Trunk wouldn’t close today and it was raining like hell! I had same issues with opening and closing but today it wouldn’t close after opening but I fixed all the wiring thanks to you salute!!!!🫡
From what you are saying i am going through the same, also check and it was full of water, i managed to clean the drain, but now i would like to know if you managed to sort it out the idrive issues? After draining i tried again yet keeps on giving me the sames issues about 5 min after starting the car, the screen starts going on and off, and the faults start showing, abs, transmission yet dont know if its because its still wet and should wait more time to dry out? Let me know if you sort it out pleaseeee.
I just did your fix. Brilliant work. My issue was with the actuator spinning in the opposite direction and no plate lights. Also the trunk actuator was spinning constantly in the opposite direction, only stopping when you press the key for 2 seconds, then spinning again. I had groud coming on the plus (yellow green wire) while nothing on ground. Ground on the trunk lid was disconnected from the groud group near the battery. Check with a wiring diagram of you have the proper voltages and connections on the actuator and the various lights in the plate and trunk. I've been thinking of a faulty body module, but it was 5 cut wires, all on the same place and that caused interference and absolutely illogical work of all these modules. BMW should have recalled all of these E60s. I don't know how this module can take input minus from output plus source and work with no groud.
Great video, ive got a 2013 bmw 1series with similar problems, on my one the water is so full past the brake servo!! Your video was the only one on here giving concrete info. Thanks I've got to go and clear it now lol!
Wayne here again thanks to your video, I found the drain plug cleared with a jet washer I then refilled the whole lot with water and all water drained away. You are a top man. No where else mentioned this on RU-vid that I could find.
Thank you so much the rear of my car behind drivers seat and drivers foot well was full of so much water. I checked the main drainage and all was good but today I stripped the front end down and under the brake servo full of water. I didn’t know there was another drain of point. Thank you so much I will clear out mine tomorrow. Your a star.
Hi mate, wow that has brought back some memories for me. Loved that bike, I purchased that originally from a friend who had it under a sheet in his garden for 3 years. Gave him £300 and collected on a trailer. After replacing the the battery and adding fuel it started straight up. I used the bike regularly for about 6 months without fault, oil & filter changed regularly by myself. The only problem I had with it was the water pump bearing, first there was a screeching sound then water leaked out. Couldn’t find a replacement then found online a company that refurbished them, had to send it to Italy and 3 weeks later pump came back as new. Nice to see it still out there. Is it still going? Cheers, Mark
I’ve done mine and my boot button stil does not work. I’ve replaced boot button still not working , fuse is ok and al wiring is ok. Any advice anyone for me
I have the exact same model and year 4hp Merc on my fiberglass skiff. That old workhorse is main engine and upgraded with generator. Never misses a beat 💪
The drain plug is just behind the wheel arch plastics they get solid with muc only 4 grommit screws to get to it then just pull it out and get rid of the drain plug not necessary anyway then you'll all have no more drainage issues.
Thanks for the video, very helpful for fixing my 2006 e60 525i. Most of my wires were broken, including the two grey/yellow and two grey/brown wires. As another comment mentioned it does matter which goes to which. I bought a re-engineered SenCom wiring harness (Cat. #2016065) that uses more pliable wires and casing shipped from Germany. I mocked it up first to make sure everything worked (trunk latch button, license plate lights), then crimped everything up and wrapped with wire loom harness tape. Also replaced the trunk shock/spring assembly because it opened violently likely causing the cable damage in the first place. Hope this helps others.
I admit you are a good racer but a bad driver, you need to take it easy for all our sake, but thank you for the video, building my own enduro ebike and half of the rout you ride is same for me, maybe ill race ya :)
Nice bike and battery build 👍 did you have any issues when powering your spot welder blowing the house fuses. Been thinking about doing this. And take care riding I’m always aware if it comes to a crash between car and a bike only one winner.
I watched this a few times as I’m excited to make my own bike but this is very reckless driving. If you ever get into an accident, especially if someone gets hurt even yourself, you will be found at 100% fault, taking all blame since your motor is more than legal limit, I’m not saying I w9nt ride over 250W but just ride safely. Never overtake at a corner, especially when you have a chance to lane split, some moments in the video you’re on the other side of the road going very fast, any car that surprises you won’t end well for you. Second, you should be waiting at stop lights most of the time, if you ever get caught you could ruin ebikes for everyone else. 2 people died from e scooters in London now they stopped any and all e scooters from riding, even if they have done so safely.
Thank you!! Exactly where my problem was. My truck open sensor was fixed as well my buttons to open the trunk. Two wires shorted out and was causing my battery to die! Thanks again!!!
I got like 50% of them broken. 2x Grey-Brown, 2x Grey-Yellow and 2x White-Brown cables... Hard to check what is what... Any tips? I watched electric wirings, but its complicated.
I'm having intermittent issues with my idrive at the moment. 56 plate 525d. I've noticed that the middle plastic cover isnt even attached so hopefully this will fix the issue. Will post updates
