Australians Of The Year 1967 and ARIA Hall Of Fame inductees, The Seekers first performed together in Melbourne in 1962. They became Australia's first international supergroup, topping charts around the world with hits like "Georgy Girl" (Academy Award® nominated), "The Carnival Is Over" (No. 7 in the Top 10 UK Hits of the 60s) and "I'll Never Find Another You" (to date more than 6 million hits on youtube.com).

Famous for putting Australia on the international pop music map with their unique pop sound, singing four-part harmonies with acoustic guitars and double bass, The Seekers still hold the record for the biggest concert crowd in the southern hemisphere (200,000) in March 1967.

It was an incredible motion picture. Of course it was in Cinerama on that sonide screen. When you see it on TV it is not the same. Great singing Debbie RIP.

I heard this song for the first time in “We were Soldiers”, played at a party the night before deployment to Viet Nan. Perfect song for the movie, fantastic song I could listen to every day.

As a child, Judith was my own happy voice. As the years went on, it never changed. Many came near but not one ever overtook her... Just my special singer... I just love redheads... it took me years to realise that Judith was an auburn goddess. Thank the stars for colour tv...

Takes me back to my childhood in the 60s and 70s. A TV classic. It's unbelievable that someone at the BBC junked the BBC's copy. It is available on DVD - pieced together from multiple sources found all over the world. Thank you Robert Hoffman! It's a wonderful legacy.

I first heard this song over the radio driving through Baltimore City. It grabbed me right away. Judith Durham...What can we say that hasn't already been said? If ever a voice came from heaven, it would be hers. To say it was stunningly beautiful would be an understatement.

I find this song so uplifting despite its theme of loss. One of their other “sad” hits doesn’t have this uplifting quality, and while good, I can listen to this one a lot more (maybe you can guess which other song I’m thinking about?😉). I was alive in the ‘60s, but didn’t know this song until later. I did know “Georgie Girl” though when it came out and loved it!!

It’s a nice song. But when my wife died almost exactly a year ago, I learned most clearly that we don’t live in a world of our own. The outpouring of support and friendship was overwhelming.

Sure, the lovely Judith Durham had a great set of pipes. But credit too to the backing arrangement by Keith Pottger that gives the song its real punch.

Les correcteurs vocaux n'existaient pas. Seules les voix se réunissant en harmonie étaient capables d'un résultat comme celui des Seekers, à condition d'y mettre aussi ce qui vient du coeur.
