Welcome to Patriks motor vlog! This is a channel that mostly will be dedicated to me riding around talking about things that interests or annoys me, showing some twisty roads and nice cities of Sweden. May also contain other videos if I find something funny or interesting to film :)
I have just one of these in black, it has an interesting power delivery, nothing until 6000 revs then it comes alive, but you can hit the rev limiter very quickly. Great review Patrik.
Shit I missed your comment for a year, sorry about that x) Kind of fun that you found the video with your exact bike :D No sadly I don't have it anymore. Sold it last summer to some real scetchy characters from skåne. Came with no protective gear or anything, almost laid it down during test riding and then bought it "if I get the helmet too so I can ride it home". Drove off with just summer clothes and then continued to text basic questions for weeks like "what's the pressure in the tires supposed to be" and "how do I turn off the lights" x) Strangest sale I ever had.
@@PatriksMotorVlog i ended up with a 2011 with carbon acro full system and power commander and heaps of other goodies.. for$7200 Australian $$ its an amazing bike I just love it.. its like being the toughest guy in the bar but knowing you don't have to fight to prove yourself..I had a young guy pull up to me an was reving it trying to goad me into a race.. I flipped my visor up smiled and tapped the "1000" sticker😄😄
I see a fellow Swede i give a thumbs up.
Your review helped convince me to buy one in the same colour a few months back so thanks for your upload! It had V&H Urban Brawlers on it when I bought it, but it came with the stock pipes which I have put back on as the Brawlers were to raspy for me for commuting. 5,000 kilometres so far and counting :)
I used to have this bike 1990 to 2003 and it was perfect, I loved it. Went up and down the Italian peninsula on it, including the Morandi bridge that collapsed recently. I wish I can get it back. One of the best bikes ever made!
Hello from Australia. I have the exact F800R. I've fitted an Akrapovic exhaust can which sounds fantastic. Not too loud, just a bit deeper exhaust note. When I back off from higher revs, the Akrapovic crackles and pops. MRA make screens for BMW F800R which I've fitted. The new screen gives pretty good wind protection. I chose the "double bubble" black screen. I ride a bit of open road touring, for which this bike is really good, especially with the screen fitted. I also painted the front guard satin black which looks heaps better. I thought the white front guard spoilt the look. Like a pimple on a nose.
48755003 tackar, definitivt en hoj jag kan rekommendera fast den är farlig för hälsan och körkortet 😉 Den är filmad utanför norrköping på vägarna som går förbi kolmården och bort mot det hållet.
Thanks! It actually turned out better than expected considering how little money I put into it and that it was my first build without plans :) I think the next project is a three ski sled for when the snow comes :)
GoT is life I'm driving a 2011 kawasaki z1000 with an acrapovic 4-1 exhaust and some rizoma mods like mirrors, handebars, handles, turn signals and so on :)
Awe Somo yeah I'm really sorry about that. I'm smacking my lips and didn't realise I was doing it until I came home and started editing. I was so annoyed by it that I almost wanted to go out and redo it but the whole review was a spur of the moment thing so I didn't think I could make it as good :)
Hehe yeah I've felt a bit bad about not uploading any new content for so long but now it seems I have for at least two more clips and if I'm lucky I get to ride again before it gets too cold :)
Thanks :D Yeah hero 4 silver set to 720p 120fps and slow it down to 10%, I've started asking around to see if anyonne I know have a camera that can film in more fps for next summer. Thinking about shotguns vs fruit then :D
I really like it. But if you're going to get somewhere whit this, get a new mic or something. Because your ears wont stand that for so long. Anyways, Great video!
In case anyone wonders, the ammo used are handloads, pushing the 120grns a-max to 3000ft/s. It gets pretty explosive at those speeds, it´s my varmint load.
Just bought 1, will arrive tomorrow. I hope I won't miss my 05 zx10r. What's your consumption like? How many KM's does 1 liter do? I think I'd enjoy the lack of windshield as it makes things cooler, it's pretty hot her in the Philippines. Lol
I hope you'll enjoy it :) It's not as fast as a zx10r but it definitely hauls ass and with the bonus of being much comfier :) Regarding consumption I think it will be pretty much the same as on your old bike. Something like 6l for 100km but I don't have exact figures. Anyway, enjoy! :D
Thanks man! I know I'll enjoy it. It has dual akrapovic with a Y pipe, sounds like a subwoofer. I don't mind it not being as fast as a 10r, as long as it is faster from 0-150. :)
great review, do you have the stock gearing, or did you go to a 16t front sprocket? i know that going 1up on the front is a common mod for the 3rd gen Z1000's
Hey Ryan, the gearing is standard and I don't really feel I have any reason to change it since it easily kicks the front wheel up when I want it :) Thanks!
Good info, thx :) And yeah I agree, doesn't really need to be more easy to make it wheelie although I guess if you often drive long distance it might be comfy to add one or two on the front to get the revs down. I'd probably just leave it though so I can be a hooligan when the mood takes me :D
Yeah good idea man, thanks for your information :) I am currently on Ninja 300 practicing until I am confident enough to upgrade, not sure upgrade straight to 1000cc is a good idea, or 600cc class first, lol, thanks!
Anytime :) I started on a ninja 650 (or ER-6n as they're called here) but if you take it easy in the beginning and get used to the bike a few months before you start driving really agressively I think you could go to 1000cc directly. But then again, it's hard to take it easy when you're sitting on all that performance waiting to be unleashed :D
Haha, I may or may not have been watching alot of gradeAunderA recently :P I thought about making an entire episode in his style as a tribute but I'm bad at impersinations :)
Hmm if I were to choose between those three I would at least remove the mt07 partly because it doesn't have ABS and partly because it to me feels a bit cheaper. BMW probably has the best quality feel but I would probably go for the gsr. To me it looks better and looking at the stats I think it'll be more fun to ride although I haven't tried it so I can't be sure. Hope that helped :)
Interesting video and good to hear your thoughts on the bike. Am going to test ride one this weekend along with a F700 GS - I think I may prefer the F800R, have to wait and see.
