Thank you for this video. It was my thinking too. Please note that there is no evidence in quoted research if keyboard users were touch-typist (able to type without looking on a keyboard while typing) or not. If you are touch-typist, in my opinion you’re able to make notes in more profound way, as you can focus on a content itself instead of typing process and content transfer. What is now more clear to me is that thorough research of the subject: 1. Does actually not exist. 2. Is needed. Greetings!
What are the specific questions do you want to ask to those creators is the first questions I would ask if I were at your place. Make a list of all the questions you want to ask to all the people there. Be as specific and precise as possible and fully write it out with context with your business needs and what do you want to get out of the event. I understand that the questions you might wanna ask are very much related to people coming their who already have build a business similar to the one you are building. However, I think ChatGPT or any other LLMs would understand the needs of your business way more than any third person who is not in your shoes would be able to get your pov; SEE, I am not saying that you should or should not go. That is not something on which I want to comment on. That is entirely a decision you have to make with your expenses and money. I am only alluding to the fact that whatever questions you might have, give AI a shot, it might be able to answer your questions extremely extremely precise. All you have to do is make 10 or something personas of people who are the main people. (I know it might take you a while, but the time you will quote-unquote invest in building an AI which is a goodish replica of the people joining there will undoubtedly take you significantly less time and exponentially less money and other cognitive & psychological resources and effort. Give it a shot! And lemme know if that would be a much better option or if you disagree and shrug your shoulder to, "lol, why would I ever use an AI replica for something that I can actually ask the person himself instead of making their bot replica." I know the event is huge, and their are a lot of promises made, but give AI a shot first? If you still find that there are very specific questions that you really need to get an answer to then why not contact the person you already have their contact information like tiago or thomas? Your thoughts? Would Love to hear them!
Doesn't seem worth it to me, but I'm not a social butterfly. The way you have described your life and the event, it would take a level of organnizing that is beyond me. So maybe don't take my advice.

I get that it is difficult to try to use the same development pattern you’re used to. Coming from obsidian to essay is definitely a challenge. I honestly recommend going through the tutorial of essay to understand the assumed workflow, which is kind of great.
HTML and CSS are very easy to learn and understand. They are the basics of the web and most children learn the very-basics (which is all you need for this) in middle-school.
Looks great, but now the plugin is obsoleted. The same way as Big Calendar, By default new notes creation don't work for Daily Notes, some documentation issues, no fixes for new issues. Does somebody know plugin with same feature of drag'n'drop on timeline (0:25) for tasks creation/edit?

I made a small change in your template, which I thought might be helpful for others. {% if annotation.allTags %} {% set tags = annotation.allTags.split(',') %} {% for tag in tags -%} [[{{ tag | trim }}]]{% if not loop.last %}, {% endif %} {% endfor %} {%- endif %} With this change, all the tags you added in Zotero to your annotation will be added as new notes [[tag_name]]. In this way, your annotations in different papers that share the same tag will be linked to that tag.

Hi! Thank you for the video! I find FullCalendar very convenient, but I’m having some issues with it. It generates a lot of standalone notes without any links. For instance, I use it for household tasks like “Clean the kitchen,” and I often have 3-6 such tasks per day. As a result, my Obsidian is cluttered with numerous individual notes that lack context. Initially, I planned to create special nodes like “Tasks” and “Events,” and then create subnodes like “Household Tasks” or “Study Tasks,” linking individual tasks to these nodes. However, I couldn’t automate this process since FullCalendar only offers a single template that I can’t modify, and the manual linking is quite cumbersome. Do you think this plugin is unsuitable for organizing such small tasks? How do you manage them? Are there any alternative solutions you would recommend? Thank you!
Interesting to see the movement from research to work and how it affects the systems we have. The integration of a pkm with other tools and people, er even worse, enterprise environment where you have zero control is the hardest trick to pull.
Nice to hear an interesting different perspective from you. I'm fully deeply invested in Obsidian but I'm currently enjoying using a Cornell Notebook for a self study math course.
From experience Justin’s framework and the bulk of what he’s saying makes sense. I don’t think we should dismiss tools at all, but there’s magic that does happen when you physically produce with writing versus typing. We’ve had wiki software you could use locally for over 20 years and it just never works as a second brain effectively. I think Obsidian can be used to great effect, but I don’t think we can get away from physically playing around with relationships - maybe VR / AR will change that drastically. I like the idea that Obsidian could potentially show you relationships and sort of “where to go”. I don’t know if that’s more useful than AI chat tools though. Maybe?

Of course Obsidian is not suitable for everything. I only use obsidian for daily note and read tracking. In my opinion it's not suitable to use at work. it's not reliable. Plugins can caused data loss.
Still watching the video, but the concept you deployed in your notebook (around the 3 minute mark) is really interesting! Makes me wonder if I can leverage that idea in my Bullet Journal. Thanks for sharing this video!
Hey Danny, i've also stopped using obsidian as much as i used to (especially since I finished my PhD in psychology). One of my reasons for using obsidian less, is that I no longer use it for task management. I'm working on my own gamified life app; how can I best get in touch if I want to tell you about it ? :)
Just a thought... When you read a book, you could capture your ideas and comments as audio files on your phone, then use many NLP tools to convert your audio into text.
I'm trying out an eink notebook, using boox, since it's pretty open and you can install things like obsidian on it, too, and it shows up fine on camera because it's using ink instead of just lights to display the information. It's not for everyone, but it might be worth a shot, it comes with tools that do OCR so it all becomes searchable text which can be integrated into other places, and just use google docs from there works, too.
open broadcaster software (OBS) lets you share your screen or application content as a virtual webcam. You can also do compositing so that your webcam can be superimposed in the corner over it. Then you can get a green screen cheap off ebay and some relatively inexpensive lights, and "chroma key" your background out. i put that in quotes because if you google "chroma key obs" there's plenty of easy tutorials showing you how to do this.
