@@m7med581 hello! Unfortunately I couldn’t find one - you might need to find a seller on AliExpress who specialises in LCD controllers and ask them. There are people selling the panels (LP079X01) showing them hooked up to a controller - they’re MIPI interface panels running at 768x1024 so it is the same as the original iPad 3, just a matter of getting the connector and wiring
Non! Désolé! Je suis retourné à Australie et j'ai dû le vendre. c'est devenu un taxi à Nanaimo. j'ai maintenant une camry hybride et une subaru forester, mais je me souviens avec tendresse de la prius ❤️
This video made replacing the side mirror on my wife's Prius super easy! Thank you! The old mirror cover went right onto the new one and it looks as good as new.
This video is probably 8 years old when I was watching this. I must say, this one is probably the most accurate and step by step. It's clean and it doesn't do any damage to the door panels. However, i am running into the issue with taking apart the door handle plastic cover piece. @ 2:38 into the video, you used some kind of pointy tool to stick into the hole of the where the lock is and used the tool to loosen something inside. I kept going back to 2:35 when you said to use a Num Notching tool. Right when you stuck that in between the lever and the hole, it seemed like you were able to loosen something inside which doens't say where to target to loosen the plastic covering. Can you please explain how this is done to loosen the plastic cover piece? Most other videos i've watch damage this plastic piece and because of that, i don't want to try their other approach to it. I think yours seem to be the best apprach to replacing the side mirror. I know it's been a long time since you published this video but hopefully you'll still see this. Thank you
Hi there! Thanks for the feedback. Still happy to help with questions! The tool I’m using is a “non marring tool” - it’s from the computer repair industry, designed not to mess up plastics while prying on it. You can get metal picks from most auto stores which also generally safe to use if you’re careful. Good luck, take it slow and you’ll be fine :)
Alex, I did the job in less than a half hour thanks to your excellent video. I seem to have lost the little metal clip that you mention at 3.20 in the speaker cover. Does anyone know the part number for that metal clip? Thanks.
Excellent! Sorry, I don't know it - most auto parts stores will have collections of metal trim clips which will probably have something that fits, or you could go to a Toyota dealership and ask
@@DawsonMakes for your viewers, the Toyota Part # that I got was 90468-04157. It is a small metal clip which cost $2.99. When I tried to look the part number up on line, it did not look like that part that I received however. Thanks again for your video.
Thank you so much for doing this video. There are a lot of us techies out there that just need instructions and good people like you save us a lot of grief with mechanics.
Thank you for your step by step video. It took me no time to take the old one off and put the new one on. The mirror I ordered came with no instructions. I greatly appreciate the video you made.
Tara Marumoto, I go over it at the beginning, just a 10mm socket driver and a screwdriver to replace the whole thing. Might need a few other things if you need to change covers, and no tools are needed to just replace the piece of glass
Hi! Sorry, there were a couple of versions of PSUs in the Apple II, and this less common one didn't have rivets, or they had been removed in a previous repair by someone else, so it only had screws. For the other style, use a centre punch to establish a mark in the centre of the rivet, and then drill it out with a M3 drillbit. Good luck with your repair!
I just replaced my own side mirror! I bought the part on line, followed this video and it was a snap. The hardest part was determining if I had side airbags. I called the dealership where I bought the car brand new, not too helpful. I just proceeded as if there wasn't one and voila! Done....thanks for the instructions.
Yes, it certainly takes longer to do it when recording a video and commentary on everything you're doing :) I think this took me about 45 minutes to film, but when I pulled the one at the pick a part, it was only a minute or two
Hypatia4242 there would be an "srs airbag" logo on it - I think I might be wrong in the video. I believe the airbags are either in the pillar of the chassis, or the roof lining or the seat, not the door card (of the Prius - other vehicles may have them in the doors)
Thank you! My (2005) passenger door does not have such a logo, but my passenger seat does. The door looks exactly like yours. I think I'm good to go for a self-attempt at repair this week. Fingers crossed and very grateful for the video.
I did it! I had to use a flat head screw driver to pop the door panel off, but otherwise it worked perfectly. Also picked up some cheap touch up paint online to address the paint scratches on the back of the mirror cover. Thank you so much for the tutorial - it saved me $350 dollars!
+Alex Dawson lol of course, thank you for the help. Was just asking because I saw another tutorial on here that made it seem so much harder and they took out all of the cables in the door including the one where the door locks are . So this one seems less invasive . I just got the driver side mirror yesterday so I will be doing this today thank you!
+simpliyvonne Ah yes, I found that one. You only need to remove all the buttons etc if you want to totally remove the inner door skin. You don't need to do that to change the mirror - you only need to move it slightly up and out to unplug the wire for the mirror, which is near the top of the door. Good luck!
thanks for this video. If it is a heated-mirror, how do you remove and replace then re-install the heating element on the new mirror? Can you pls. show us how?
+Robert Ballesteros The heating element is a permanent part of the mirror "glass" - at 9:50 I disconnect the wires going from the frame to the heating element. Since I didn't need to re-use the glass in the new frame, I don't show reconnecting it, but it's just a matter of plugging them into the new frame. They are not polarized. If you have bought replacement glass online and it doesn't have the connectors on the back for the heating element, I don't think you can move it over or add it - there is very strong adhesive holding it all together. Hope this helps?
Very good. I bought this part from Doorman products and I tried to put the new part back but it will not click and attach. I pivoted the mount motor to the full range to make it easier but still...I cannot "click" it back. Any possible ideas or suggestion please?
+Robert Ballesteros I looked up pictures of the Doorman part, and it doesn't have a heating element, so nothing to reconnect. Regarding it not snapping into place, the white plate inside the mirror is very strong nylon, so don't feel too worried about about pushing very hard, just make sure the "hooks" at the top of the mirror have gone into the right place in the plate. Also check the hooks to see if there is plastic flashing inside them from the mold process that might be stopping them going up far enough, if so a nail file or something will clear it out pretty easily.
Thank you so much for posting this. Had an incicdent recently where I got sideswiped by some woman who was texting and driving. (Strangely enough she didn't get a ticket for that!) We slapped mirrors, mine shattered, but stayed intact, also knocked the painted cover off. I tried to go the cheapest route and just replace the glass, but as I was doing that I realized I have heated mirrors, so the regular glass wouldn't work. I ended up ordering the entire mirror from Amazon. Then googled this video to see how to replace it. WOW!! So EASY!! It literally took 5 minutes!! Thanks again!
