I really like mine, I traded out the parts from some old joycons I had lying around so they could get more use and I could get my Splatoon special edition fix. But I will say that the quality control is certainly poor with these controllers. Shocker, I know. Although every review and video I have seen on the Splatoon ones has had way more of that ombré blue to purple color like the authentic ones, that was not the case at all with mine. The color is much more of a purple to pink kinda combo, and the designs are way more muted than most anyone else’s. The right joycon was perfect, but the LEDs were bright green?? Just confused as to how there’s so much variation at this factory, but you get what you pay for and it really could be worse.
While they're sold in gashapon in all Nintendo stores, if you want to skip waiting in massive lines and dealing with crowds, go to the Nintendo Check-in at Narita Airport; they have both gashapon there and you'll have max 1 or 2 people to wait for, so you can freely go for as many as you want :)
Do these charge alright using the official joy-con charging bridge? I removed the grip piece off of mine, and it would be a great to hear if they charge with that official accessory - and/or the new charging stand/bridge 2-in-1 to be released mid-October (I haven't had a great experience with 3rd party joy-con chargers :/ ). Edit: I should also clarify I have to ask because my Nyxi Hyperions do not work with the official charging grip/bridge. I slide them into place just fine, but they do not function while charging (unlike actual joy-cons which work just fine)
@@Mmmjakis Dang it - I wonder what it is about 3rd party stuff that isn't compatible with the 1st party chargers... I mean the 1st party joy-cons work just fine on third party chargers, so you'd think it'd be a non-issue 😕 Thanks a lot for confirming they have this same issue. Will definitely make it a bit more of a burden to charge until Mobapad releases their own charging grip for them, and that's good to know before buying
@@iMind-Juris Yeah I was surprised when I found out, because I bought a second hand grip AND tools to take it apart lol. I read someone’s comment on RU-vid recently saying that Mobapad are in the process of making a charging grip for them- hopefully it’s true and it comes out soon!
1:09 please take bro out the pill bottle he doesn't wanna be in there anymore. also I like the adventure time merch, I've been doing a full binge of the show recently and enjoying it
I'm ashamed to admit this, but I JUST got back into using my Nintendo Switch. I've had mine since Christmas 2017 but I stopped playing it once I got my gaming pc 3 years later. Looking back, I wish I spent more time with it now that the console is nearing the end of its lifespan as I'm now starting to appreciate the console for what it is. Still, I can't complain, seeing that I came back just in time for the mobapad controllers. I ordered a pair off the official store website and it should be hopefully arriving next week.
Wow, this is amazing. Other controllers almost always have to compromise removing amiibo and HD rumble (or even gyro), but finally we have a better option without sacrificing any of the Joy-Con features... Well almost all if you count playing with 2 on the side lol.
I got the S version aftea the first wave of hype. The dpad turned out to be horrendous, one of the worst cases of fake diagonals I've ever seen. Customizing between disk and cross didn't solve it. Asking on reddit found folks that had the same problem with the HD. Everything else is great, but if you are looking fof a good dpad, this is not the places
@@vexorian interesting 🤔 I have been using it for marvel v Capcom 2 for this week and haven't really noticed any issues but I'm no pro when it comes to d-pads :0
I backed this kickstarter for the sling (also got a controller) and was looking for a review of that when youtube recommended your video. At 3:42 you show what looks like a 16x16 rgb display with keyboard keys bellow, what's that? I looked at your past videos trying to find a video of that and funnily enough I found that earlier this year I watched another video from you, the logitech k830, which by the way is so weird that there's still no sucessor, I can't find a non bluetooth wireless illuminated keyboard+trackpad for my living room pc.. Anyway subscribed =)
I bought the Hori splitpad compacts in red it’s arriving tomorrow yes the mobapad m6 hds are good but I don’t like mouse clicky buttons and when will it be on Amazon
My favorite is still the iine elite plus or whatever they're called. A bit less features, but I they feel so premium, while having the shape of a full size controller
@@itcamefromabox cool! If you get them, just make sure you get the plus version. They look basically exactly like transparent nyxi hyperion controllers. I think they are probably using the same molds Also try out the motion controls on them! It feels almost exactly like the joycons or pro controller!
So basically this is the best third party Joy-Con alternative, released at the end of the Switch's life... Man I hope we get controllers like this for the Switch 2 close to launch
I have the Mobapad Chitu hd controller, it looks like an official Nintendo switch pro controller, but vastly superior, considering it’s got to back buttons, turbo macro, and an NFC reader, for third-party any cost less than the official one…….. if you’re having trouble with the app, I recommend updating the app or updating your phone because the app works for me It’s a shame you can’t find them on Amazon
Holy whoa, just seeing these first-hand(while, through your hands, heh), these honestly look incredible! How do they feel compared to NYXI's controllers? I've been using the Wizard for a while now, and it lasted...a good year plus a few months, before the ZR button stopped working. And getting that fixed wasn't working out, so a friend bought me another one to replace it with. The Mobapad M6 just...just looking at it, it looks so much better in terms of quality and comfort, and I really like the features you showed us! If this NYXI controller breaks(and I hope it doesn't, buh...), would you say the Mobapad M6 is a better investment to make? XD
These feel much higher quality! I think it's because the internals are chunkier! The nyxis are good but they feel very hollow and plasticky. I will say these HDs are much better overall, especially if you like micro switches and HD rumble!
@@itcamefromabox Oooooh...! I honestly do like the sound of that! I don't mind clicky buttons as long as it works well, and for the most part, my NYXI does! Mostly in the control sticks, buh. XD I definitely wanna get my hands on a pair of these with the blue faceplates, and try them out, though! Especially with the control pad, since I absolutely hate the NYXI control pad. Funny enough, the first one I had? I feel like the control pad was good, and worked well! But this one...I've had it for half a year, and it still feels so stiff, and iffy. XD I'm gonna put the Mobapad M6 on my wishlist, so I don't forget about it anytime soon! Thank you so much for the review, I honestly love watching your opinions on various Switch accessories- they're really hands-on, almost like I'm handling the controller, too, and I always feel my eyes widen like a kid at Christmas-time because of the quality of these reviews. >w<
@@mistersurrealist Just from what I've seen of them, I'm *definitely* agreeing with you! You know it's a good sign when you can gauge the quality of a product through a review to this extent, and I really want a pair of my own! I just have to save up for the Switch 2, for now, and see if we get some accessory that keeps the old controllers relevant- or, better yet, that the Mobapads get a Switch 2 style glow-up when the time is right! That'd be really cool, honestly. XD
Pro tip, if you dont use the joycon controller your switch came with you can remove the middle portion from the controller to connect these together to use as a controller
This is my first dive into these specifically! They have a comparison on their site but it seems to be as simple as "this ones newer and has more stuff" lol
Very cool controller! Sadly not very versatile for other consoles, but it is marketed as a Nintendo Switch Controller, so can't complain with that, heh! Faceplates look beautiful. Thanks for the video! PS: Something funky going on with the back lid here? 6:25
Yeah, if they added an attachment grip, it'd make more sense for multi-platform reasons! Didn't bring it up because of that :O Appreciate ya watching :D And I slowed down the clip and added Optical Flow and it didnt know what to do with that line 😭😭
I have a joycon drift on my Nintendo Switch joycons so I really need a new joycons and if those Mobapad M6 HD are that good as you say defienitily I like how those controllers look and if those dosen't have a joycon drift i'm SOLDED thank you for showing Mobapad! By the way are you EXCITED for Nintendo Switch 2? I am: Here we GOO WAHOO! 😊
This one took two weeks of testing but we've been on 'em :D HAULED ep's coming soon and we have a hugeeee compilation soon after :D Appreciate ya watching Menace2f!
