I’m a British veteran, I had the honour of sitting next to a Vietnam veteran on a flight to Washington DC a few years ago, it was probably the best flight of my life, we chatted for 8 hours and drunk plenty of beers. I hope the sun is shining on him today
From the moment I heard your music in the listening section of Borders book store, how I loved Borders Book's store smooth Jazz section your music caused me to melt. I really love your music and your musical family. God Bless you Paul and your family. John in Ohio USA
I loved rainforest in 1985 that's no dance music at all. You're still a genius for me on synths. But i like your classics more than smooth jazz. Just my 2 ct/opinion. 🎼🎶🎹
when I was a kid (14 ) I was Paul hard castle crazy lol I sent my mum down to virgin records while I was at school ( I couldn't concentrate that day) I sent her to get me 19 as some had different B sides! she said the staff emptied the whole stock on the counter just to get me the version I wanted lol ;) I then bought the destruction mix 12" for my birthday and my mate bought the final story 12" I was guttered lol I only had enough for one record with my pocket money ;) I recorded 19 to cassette and all B sides played them none stop! King Tut, Central Park, Fly By Night, Moon hopper and Dolores I never thought one day I would have them all on Compact Disc especially Dolores! ;) I also purchased Perceptions Of Pacha VIII on release date because it was by Paul Hardcastle its a great house mix! he was my idol back when I was a teenager! I still purchased today whatever I can!
I started out during my teen years listening to you. King Tut And Rainforest Then discovered your album's before them Now I am hooked on all of your music 😊❤❤❤
Man, I found your music by playing Sade in Pandora... and I gotta say, as a Eureka City Cab driver, my passengers love it. Would love to see you play with Peter White, Brian Culbertson, Marion Meadows, Boney James... All aboard the Royal Clipper cruise ship!!
Yes Paul! As someone who taught himself how to manually cut up old classic funk breaks in his teens, I TOTALLY get where you're coming from. Thankfully Steph and Jimi are still promoting your work in 2024 <3
Paul, Dance music came a long way since that 90's style you're playing 😆.. not all dance music is simpleton music. You prob only heard bad dance music. Good Dance tends to be more underground/less known.
Great episode of top of the pops presented by Janice long and Jon peel and furring Freddie Mercury and godley and cream and paul hard castle and Steve Arrington in the studio and the style council and the top 40 brakes and the top ten and bronski beat and Marc Almond
I never associated Paul Hardcastle's music with dance music. His music was always funk, soul and jazz. I don't understand why he's now talking about never wanting to do dance music again.
Can u post the culmination of the why u don't make dance music any more clip! Just 4 us oldies that always had u in their hearts back then! still got it...... Thanks 4 sharing your thoughts
Hola Paul Hardcastle, un saludo de mi parte desde Costa Rica,Centroamérica. Me encanta toda su música, es hermosa, muy hermosa, acaricia mis sentidos cuando la escucho. Hermosa foto con su linda hija.
As a youth Paul music featured heavy in our breakdance routines rainforest in particular still beautiful today thanks for the inspiration of an 80s kid
I don’t understand why this isn’t played on jazz radio more often this is the most relaxing toons this man puts out no matter what he puts out its great thank you sir
I love your music of course 19 and the others. I simple to under the simple/same drum beats. is there a lot of super god synthesizer I'm thinking of fx. - Just For Money side B Back In Time and .at the end. it's where you make a difference from others who make dance music and then at the end you *smile* during the production you are The king of Electro funk
Hi paul! I really like your music and was wondering was synth you used for the lead of your remix of One Wish by Hiroshima? I bet on a DX7 or D50 but maybe you can help me out on this one! (I'm talking about the one that goes F C G A) Cheers!
This is a lush chillout track. I love the Rhodes chords and gentle arpegiated notes. Lots of traditional sounds painted so well. The video is also well produced. Thank you 😊
Nice. Was this your own VHS recording of the show? I'm just trying to imagine you in the mid-80's: "quick, press record - I'm on TOTPS tonight!!" I still find it very sad that TOTP just isn't a 'thing' anymore...neither is caring about the pop charts. Something changed...the internet came along I suppose. Bit sad really.
