In all the years that i have found the melody catchy I just can’t quite embrace the sing-a-longness that this song teases me with considering it came into existence re Female genital mutilation. Leaves The Police’s every breath you take’s stalking theme for dead. (And as for reading comments about the “sexuality” of tori’s performance(s), well that can wait for another time. For me at least) YMMV
I genuinely think this song is her greatest. After everything she's made, this is the one song that I'll always come back to. Winter is also a contender for that spot.
Tori is a truly remarkable artist. But it's quite depressing to think that a performance of such uncompromising depth is almost unheard of today in the sea of utter mediocrity masquerading as musical 'talent'. Very rarely will you encounter someone so gifted that it literally stops you in your tracks, leaving you speechless, and awe inspired. An artist who really makes you think, and changes you. Tori is one a very special few that are capable of this.
Im the opposite: When i saw the Bob's Burgers Tabitha Johansson, i knew instantly it was a Tori Amos reference. Ive been in love with Tori since about 2007 or so 😅
