Well it's always the case of three things, isn't it? - was it cheap - is it rare - is it something personal (like an heritage tractor that was in the family since Grandpa bought it new.. And there is a forth "if".. As a total beginner.. I have an old xyz.. Stat I gave money to someone else every year to make it run.. (check oil, change filters, clean carburetor).. This year I might as well take the 250bucks, buy the spare parts and try it myself.. What could go wrong. Either it works and I learned some stuff, and find out if I like fixing it myself, or I learned some stuff and sell the xyz and get me a better one... Best thing about let forth method imo, - you learn once and for all what happens if you only fix your wheels so "that it runs" year after year, and ignore the rest. You see for your self and realize the difference between fixing stuff and proper maintenance. It took me for ever since to make my first project running! But I had fun and the next Project is a Mobylette AV 88 (Motobekane). I really like how LordMuck gives you an insight into all the pros and cons of a project. Imo that's vital information for people (like me) with less experience but want to purchase new old machines for fair prices to wrench on😁👍
I worked on a lot of these old 8000 series, bloody awful to work on, farmers loved them, all the fitters hated them !!! Suffered from the middle two liners dropping and cooling in the oil.
Having worked on machinery all my life from pinball and video games to semiconductor and medical device manufacturing, I find that I really enjoy seeing something that I could have gotten into, the heavy and light equipment that you work on. As with Diesel Creek and Bruce AUS, your channel give me an insight to how things might have been it I hadn’t gone high tech. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worked my fair share of cars and trucks and other small engines. I converted my Bug from six to 12 volts (motor in and eight times in one day grinding the bell housing to fit the bigger flywheel). Just about the only thing I haven’t done to a Bug is separate the body from the pan. Now I’m rambling… Love your channel as I work from the oldest to the newest videos. Having a grand time, get in!!
Don´t ask me why. But 12 years ago my dad bought a Ford 4100 unseen - meaning he purchased it without seeing it first. It turned out the tractor had been driving many years in front of a salt sprayer for a municipality. There have been many problems with corroding brakes, rust damage etc on that tractor. Salt and "motorized vehicles" are just not a very good combo. This video confirms it too.
I like the UK Ghostbusters style cleaning ..🧽 Sweet mini tractor.. didn't see that fat sound coming🤓 Awesome 😎I want to have one of those Cycle Cars with this Motor in it..
There is "this one Dog" for a lot of us.. that was special and near to our hearts neighborhood than others. I had a Bernese Mountain Dog..about 20 years ago..and the Cat that grew up with her. They were like Beavis and Butthead. Two Friends that I very much loved like nothing else! Still miss them little idiots!😔
Obviously there are People that haven't a clue what sweating and humid weather plus dust (or Wooddust in my case) is doing to people who wear Glases... You just do what works! Everyone else: Please sod off & watch Teletubbies
Mr muck I love that you put that comedian Legend John Candy in your videos.I wish you could have went out and seen his buddy Sam with scrappy industry with that sweeeeeeeeet superliner mack he has. I'd love to see a video of you peg scrappy and Matt together. by far that would be an epic video. take care Lord Muck. ❤❤❤
1/2 inch drive DeWalt 20V impact driver. I use it for changing between sown and street tires on my Lincoln Mk Lt and people along the road with flats. It was very helpful for the family in the Winnebago that had a catastrophic blowout in front of me.
‘68 International six-pack 4x4. My Dad and I put a utility bed on it (had to extent the frame) and a five speed box (noisy). Had lots of family and hunting trips in it. It was lost in a forest fire in 2001. Now, I have a Lincoln Mk Lt 2007, great truck!
I agree with your rant on the current state of health and safety (more bubble wrap, please...). If our fore-fathers had been this namby pamby, we'd be eating everything cold and raw. Fire is dangerous... lol Great video and good job getting the shovel moving and working again!
Bonjour Prolan for me, have you tried Massey Ferguson MF 7 to 12 nice little lawn tractor looking like period big ones....but sized to my barn door! I saw how i could set a mover deck and have a set of pulleys pn the front.
I remember that Young Man, Just North of Me here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, doing a will it start on a snowblower, generator, weedeater, Air compressor, etc. etc. etc. all in a one car garage in the basement of a home. He was a Natural from the Beginning & I gotta say, I Told Him So!!! Never Figured it would only take him 2 1/2 weeks😂😂 but Matt is as Deserving as they Come. My Opinion, I know there is sensual tension between you two fellas you little MUCKER!😂
