It can perch diagonally too. Where it perches from depends on where you’re standing in relation to the perch. My best advice is to go straight south/north after setting your one cycle up. It can do some wacky fast diagonals if you’re standing close to the perch on a diagonal for a bit so that might be what happened to you?
@@LaRynk_ Yes. If you're still experiencing problems with diagonal perches on normal rsg/ssg runs I recommend you watch top runners to replicate what they do. In general the dragon shouldn't perch diagonally if you copy them.
thanks bro, i had problems where i should place the obsidian and where to stand after its starting to purge but with ur tutorial that helped me out a ton and now i can kill the dragon with beds, im still gonna practice this method in the practice map before i speedrun more so i ll be more prepared
The f5 quake pro thing being banned is kinda stupid but also understandable. If you allow it, it incentivizes a really stupid way of finding the portal room, but if you ban it, people have to change their settings every single time they go into a stronghold to not cheat by accident and get the run denied. Very unfortunate
Some were done by me. I simply changed my skin, and removed the name tag. Others (Where you can see the nametag) is footage gotten from speedrunners that i simply asked.
Awesome video! Thought I would add my favourite banned strat as well: Size 100 Slime resetting - Where the runner's reset script would summon a size 100 slime and spectate it after resetting the world, causing the player's camera to be high up in the air when the next world loaded
The first one being bannned is STUPID. it's litterally a trick you can learn and practice the same way you do with a water clutch. the mod team must have a notable skill issue when they decided to ban it
This is hilariously inconsistent with the fact that one shot is allowed. It literally depends on a massive desync to be able to survive one shot, but moderation doesn't seem to care.
for lava bucket one, it is important to note that when you play singleplayer the game runs an internal server for you, so the desync can happen in singleplayer too.
thanks for explaining the dragon swing direction and the north south setup. have been practicing it a lot before and didn't get results because of those.

4:22 hey thats me!! Jokes aside it was a blessing to contribute to the history of this game in my own small way. I remember SSG all the way back when we ran the walking simulator seed, back when runs were 5 or 6 minutes long... And then watching silliest get the first sub4 and starclay grind runs was surreal. Even starclays short reign on the dolphin seed and your own WR were amazing. All around great videos marcus!
