Nowadays she’d be arrested for not facilitating and enabling his battyism. The social would take the kids off her homophobic ass and let them go and live with the arse cosmonaut. Despite the fact he was violent, She’d be arrested for thought crimes against the sodomites
Wow just brings back memories for me, I could always remember the song but could never remember why or from what but now I remember ❤ I was young in my defence haha
Back in the day when Radio 1 was worth listening to. Unlike today where we have so called presenters who love the sound of their own voice and their heads way up their own arses. Grimshaw was one of them, I mean what the fuck was that guy on the radio for? I’ve more talent in my left bollock than that clown.
I remember my older brothers and father used to have Simon Bates on the radio in the 1980s when we would get up to go to school etc. As clear as yesterday I remember hearing Queen's Radio Gaga one cold dark Winter's morning. It was SO depressing. He used to have a segment where he would play sad music (found out here it's call OUR TUNE) and talk over it about a life of a listener etc. Wouldn't go back to those days for anything.
Very similiar to a peter kay car share episode story. 😂😂. Sad to hear about Steve Wright yesterday. Used to listen to this and steve Wright in the afternoon in the 80s.
Loved our tune. Whenever you heard the theme tune come on at work we all stopped to listen. A room full of big burly men were mostly misty eyed after listening. Brings back great memories
Did this used to be on about 8am of a morning weekdays . I recall the music and listening to it in the back of the car on the way to school with my brothers
Went to London in summer 1990 to earn some money as I was studying electronics in college. Got a job in Kevlins, Bradmore Park Road, Hammersmith; fixing and refurbing Hoover washing machines and vacuums. Loved the job and the crew I worked with. A battered Hitachi radio-cassette in the workshop was permanently tuned to BBC R1 and I always listened to 'Our Tune' - hearing the background music and Simon's narration really brings back the memories of that summer job. Revisited the old workshop in 2017 and I recognised the building - now converted to high end apartments.
So glad the baby arrived. Thank God. All these years after the story was broadcast, I hope mother and now grown-up kids are thriving. No feelings for the father.
My gran use to listen to this I was a wee boy that was plsying about but I always like the tune it was plsying as since she died in June in 2022 I've been looking up films songs my gran would listen too she also lived Anne get your gun and calamity Jane. Also this story very sad think the man was selfish doing that to her when he knew he was bisexsul he ripped that poor women's heart out 😭
I remember whilst working on building sites back in the day when this came on the radio all tools were downed and everyone listened. It was funny if someone wasn’t interested and carried on working they were truly scorned upon. Good days….
