It's too late now but I would have submitted a warranty claim since it was within the 1 year for the water proofing not being effective anymore. I would want to see how that would have went. Nice review.
Yeah I probably should have. I figured they would have been really good about it and sent another pair probably. As I didn’t really enjoy the overall shoe I didn’t wanna waste their time and get more free shoes I wouldn’t use. I may revisit and buy another model, one day in the future, to see if there’s any better water proofing. If I actually do that then I’ll probably submit a claim if they go 0/3 on waterproofing
I wonder if you just got unlucky back to back. I borrowed my brothers pair (different model) last year when i hiked Mt Fuji. My brother has had no leak whatsoever, and i used his vessi to hike, and had no issues. On top of that, i did not even get sand in my feet at all when the floor was dry and sandy. But i do appreciate your honest review.
Well I’m glad to hear you at least have had a much better experience It makes me think about revisiting them again one day. Try a third style perhaps 🤔 Just not in the immediate future
Well that’s sad. Sorry to hear that. We never did get any comments or Instagram posts about it. I can’t imagine someone found that by accident. Even if a dog had made off with one of the sticks.
For some reason I had a message in my Instagram junk box saying “Here Goosey”. It was mixed in with the usual colourful message requests. Apologies for not seeing that and sending you on a literal Goose chase
Thats strange I’ve used a few Vessi and even when the knitted material allow water through it has never sipped through the rubber layer below. Was it something you managed to talk to their customer service about?
Honestly they’d been kind regarding the possible defect (mentioned in the vid) and given the full value gift card already. The other pair I got also leaked so I didn’t bother following up further. Just haven’t been a fan of them as shoes overall, for a few reasons. I’m sure the customer support would have helped, but I didn’t wanna get another free pair or waste their time
I’ve honestly not heard of that one. Just found it on UDisc now. I know there was definitely a couple we wanted to try on our next trip. I’ll add that to the list!
Had some more time with them on the weekend in better conditions. The Pure is definitely understable like the Grace and Explorer. Tony will be happy overall I think, but I’m sad as they’re all my favourite molds but are too flippy straight out of the box. We’re at a reasonably high altitude as well, so I’m interested in how understable they were flying for people closer to sea lever 🤔
Much appreciated! We definitely love playing Lloyd. We actually just filmed there a couple times over the past few weeks. Just been too busy to edit and upload them still. Is that your home course then?
That's weird, I got the Chelsea version of these boots and was walking along the beach the whole evening with the water to about ankle height. The insides of the boots did not get wet at all (and no sand either) and I was pretty much soaking them in the water for a couple of hours. The Chelsea boots for me I can say is 100% waterproof, I was looking to purchase these ones too but it's apparently not waterproof? I wonder if the many stitching and multi-layer panels that they attached on the stormburst may have compromised the waterproof-ness since the Chelsea has a more solid simple one-piece design.
Oh wow that’s really interesting to hear! What I can say about the Stormburst is that the inside layer has a seam right down the middle. When the leaking started it essentially matched that seam line, and then ultimately just got super wet from there. Might be the problem spot for leaking 🤔
hope to see you guys around some local courses! Good vids! (i used to live down the street from that Community centre)...first DG course I ever played!
Oh interesting. I got the same 4 like the ones Johannes had in one of the L64 Instagram posts. Was curious if they were all just done in the same colours. I’m not big on orange so I’d likely be wishing to swap for yours haha
@gomeruh60 my RU-vid channel buddy Tony has made a claim for it in the end. He knew I really wanted the Pure and Grace first. He’s taking the Compass and Explorer
Haha yeah almost! It’s a fun shot. For some reason most holes in our city play to RHFH/lefty backhand. This hole often has the wind come in from that right side. You can just float shots out and surf it in to the basket. Really satisfying when you get a good one
Oh yeah the Calgary Stampede is in full swing currently. They call it “the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, but I’m not quite sure how they get that distinction haha definitely a big deal for the city tho, and they’ll be doing the special Stampede Breakfasts all over the city for the 10 days it runs for 🥞
I throw a Grace and a really beat Wraith, picked up a Drive to try and for some reason I cannot get it to come out of my hand clean, don't know why but it always has a terrible wobble. I like ESP plastic and have thrown it for years (yes there can be a huge variation in it over the past 10-15 years) but don't feel that's to blame but just cang'tget a good release on it.
Yeah it might not be a slickness issue, but I can definitely relate to what you’re saying. Just couldn’t get a comfortable clean throw with it. I want to get some more time with it, but I might also just look to sell it on and not beat it up too much. Feel free to update if you have any better luck with yours 👍
I honestly didn’t know they had halo ones Not all the fun plastic makes it’s way to Canada sadly. I’ll have to see if I can find one. Thanks for the info!
Hey you're a lefty too! i love how simple your form is. I did notice though that your wind up is super fast! maybe slow down that walk up and just burst right at the end. might not lose your grace anymore! love the content nonetheless!
Thanks for the tip! I’d also noticed I was getting off balance in my build up too. Likely from going too fast. I’ve been a little off since returning from a chest injury. I think you’re right about my wind up. Just be slow/smooth and then explosive at the end
I bag a couple star wraiths and then a couple z nukes. Always wanted to try a grace, but they were hard to find when they came out. Great comparison videos, cheers
Thanks for watching! I was able to snag one of the original Tattar ones a couple years back and was hooked. I own 7 at this point 😅 I do need to test the stock ones more and see if there’s actually a real difference. I have two but I’ve only used them sporadically. All I can really say is that they are both noticeably more flat compared to all the Tattar ones.
Thanks for the honest review. Like everyone else, you also saved me some money. I am from Vancouver, and I was hoping to get a pair not only to be waterproof while hiking but to support local. I am disappointed as well
Old video but since Ballista Pro was the most consistent and its stability kept it from flipping I'd use those. Thanks to this video I bought both Rive and Ballista Pro from a crazy sale from a random Hardware store. :D Bet they're a bit beefy for me.
I hope they work well for you! 😊 my other addition these days is the Grace (Tattar versions specifically). It’s a step down from the BPro and makes a nice trio… not that I’m trying to push more discs on you haha
I watched quite a few videos and was about to buy these until I watched your review! Really happy i did and equally dissappinted in all the other allegedly honest reviews...You just save me $150+ and a lot of frustration! Thank you!!! Subscribed.
Thanks I appreciate that! I don’t wanna overhype the Berg, but I feel it’s value gets lost between people loving it in excess and other people just hating it with a red hot passion haha It’s genuinely a worthwhile disc tho Go for it 👍
@@letsdolf I did have it in the bag for a little while. I did like it especially for forehand approach shots. I took it out to get better with my other putters. I wanted to work on my touch. I feel like the Berg is almost a cheat code lol. I should put it back in as it is a great disc.
@sc3639 right on! My one buddy is all about the forehand berg shot too That’s cool you were working on your game tho. I’m in a similar situation where my straight shots are kinda messed up. Need to get that touch back. Might actually start with the Berg as I’ll likely have some aiming issues starting out. Use its power to keep my errors minimal haha Then get back to the Pure
Some good forehand rips for sure. I like the look of the Jawbreaker Z Flex plastic. It kind of reminds me of the Fractal plastic that Prodigy just came out with, but more lucid. You guys should have a Jawbreaker Z Flex vs. Prodigy fractal challenge.
Love it! Always enjoy watching Nate B's big old slappy forehand and we even get a tutorial from the man himself! Also I will be calling him Aaron Sausage from now on
Déjà vu you say?? 🤔 Haha an unfortunate side effect of us sucking and that course getting really busy around 8am. Had to bail. I knew we had that shot as a worse case scenario tho haha As both Tony and myself a dealing with injury issues we’ll likely have a N8B solo feature coming soon 👌
