I was a little kid when I first heard Nineteen. That song made me stop and think about the horrors of war for the first time in my life. I was just a kid, but that song had a lasting effect and made me appreciate vets. Thank you, Paul Hardcastle.
Brings back good times. I’ve spend a lot of hard earned money as a newspapers delivery boy on PH 12”es. Was in love with the voice of Carol Canyon but the looks of Haywoode, haha 😂
Sir Paul-You have forever impacted my life. I was 26 when i enlisted in the Army in 1986. I got medically discharged in 1989 one year before Operation Desert Storm. So many people here in the US have taken for granted the sacrifice me and other Veterans have made. You didn't forget, and i'm forever grateful to you. God Bless You! Paul (US Army 1986-1989)
Hello Paul This record is so powerful on so many levels and that it sends such a powerful message in support of all the facts of the war and what you very brave American soldiers went through in the fighting and the after effects of when you returned home. Especially the line "None of you received a hero's welcome" I hope you and your family stay safe in these very troubled times. I discovered Paul though 19 then Rainforest and have gone through his back catalogue up until the present day. Unfortunately P.H. is not mainstream over her and does not get the recognition he deserves Genius Enough said Robert from Manchester England
Brilliant song still sounds great today, About 12 months after 19 was a huge No1 hit....The The released a brilliant single called Sweet Bird Of Truth, I remember reading a review on it saying it was like a more powerful version of 19. Both excellent songs !
Amazing ... i bought the 3 original 12inch singles plus the 19.95 versions. I always wanted a gatefold box to put the original 12s in. I got final story cover on display in one of those picture frames for records which is interchangeable. 👍 thank you for uploading this gem 💎
