This is less for boxing it seems and more for the street. I assume you mean keep the head movement deliberate. This is a practice in kickboxing. Boxing does shift into grappling range sometimes to smother or keep safe.
Im just gonna say now, i think this is slightly misleading. A bob and weave doesnt have to have the motions of "going staight down" or "propping your body up". You need to have a quick u motion, but not the exact u. Just the bottom half of the u (if that makes sense). Basically what im trying to say is if your in an actual match and you follow these exact instructions, your gonna get caught clean with an uppercut because "going straight down" and "propping your body up" is gonna take ages
@@basteagui well, all I’m saying is that’s it’s not really a hook anymore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going off centerline, if anything that’s what your supposed to do. And if you use this your technique can get very stiff.
@@alexv1.054 in his defense i think this is A: more for the newer fighters, and B: more for kickboxing and the street, in which case moving off center might be not the best thing to do sometimes.
Horrible advice. Jesus Christ. You should absolutely be moving your head off centerline and transferring your weight from front foot to back foot on punches. It puts power on your punches wand adds a layer of defense.
Depending on many components; the bjj practitioner whether they want to compete or just train, how often the athlete trains and also depends on the coach/professor. Typically 8-10 years though
I've done the parents night out here before, and they are fun. Fun is an important aspect to have when learning. It keeps the kids active and helps them learn.
I had the chance to train at his academy once. He's a great instructor and very attentive to all of his students. If I lived in NYC, I'd train here for sure!
