I usually whip my rope ends, but I have two mooring lines to splice loops in today so I'll try this at the other ends. I do this stuff all the sime but I've never been tempted to back-splice. It's good to try differnt things
When one ties knots one is making motion and there is a law of motion which was made by a very clever man who had a apple faw on his head and it says that for every motion there is an equal opposite motion and when one ties a overhand knot you think that you make a half hitch but what you will find is that you have two half hitches and if you want to see them you need to turn your knot inside out .a buntline hitch is two half hitches but what you think is two half hitches is not as it makes two overhand knots as as they are the same you got a granny knot.
You have maybe nearly, got the splice somewhere something like suppose to be. Not that it is safety needed, there’s a lot easier and simpler method to splice. From an old rope splicer.
Working with a black rope and a flash light at night but the worst part is that I had two identical ropes and grabbed the 'working end' of the wrong rope more than once. I also lost track of which way I was going while tightening. Maybe I'll try again in the morning...
Great, clear tutorial! On my first attempt, I made one which is quite satisfactory and I know how to do it better next time. I'm not sure what some did wrong, the instruction is so clear. Thanks so much!
Oh wow!!.... This is an incredible 3x strand splicing video... I thought I was going crazy trying to follow a few other bad ones, UNTIL I found PYT , this video. Every step is so clear and precise, nothing the other would be's have which leaft you totally confused. Thank you PYT, I have happily subscribed and will recommend to friends.
