have to push so far down to get it open that I keep running into it. Is there a way to shorten the play so I doesn't have go down almost 90 degrees to open?

For anyone who still has these garbage disgusting locks on their doors. If the battery does die and you DO NOT have the bypass key you can drill the key cylinder out. Make sure you use a 1/4 inch masonry bit with a drill or a hammer drill. Drill it to the left of the key cylinder where the pins are and you want to drill out all 5 of the pins and then stick a flat head in it and turn it open. Worked for me and saved me a bunch of money.
I lost my keys so I'm worried about the batteries going dead or the lock breaking and leaving me screwed. So this is a helpful tip for a destructive method. But if I can find someone to show me how to repin the lock that would be even better.

Getting the wires tucked in was a tearful process of frustration!!! 😢 Why is there so much wire, to tuck away in such a tiny area, when there is so much dead space everywhere else? 😕🤔 My internals & wire set up does not match what the video shows. 😳 Why not update the video? 🧐💡 I am going to return the other 12, because it was such a hassle getting it together. 💸 It's heavy, & the "hands free" holding screw doesn't work well enough. 🤺 Don't install without crocks on, to bounce off the falling plates. It could seriously bruise, if not break bones. 🤼 No, I am not a pro installer, 🔖 but am not inept either. 👩🏻🔧 Just a fairly handy person, who found this much harder to deal with than another, ⚖️less expensive brand. 👩🏻⚖️ 0:14 & After way too long it doesn't work...so have to leave it unlocked till the morning, & some help arrives. 👎

When replacing the batteries in our lock we recommend using high quality alkaline batteries only, Duracell and energizer batteries are preferred for ideal performance. Lithium, rechargeable, Amazon Basics, Rayovac, Everready, Kirkland and all other discount/generic brand batteries tend to drain rapidly in our locks. Nor do they provide sufficient power for Schlage locks. Additionally, batteries purchased in bulk tend to drain on the shelf prior to use. Thank you for reaching out to Schlage support. On the front of your keypad there are two prongs that are the battery jumpers to jump start the battery so your able to open the door.

In the event that the keypad is unresponsive due to low battery you can connect a 9V alkaline battery to the terminals below the lever/thumb-turn on the Touch-series locks. That's not what I meant. 90%+ of the door knobs have the interior lock mechanism facing vertically when locked, and horizontal unlocked. My F series locks are the opposite by default. Is there a way to change this?

Thank you very much. The locksmith came, and he gave me the 6 digit code on the inside. I got to change the pass code, and I know how to change it in the future.
I changed the wifi password one day and since then the Schlage won't reconnect to Smartthings. I followed the manual and youtube videos and I only got red cross error. Do you have tutorial somewhere for this kind of issue? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

The 6 digit code is on a sticker inside the lock. You may have to disable-mine was inside the part that is outside the house. I put another sticker inside, but only have to take off the inside cover to read. Or you can program your own six digit after you get the factory one.(sticker shown 16 seconds in)

To enable the 30-second auto-lock delay you will need to be press the Schlage logo at to the top of the keypad and enter the 6 digit program code then press the number 9 and the keypad should blink 1 green check mark to confirm it has been enabled.
