Monkey's Fist description:
A monkeys fist is used to add weight to the end of a heaving line, making it easier to throw it.
This knot may take several attempts through trial and error to get a nice perfectly round and tight fitting knot but don't give up!

If this is being used as a heaving line it should have a weight in the middle of the fist and spliced back into the standing part.

Working with a black rope and a flash light at night but the worst part is that I had two identical ropes and grabbed the 'working end' of the wrong rope more than once. I also lost track of which way I was going while tightening. Maybe I'll try again in the morning...
