Damn that was a bad video you reacted to. So full of wrong information beginning with the first fact… The Viking age started in the late 700’s and not in 990… 😂 And the AI voice is just creepy.

Why would we unite? We all live good lives as is and have good relations with each other… We have been one way back when Denmark was a superpower… 😅

But in my oppinion tho. scandinavia dont really need help from Nato. It is a safetynet. for sure .But if you think as of today that if Russia tried FInlads borders. You would piss off a brother and sisterhood that has been in balance for 1000 years. The small clashes we had was .. Nice land.. small fight.. But you do not want Scandinavia to go in revenge mode.. hence viking

Someone have to tell the people who are making these videos (as the one you are reacting to), that The Faroe Islands is NOT Denmark !!! I'm Danish and I would love The Faroe Islands to be Danish since it's so breathtakingly beautiful up there and the Faroese are such nice people, BUT, out of respect for both The Faroe Islands and the Faroese population, I would never say, that the islands are Denmark !!! They are part of The Danish Commonwealth, but that is NOT the same as them being Danish ! The Faroe Islands are The Faroe Islands !

Copenhagen is not Denmark :) it is part of it, but so much more than Copenhagen to Denmark, yeah we get that you want to visit the capital and you see all those videos from there, but Aarhus, Odense etc. has so much history to offer for tourists and culture.

2:48 on paper we are a secular christian nation (like you can decide not to pay church tax... but its opt out not opt in).... but these days we have a lot of agnostics, atheists, a few jews, some muslims and a buddist minority. (and ofc there are also a thriving Asetro minority as a hold out from our pagan viking times). 3:15 its not so much that we are happy... its more of a "we are so content that we seem happy".

You think that it's restrictive to have a registry of names, but bear in mind that of the first names in the registry, you can name your kid something that would translate to "Beautiful C*nt Wrecker"

01:08, yeah, the list really isn't that restrictive. It's fairly easy to get a name added. It's simply to avoid a sorts of abuse, like names that will haunt the children. You probably couldn't get away with naming your child Ass Hat, for example.

You Brits would be truly amazed, if you knew how many very similar basic words the three very similar Scandinavian languages have compared to their English counterparts - and there are several grammatical similarities as well. So English is actually a fairly easy language to learn for Scandinavians, since we already "know" a simplistic core "Pseudo English" in advance and "just" need to fill in the gaps and climb a few hurdles here and there - for instance the peculiar use of the word "do" and the use of "-ing" with verbs.

17:03 😮 You guys are talking rubbish here. Ejer Bavnehøj or even Møllehøj isn’t by any means “slightly higher” than Himmelbjerget. Himmelbjerget measures 147 meter above sea level while the two others are in the 170 meter region, divided by a couple of meters.

I think if you consider the pregnancy in 'phases', the "getting a kid" phrase makes more sense. The mother "gets" a kid from the father to begin with, when the process is started, and the father "gets" a kid from the mother when the baby is delivered

Not the best representation of the city I've seen. It all depends on interests and time, but Trondheim got so much more than bakklandet and the Cathedral. Lots of museums, parks and general interesting places. My advice if you come to Trondheim as a student or tourist is get to know someone in the city before you arrive. Today with sosial media this is not a huge problem 😊 But the city is not the most tourist friendly. No saying we as a people are unfriendly 😅 but the city can look a bit dead unless you know what rock to look under. But I'm sure that if you ask somewhere on social media if you can join a boat ride or a gathering in a park, you want get no for an answer! And if you visit the city between 1st of May and 17th of May, just prepare to party 😅 Some of the students have their famous graduation party. That last at least 2-3 weeks 😊 Top 1 travel advice for Trondheim: Be sure to be there before the 16th of May and get a ticket to the local football game, and just go with the flow the next two days 😂 The 16th is our "football holiday" and the 17th is our constitution day (some say national day). If I know where to look this city got absolutely everything!

Norwegian bunads must be the most beautiful traditional gowns there is ? BU- means ( place you live Eks. Here I put up a house and here i will BU (live).) adding NAD is just grammar to make very old word saying this is a gown that shows of where you live/ come from. It has roots several hundred years back.

It is a misconception there's no word for please. The word in Danish is "behage" it was way more often used in the last century, my grandparents used it and my old religion teacher used it alot. Here is an example how to use it, "om jeg må behage dem herrer" ; may i please you sir:. Or, Hvis det ikke behager dem, så kan de altid smutte deres vej. "You can always leave and be on your way, if it doesn't please you. Behage/r means please/ing

A common alternative to "Tak for alt" on headstones, is "Tak for det du var" meaning "Thank you for what you were" - an open-ended and non-specific compliment and reminiscence of the person who died, for the positivity they brought to others.

Fun fact about Scandinavia : Norway has one of the lowest population density in the world ( #226 og 249 countries ), Sweden is #205 and Denmark #93. So even though Norway & Sweden is 8 to 10 times bigger, fex Norway has fewer inhabitants than Denmark ( so everything is far apart in Norway & Sweden ) Through history, most Scandinavian people have been living I Denmark due to primetime agriculture lands ( -> why Denmark also have ruled fex Norway until 1814 and Sweden until 1563 ) Also why you English called the vikings - Danes ( because the vikings mostly came from Denmark ) And please notice, that Copenhagen just became capital in 1387. There are much older and interesting towns around Denmark. Fex the old capital from 983-1387 - Roskilde ( =Vikingship Museum & Cathedral with most kings & queens buried together in the world=39 ) , or Ribe est 700 AD or Aalborg with one of the highest concentration of viking burials = 700 -> Lindholm Høje ect.
