Funny how cat runs toward the eagle. The eagle says I ain't that bird that's gonna fly or run away in a chase. The cat then turns and run in the other direction.
A big Ole tomcat would just attack. Chase the eagle away. Eagles blindside their prey, pick them up then drop them from the air. No match for a big cat.
Cats are in serous trouble against an Eagle. But I just love how that just don't care. And make no mistake, a good 10,12 pound cat is no walk in the park for an Eagle. None of the normal Prey for an Eagle have the weapons and leg strength of a Cat.
I think you're underestimating bald eagles. They can easily kill cats. Those feathers are extremely tough to penetrate. A cat's teeth and claws would do pretty much nothing. Those razor sharp talons are the size of meat hooks and they can squeeze them hard enough to pop a car tire. It's best to keep your cat inside if you live near these things. They're like mini velociraptors with wings.
I missed it but thanks to the comments I see that the bird was after a mouse the cat caught. At 9:10 you see it walk up to the dead mouse and eat it. That bird knew what it was doing. It just wanted to steal the cat's catch, something it has likely done many times before.
The eagle would destroy the cat. It is much larger and has a talon grip force of 300 psi compared to a cat's bite force of about 80psi which is about the same as an adult human male's grip force. As much as I like cats, it has no chance.

Irresponsible cat owner! Outdoor cats are just killing machines following their instincts. They do an incredible amount of damage to wildlife. ALL house cats should be just that: HOUSEcats, kept indoors fulltime.

You're joking, right? Bald eagles easily kill cats. Their teeth and claws can't even penetrate their feathers, let alone that tough scaly skin on their legs and feet. Bald eagles can just about pop a car tire with their talons. That cat is lucky it didn't end up dinner. The only reason the bald eagle flew in the air when the cat would lunge was to get into a position where it could grasp it with its talons.

@@themilkmanshallrise1885 The Bald Haired Eagle has been adopted as a national symbol of pride, freedom etc., etc. and I believe that is why it is over rated. Trust me, a feral adult male Tomcat experienced in fighting, will destroy the Bald Haired Eagle every day of the week. Cheers, friendo!
