Concluding with 'No fearsome changes in climate ahead'... Well 😅 Our knowledge grew since the 60s in that matter. Still, the threat is man himself, as stated in the end.
Wild and wacky creative! And interesting too: what is the destiny of man?! Also, portraying mother nature and death as toxic husband and wife is a creative idea lol
I feel like if the animators at Disney could have been more innovative in their process, the movies under the art direction of Mary Blair could have looked something like this.
i have been schooling my adult 1st son about dudley moore, the man & his music, & came across this reference to his film music (which i LOVE). imagine my surprise to see he had done this short in 1964 with none other than dizzy gillespie (who i imagine that he adored since well, EVERYBODY did). apparently this is also available on the CRITERION CHANNEL. 2 master musicians who also happened to be world class clowns; wunderbar brother. 🙏🏻❤🙏🏽❤🙏🏿 thank you ever so much for posting this; we'll not see the likes of this era of animation again anytime soon unfortunately.
Art Babbitt animated the little man throwing a net. He slaved over that net. Every little square had to be in the right place while it was flying through the air. I just sold some drawings of the little man. He animated at home so my Mom Barbara always pulled out what he tossed in the trash. They were married about 1967. He bought her a 67 turquoise Mustang. This was around then. H we could still see out if both eyes. He soon after lost sight in one eye. While driving to San Jose to visit me and my family, the in-laws from my Moms marriage to her Ex, his eye slowly closed down on him until he could only see out of a pin hole in the center. It never got better. He kept animating. Amazing artist. Amazing self discipline.
Thanks so much!! I loved this! I first watched this on HBO in the early 80's. I thought the name was "Kakibooby" or something like that. This is one of my lost movies I have been searching for this for 40 years. Thank you!
@@ChickenGeorgeClooney that’s it!! Thanks so much! That’s the one I think I got the stories and titles confused. It’s only been 40 years or so….lol. Thanks again!
The issue now following the death of Faith Hubley is who owns the rights to their works? I mean their works are hardly ever on physical media or shown on TV at all
I swear at the beginning he sounds like he's singing "roast un-the wear all day" sounds like he's saying roast underwear. He starts to sound more like the actual song eventually tho, lol.
I first encountered Zuckerkandl as an undergraduate psychology major. You would be amazed how many people can be induced to participate in a serious academic debate just by quoting one of the "great man's" theories. Nearly 50 years later I still chuckle about it. Thank you so much for posting this.
I have spent the past yEAR TRYING TO REMEMBER THIS FILM FROM MY CHILDHOOD AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO HAVE IT BACK AND KNOW OT WASNT SOME FIGMENT OF MY IMAGINATION I COULD CRY- Anyways such a gorgeous little film, I had never forgotten it after all these years
I have a DVD of Hubley animations with Zuckerkandl on it. I'll see if I can't dig it up and give it a post. This movie was shown a number of times in my high school and it was always a favorite. I was glad to have found the DVD a few years back
