We are building our channel into a "Med School for the Public". Our whiteboards are visual lectures that are high quality but (we think!) also highly engaging.
No it's not a journey it's as simple as quitting and taking it one day at a time with reluctance and dedication not to start again. It gets easier with time.
Watched this video for a class and it is the most helpful video I have seen on QI! Thank you so much Dr. Mike! Your messages are very crucial to the healthcare system.
Hi Doc, I don't mean to be rude but. The alternative for quitting that's being offered is ALTERNATIVE HEALTHY BEHAVIOUR like ridding your favourite Bike.........
Started at 11, stopped at 22. 27 now and couldn’t be more proud. One of the hardest things I’ve done but I’m happy now that it’s done, and that’s what you have to remember is that there is an end point. You WILL feel better after feeling bad now as that is the sacrifice. CBD no nic cigarettes and CBD vapes helped a ton, cold turkey on nic otherwise.
I am 12 days off. Now it is getting easier to control my mind. In first week, it felt like I said no and the mind refused and virtually visited the nearby shop and smoked
Today is my first day, was planning to quit smoking but procrastinated, but today Dad found out my pack, it was pretty embarrassing and they were very disappointed.
I smoked for almost 50 years. I quit a year and a half ago. It was amazing. I was coughing up lungs all day and night before I quit. The first day, I stopped coughing. Like any addiction, it's more mental than physical.
If you want to give up JUST GIVE UP do not listen to people who will tell You it is hard to stop smoking. Do not use nicotine patches OR gums they are just making lots and lots of MONEY for the MANUFACTURER. Just Use your own Will Power and strength of Mind and Your FRIENDS AND FAMILY to stop smoking Tobacco if you can.I gave up smoking Tobacco 23 years ago. One day I said to Myself I will stop smoking Tobacco and I DID.MR Leslie Malcolm Cyril Bishop Brett The Groovy Groovemeister and Lyricist Extraordinaire and a very Optimistic Optimist. (I also understand that my way of giving up smoking Tobacco is not for everyone but it could be a starting Point. MAYBE ????)
When I crave cigarettes I make a payment off my credit card for the price of cigarettes. The longer I can not smoke the more financially better off I will be
my kidney doctor was bugging the crap out of me wanting me to come into the office for dialysis training. i come in (I don't mind) only for them to show me a 10 minute long youtube video (this exact one) that i could have viewed at home so my caregiver didnt have to come out and deal with me and my situation. then they didn't really answer any questions. "Watch the video it will be all you need" needless to say i'm switching kidney doctors.
I'm trying to quit smoking cigarettes at the moment I've cut down i went from over a pack a day down to about twelve a day my anxiety and depression has gotten worse plus I'm trying to quit drinking coffee as well to anyone else trying to quit smoking cigarettes I wish you the best of luck and godspeed.
I simply can’t eat in moderation. The only way I lose weight is fast 2 days, eat one. Two steps forward, one step back. It’s easier to fast than to eat in moderation.
I spent 14 years on stage inhaling 2nd hand smoke before indoor smoking was made illegal here. The $150/month inhaler I need as a result comes out of my pocket since the government that made billions off cigarettes will only help those who chose to smoke and got illnesses. 🤬 So there's another reason to quit: You're harming and or killing people who are around you.
I have had these pains for 10 years...and it was because of chronic pericarditis. All of it, the arm the neck the chest, arrhythmia and all. Shortness of breath...but the mind blowing thing is that even cardiac MRI cannot detect the inflammation...so the doctors just gave me the diagnosis based on the symptoms. I was given colchicine, stayed off gluten (causes inflammation) and killed h pylori (there are papers saying it can cause pericarditis as well) and was in remission for 6 years...but it came back after covid and eating gluten pluys getting h pylori again from the poor quality of water. However, given that h pylori is out of my system, is not enough to get rid of the pericarditis and arrhythmia. The key is staying off gluten...gluten is an inflammatory protein even if you dont have an allergy for gluten nor tested positive for gluten, it can cause inflammation anywhere in the body.
I had a heart attack a year ago, zero of these “warning signs” occurred. But I had most of those symptoms during the event. But yeah I had no “warning”
Fart is a part of life. You dont fart you die. If fart is inevitable. Fart and enjoy it. Fart if it safe to do. Fart to plants and they will thank you.
