I hated these guys. And I don't mean it in an affectionate way, like "I loved to hate them but I enjoyed them": i genuinely hated that they were in the game, I found them such a terrible idea. When I first met one I had a very good party, pretty much able to wipe out without any effort all storyline boss, you might very well say that I was overpowered. And then it comes Dark Shiva and exterminates myparty in one turn, with three 99.999 hit. At first I thought it was like, a trap, an unwinnable fight put there to make you lose if you ventured back to Macalania. Then I read an official guide and I doscovered that these were meant to be beaten. Only, well, in order to defeat them you needed to stop living and spend the next month grinding, filling the whole sphere grid, then filling it twice with HP spheres, then complete a ton of frustrating and stupid minigames with no less than perfect score to obtain ultimate weapons, break damage limit, break HP limit... this was just insane, there was no fun in it for me. And what's the point of making bosses hard just by increasing the stats until they are literally off the chart? That's not challenging, it's just frustrating and dumb.Take Ixion: with Ixion at least I tried to be smart: he has this super-powerful thundada attack: well, I'll adsorb thunder, then! It's non-elemental. Are you f- serious. They don't even allow you to try some smart strategy, they just have off the chart stats and you must too. Ozma, Final Fantasy IX, is one of the hardest bosses in the franchise, and it only has some 55.000 HP, why would you inflict players with a such a torture as Final Fantasy X does by seting this crazy stats? And to add insult to injury... you could still defeat all of them in one shot by using Yojimbo. Making them both the most frustrating and the easiest bosses in the history of videogames.
FYI to beat the dark aeons stats required are: Hp: 100k (10k) with (BHPL, Ribbon, *A-Phoenix*, A-Haste) + A-shell / A-protect or A-regen (Penance) Mp: 1k Str: 255 Def: 255 Mag: 150 (ok but not needed besides Lulu's OD/Yuna's aeons using spells) Mdef: 255 Agil: 170 min. (Magis sisters) Eva: 35 min but 150 (best) Acc: [0] Luck: 255 (or 255 acc. & 255 evade with luck 35 min. OR 85 to be effective) Penance (use max #, not min.) -> Auto- (haste, protect, potion,) + def +20% OR
It’s strange because with the right stats, in battle perks, armour and strategy this is actually an easy battle yet this fucker relies on u losing your concentration for a second. 1 lapse in concentration, forget to dispel armour break and that’s it u are fighting a losing battle
The desert guy ran into one of those pit plant fiends and died hahahaha should have looked where he was going instead of worrying about the hero's behind him
completing the game this weekend! Nemesis, Peneance, Sir Jecht, Yu Yevon then the Aeons. ill officallily have every acheivement in this game after 15 years. what a great game this is, im currently at 140 hrs. everyones spheres are completed. best weapons and armor from Dark Aeon Yojimbo. LOVE THIS GAME.
@@THECH33SYGUY Congrats, only in FFX can you have been playing a game for 10 years and still not be good enough to beat half the dark aeons. Considering that, I know it took you a grind to get there.
I have a question why do you keep dispelling Rikku right now I’m trying to get my characters stats up and I’m working on luck right now and how did you get Wakas and Titus celestial weapon I’m having a hard time getting theirs
To defeat Penance without Zanmato is easy . No need of ribbon, bhpl is never needed. No summon is needed . Strategy for penance is easy but very specific formula... All three characters must have 255 strength 255 defense 255 agility with luck at least 100. Preferably wakka tidus and rikku, but Auron or Yuna is OK .All three must equip fully powered celestial weapon. All three must wear Shaman Armor with following: Auto haste Auto protect Auto potion (sell all potions except X Potions at least 90+ in stock) Defense +20% In beginning of battle have Rikku Mix ultra nul all (cheer x5). Hit and kill the arms one by one preferably with quick hit ability , then the main body when arms are gone, defeat the arm prior to it's turn. The arms must never get a turn. No character need to die in entire battle. When penance hit you obliteration all party auto heal with auto potion ability. When penance hit you with immolation in second form immediately dispel that character. Penance can be defeated with this method in around 40-45 minutes in PS2 You can set overdrive mode to Comrade if you use overdrive of wakka or anyone to hasten overdrives.
This fight was so good, its basically an orchestrated performance, one mistake and you are paying the price or just recovering for the rest of the battle!

it would have been Awsome to see both the Dark Aeons + Penance in the ps2 verson of the game it sucks that they did't do it but i am glad we got them in the ps4 verson
I got him pretty low and then suddenly immolation started dealing over 11k damage sometimes to non-weakened characters which screwed up my flow, idk what happened. But eh it's the same rythm until the end anyway. Zanmato'd that shit after that
Assuming your character has max defense, the only way immolation can exceed 9999 is if they got hit twice by it and you didn't dispel the armor break status from the first hit
The battle system after being maxed out only made sense to attack.. ended up being a very boring battle.. attack attack attack heal. What a lat down.. after completing and maxing the sphere grid with everyone
Seymour cant win if he fights anima 1v1.... i tried not even close my anima was like 8k hp meaning i did not even grind much and still owned him.... just cast reflect on yourself then spam attack's and pain auto win....
My first encounter with dark Aeons was Dark Shiva. I was like 13 at that time and I would beliv'eve that no one would ever be capable of tanking those first triple hit from shiva that would wipe your team
they cast certain spells including slowga which is very bad. its better to eliminate them always first, never give either one a turn. if he has both arms when gets main body turn, thats game over.
