Hello Ashston, this is the comparison I was afraid of now I know why. Anyway - thank you for the truth. I own the R6ii and bought the R5ii because of the 4K 120p and the promised oversampled 4k50. Now I have to realise that it’s just linescipped and the lowlight capabilities of the R5ii are disappointing too. Your test just proves it. Now I will wait for the follower of the R6ii and meanwhile film 4k25 with the R5ii. For sure the 4k50 SRAW could be an alternative but I wonder why I should change to Davinci Resolve just to get noise out of it.
@@alfredknodler540 hi there thank you so much for watching. Yes, I will do the same as you my brother, but I’m seriously awaiting the R6 mark 3 but for now I will keep the R5 two and the R62. I shot a wedding the other day with the R62 using 12,800 I saw and it was so clean such a low like monster
@@ashstonk By the way: I decided to use 4k50p-crop on C2 on my R5ii - this way I get closer zoom-range too and don´t need the expander for my new RF 100-400-lens. Anyhow: the crop in 50p was the reason why I left my great LUMIX S1H years ago. Life sometimes goes in circles LOL
@@alfredknodler540 I know we all want full frame everything don’t we? But at the end of the day I think Canon is protecting the R5C II because IT over samples all its resolutions so they couldn’t give us that but I’m happy using them for 4K 50 in a crop mode for sharper footages I can make that sacrifice and have C2 also I don’t use 50 for everything.
I must say this short looks clean and my dumbass shitty made meme short has 265 wiew but this one has 75 Its just doesnt make sense I hope you will find your way
Thanks a lot, what this method did for me is make the Davinci viewer window look exactly like the export in played in QuickTime. It means I was set up wrong and as far as I know, this is the right way from now on to work.
Great Video. How is your experience with the low-light-capabilities of the R5ii. In my eyes it´s much worse than the R6ii. And the 4k 50p issue of the R5ii (not downsampled) makes me cry...
@@alfredknodler540 hey thank you for watching and yes that’s the problem with high megapixel cameras is that they will struggle with the low light because of the amount of pixel that’s on the sensor. The R6 mark two is amazing low light beast I love using it for low light stuff and yes the over sample 4K 50 one the R62 is Stella. 4K 50 on the R5 /R52 not oversampling is an issue but then you have clog 2 which is a win, but have you tried the 4K 50 S raw now that is amazing I know it’s larger file but it’s very very sharp but I’m going to put out a comparison video shortly about the 4K 50 in R62, R5 and the R52. I’m also gonna throw in the S raw just that you can see.
@@alfredknodler540 hey man to add to this I think the rumour are R6III the 4K 50 will be top because I think they will put the same oversampling 6K in it.
I have both the R5 and R6ii and haven't noticed the R6ii being significantly better for low light. I have an R5ii on the way and will get rid of either the R5 of R6ii
@@ashstonk That's exactly what I did. I don't want to give up my low light capabilities in pictures. The lowlight in video has been great so far with clog 2 with the R5ii.
@@SBCDude hey thank you for watching. I use a combination, for this one particular or the last few videos on RU-vid has been filmed on the R6II but I normally use the R5 also. However, if I am needing 4K 60 I shoot primarily on the R6 mark two.
time limit is a tax thing regarding the difference between a photo camera and a video camera.... les than 30 mins ie 29.59 is why its that amount... they cant remove it "post sale" I knew this was not going to change. At least you cant get over it via the ninja v+
you called the r5 ii 4k 60 rubbish... but there is more to an image than oversampled vs line skipped... The R5 II is hitting 2.5 more stops 'Usable' of Dynamic range over the R6 II in cLog 2... and If you wish you could shoot 8K 60 and down sample yourself in post to 4k 60 and than there is zero compromise in image quality and than the R5 II and R6 II are in totally different classes in terms of video... However, that would come with larger files, but id still rather have the 4k 60 clog 2 line skipped video in the r5 II than the oversampled R6 II I shoot with an R6 II and i love it... but calling the R5 II Rubbish just made little sense lol.
@@M_a_n_00_7 oh I completely agree with you. I would love to have r5mk2 purely for clog 2 because I do have the R5 Mark one also but I just can’t understand why Canon would make such a soft image such a good camera trust me I would love to have the R5 mark 2 I’m just saying Bro, but thanks for the comment noted.
Thanks for the response, keep doing your thing, No hate on my side all love. additionally in the R5 II defense its got a higher resolution sensor so down sampling is more difficult compared to the R6 II so canon probably felt if you desperately need the resolution shoot 8K... But we can all agree 4k 60 oversampled would have been amazing... I'm hoping I can get more work so I can justify the upgrade to the R5 II for now I'm loving my R6 II... But I'm a sucker for slow motion 120 lol overrated, and over used? defiantly... still nice to have? absolutely.
@M_a_n_00_7 hey brother absolutely no hate at all as professional as we are we’re still learning and of course I would love a R5 mark two like you said if you shoot 8K 60 and downsample would solve the issue but then you have to upgrade your memory cards and those CF express cards are very expensive I just purchased a 256 and it cost me nearly £200…. But thank you for the comment…. I do shoot the R5 and the Canam R6Mark two for now they get the job done.
@@ashstonk Indeed those cards are really pricey! And the more I think of it you might have a point... Done a little bit of digging and in 8K and even 4k 120 as long as its LGOP you can record to an SD card... However, its only 8K in 30... So assuming CF cards droped in price and become more attractive, we still have an issue that when recording 8K 60 it cannot be recorded to an SD card... So you have no backup... And for weddings I wouldnt want to record to only 1 card in case the other fails... So ya its really unfortunate that the R5 II is line skipped...
@M_a_n_00_7 hey man I’m glad you figured things out yes the R5 are not cheap cameras to accommodate however I do have othe atomos ninja VP and the ultra which I used to record Wedding ) so I do have back up on the camera and also the ninjas are safer to record on ssd
Hey, thank you so much for watching. Can you elaborate a little bit more how so. Because I’ve actually use it at a wedding on Saturday and it worked perfectly the overheating warning light never came on.
Hey buddy, thank you so much for watching. I don’t know why yours is doing this but since I found this, I’ve never had a problem with it. It looks the same on my phone as it does on the computer screen. And I’m using the iPhone 13 Pro. It also even looked the same on Samsung phones which my sister has so I can only speak for myself but I hope you find a way around it. Many thanks again for checking in.
Excellent review! Just wondering what the cost is compared to other tripods in this field and is it worth the money? Tbf that quick release pays for itself!
@@TransPeterPan hey thank you so much for watching yeah it’s very very sensitive. I’m not sure why even how many years later it’s still a little bit sensitive happy to help.
@@paulkalliokoski1467 you’re super welcome. I’m happy to help you. You’re from Sweden my Photographer colleague we work together as she’s from Sweden also
Hey I’m really glad that you find a way around things. It’s never been a problem for me since I found this technique but I’m glad that you were able to figure things out. Thank you again for watching.
Hi there thank you so much for watching both gimbal will work perfectly fine. I just got the RS4 pro as a future proofing gimbal but they handle the weight.
@@stevenwest000 hey thank you so much for watching. R6 is an amazing camera however I’ve upgraded to the R6mk2 since filing this. Which is a powerhouse. Paid with my R5
Hi, first of all, thank you so much for watching. I shot this on the canon r6 mark 1 at the time of this film I use a combination of focal length but they were all sigma art lens how this helps. But I also use a tiffen black pro mist filter 1/4 strength
@@ashstonk Nice!!! Thanks for the info. I didn´t thought about the tiffen black pro mist filter. It works!!! I can say it´s one of the best works I have seen with a canon R6MII, congrats
Great video! Do you know if RS4 and RS4 Pro will work with an on-camera mic (e.g. Rode VideoMic) attached please? I am worried about the mic hitting the back motor while doing the lower angle shots. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hey buddy, so I only owned the RS4 pro and I know the RS4 pro is a little bit taller than the RS4 however I normally use my rode wireless mic pro as it’s easy to do crazy gimbal move, however just to answer your question. I’ve connected my rode videoMic NTG on top of my camera and it does hit the back of the gimbal but only if you go past parallel, which means the arm of the gimbal needs to be parallel with the camera anything more than that and it will hit the back. So basically if you put the gimbal arm from vertical to horizontal, then it will not hit the back of the mic, but if you go past that it will hit the back. I hope this helps thank you so much for watching.
@@ashstonk Hey mate, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so very much for taking the time to give me this prompt and detailed answer. Much appreciated! Keep up the good work and take care.
Hello, I use this with a canon 85mm lens and it looks like the matte box is too heavy and causing a lens error whenever I tilt the rig downwards. If I use the rod clamp to support the mattebox rhen the lens is locked and not able to focus since it comes in and out while trying to focus. Is it just the lens that is not compatible?
Hey thank you so much for watching. Perhaps try using it without the support clamp because you don’t really need the support clamp at all. I just put it on there just for some extra security but you don’t really necessarily need it. None of all my lens is our prime, so I don’t have no issues with the lenses. Don’t move at all so maybe Try without the support for the mat box or and then you can zoom in and out because once I use it on my canon 24-70 which is a zoom lens and I just did not put the support clamp on so that the box can move freely forward and backwards
@@ashstonk Thank you ao much for your response! I get the same error even withour the aupport clamp but I forgot to mention a major fact ; I upgraded the mini matte box for the Multifunctional Modular Matte Box which is double to weight compare to the mini. Do you think this is the issue?
@@Arismercury hey buddy I think it’s the lens has a problem. A friend of mine was using her 24-70 on her Canan r62 body and she kept having this error she took it to the repair centre and they said it was the lens.
Great Video! But why does your flip out screen stays on in this position. Mine turns black when I flip it 90 degrees like you did. in addition to that, i cant record while showing the hdmi output on the monitor. How did sou solve this problem
Hey, thank you so much for watching. You need to go inside the camera and put screen only on so that the sense of does not block out the screen so you need to go inside the camera to change that. Also you need to change the settings in the camera for it to view while you’re exporting at HDMI.
Hey thank you for watching. If you meant the R62 u will need to new cage. The cages are little different but everything work. I now have the R6mk2 and all still work will just need a new cage
One last question - I use the Canon 50mm 1.8 & cANON 35mm 1.8 that they require 49mm and 52 mm lens filter. Does that mean that the matte box will not fit those?
@@Arismercury hey buddy once again thank you so much for watching so the Matt box comes with 3 adapters with different lens thread but I think the smallest thread is 67 mm adapter. You have two choices. You can buy separate adapter that would fit your lenses (matt box adapter) or you can just get step up rings so like a 49 to 67 step up ring a 52 to 67 step up ring that way you will be good to go. Good luck up
