I dig your investigator approach here! Diffuse curtains are great! Thanks for the break down on the subject of light.

Why am I just now learning about this? I always thought root rot was from too much water, and now I realize the soil I'm using is probably not airy enough. Thank you so much!

If you want to get serious about lightning for plants, you should use PPFD and DLI instead of FC or Lux. BTW, 189FC is actually still very low for most plants. Pothos is a plant that grows outdoor high up on the trees and it can take direct sunlights for a few hours. It will survive beside your window but it will not be that happy. It is about the same needs as Monstera, if you gives it 100-200ppfd it will be happy, which is maybe around 600FC

Diatomaceous earth. Almost all the indoor pests can be killed with this because there is very few type of soft bugs (such as slugs) for indoor plants.

Hi i had to come back to this video. I bought my beautiful fern at a garden centre. Without proper advice I kept it in direct sunlight and watered every other day. This plant very quickly let me know its on the decline. I decided i was going to try and save it. After doing some research alot of stuff about it being difficult and temperamental n fussy ...i was nervous n had low hopes of saving this. Your video was helpful and gave me confidence that I can do this. Im so happy to report that since i watched ur video a week ago my beautiful plant has 8 new curly fronds poking out the ground. I have such a connection to it and cant wait till shes lush and thriving again. You are a wonderful and motivating gardner.

What is optimum DLI for Aglaonema? Supposing that it is 6DLI, how we can reach it with 40 Ppfd, mentioned in your website?

Good day. What is your recommended DLI for Aglaonema? If you suggest 6 DLI, I can't reach 6 DLI with 40 ppfd

I had an infestation of these on my orchids, I didn’t know what they were, until the whole collection was infected, I at first thought dust got on them from the pool construction going on. I tried for a year of treating them, I tried peroxide, alcohol and water, Neem max and finally a spray for roses that’s for thrips… I just had to throw my whole plant collection away yesterday. Lost 70+ plants, mostly orchids…. 😢

Hello, I have a Dieffenbachia Crocodile, but all the lower leaves die off and I'm left with just the canes and some leaves on top. It doesn't look full and leafy like the one in the video. Is this normal for this variety?

Mine is recovering from just being a rootless rhizome! The leaves are already black around the edges although the leaves are small and more round due to stunted growth

How about growing lights? I have growing lights and when I measure the light with an app it says it's insufficient because it doesn't take in the bulb as a light source. However, my plants (peperomia and string of hearts included) are growing nicely so far under a couple of growing lights. Will a light meter take into account the light that a growing light emits?

Noooo, no darling, they naturally grow on forest floors with lots of shade, exposing them to lots of bright light is the wrost thing to do! Ideally they should be placed in shade but near good light
