Shopping for new appliances is more stressful and overwhelming than it should be. That's why Yale doesn't just sell you an appliance. Unlike other stores, we also deliver, install and service, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your beautiful kitchen for years to come.
Rather than shouting at people through advertising, our goal is to inform and educate you so you can make the best decision for your next appliance purchase. To that end, you're seeing videos based on the hundreds of common (and not so common) questions we hear in our stores every day.
Yale Appliance is a New England-based appliance dealer with locations in Boston, Framingham, and Hanover, MA.
What’s with the noise fettish? How bout performance in scrubbing? Solid mount not bosch wobble. basket was fine for silverware what’s with this tray bs?
You guys test a lot of dishwashers!! Recently my family got a brand new Samsung dishwasher, and sadly... it pooped out on us😭thinking about getting a bosch... but do guys you have any other recommendations thats possibly better? (That wont break in 10 years tops😅)
I have the latest Bosch 500 series and in the past, have had the Miele 800 series. The Bosch is good enough, but the Miele was better - and considerably more expensive. And I wasn't a fan of buying the costly Twindos cartridges.
It was a very nice comparison, but you did leave out one set that I happen to think is an exceptionally great compact set and that's the Electrolux. They give great value for the money. They work fantastically well and have few service calls.
It’s too bad that Miele dropped their W 48XX washer and T 98XX full-size series as we still have those models, but are now looking for their replacements as a proactive measure. The newer Miele styles are not really new (other than technology adds), but based upon European specs with their physical sizes and load capacities therein. They are small units requiring additional loads and increasing times to finish both washing and drying, which is fine if you wash a load daily, but if you have a designated wash day, then you will literally be spending that entire day doing wash. Also, why no mention of ASKO? Thanks
Are you seeing many issues with the Bosch 500 with Self Cleaning condenser or am I just the lucky one to get the lemon that gave up the self cleaning and now doesn't dry at all (even after running all night)? I paid over $3,000 for the Bosch 500 pair and wish I had known about Miele at the time. Live and learn.
I am 5'7" and I can reach items on the top shelf of my SKS column with flat feet on the floor. This comment about having to be 6'3" or over 6' to be able to use the top shelf of an SKS refrigerator is not accurate. Also, the SKS wall oven with steam combi does not have "intermittent steam" or "steam assist". My SKS wall oven with steam has full steam above 250 degrees. You are correct that the steam is throttled back at 212 degrees so you can not steam vegetables or rice in it. This, however, is because of the door seal rather than a steam limitation. From the spec sheet I found that this wall oven has a 1960 watt steam generator in it. At those lower temps below 250 degrees, the water would condense in the oven and run out the bottom of the unsealed oven (which is why SKS doesnt allow full water to go through the steam generator at those lower temps). Just thought I would clarify a couple things from my own personal experience.
I am a bit disappointed in your videos lately. You have been critiquing high end appliances. Many of your viewers cannot afford these. Please return to reviewing appliances that we could buy.
Since haier now owns GE and thus the Cafe line, is this a brand we can trust for its reliability? That's the only question making us hesitant to buy this very day.
Which island hood do you recommend for the 36” all gas Café CGY366P2TS1 range ? Something in the mid price range. I have heard that I have to divide total BTU by 100. (91000 /100= 910 CFM)
Depends on how you cook....stir frying may need more..That said, you can build your own with a wood enclosure and then buying the power pack. For island, Best has some decent styles.
I just got the latest Bosch 500 washer which is a newer model than the one tested. Right from the factory it had a cracked interior valve causing a leak which was not obvious right away when the installers ran a test cycle. Only after a second fill cycle did the internal leak detection kick in and stopped everything. At least the leak detection worked. Waiting n a backordered cheap plastic part for a brand new machine. Dealer won't straight up replace it but insists on repairing it and they have my money and I have no leverage. Bosch responded with the usual Germanic indifference. I really want to contact the CEO of Bosch direct but they make it rather difficult. Previous Bosch lasted 21 years with one service call.
Murcury is misspelled. Mercury is correct. I would swear that Steve once said about a year ago that the build quality of Elise and Mercury was not good.
What??? How much are you all getting paid? Bertazzoni makes some of the best stoves out there. "Regret" cooking on it? Flipping a house I'd rather see a Bertazzoni in the house than a CHINESE LG, SAMSUNG or Kitchen Aid. You guys are crazy. Spend some time in Italy. I lived in Europe for 20 years. smh LOL
OK...we service what we sell and have experience with all these brands to the tune of over 100,000 calls in less than three years. LG, Samsung, and KitchenAid are not Chinese BTW
@@YaleAppliance1 yeah, you're being paid to make Samsung and LG seem better than they are. The way you just made Samsung seem like it's the best thing ever is obviously biased. We have companies over here in Sarasota Florida that won't even carry Samsung and LG (Mullet's Appliances is one example) because the repair problems are so great. Had a guy from another company in Naples tell me they are about to drop Samsung and LG from their lineup because they can't keep up with repair calls and it's overwhelming their man power. Seems like the only major companies carrying them here in South West Florida are Costco, Lowe's and Home Depot. That says a lot.
@@YaleAppliance1...o' and regarding the Bertazzoni stoves, absolutely ridiculous review. Bertazzoni makes some of he best stoves out there, although Italian. Right up there with Wolf. So, I'll place a large bet that the majority, large majority, of people using these stoves would not "regret" cooking on them. Albeit, those that can actually afford them because they're not cheap.
I despise Samsung for their go to market strategy...But I am not going to tell you they have issues when they don't. Except for repair which is deplorable, but the product is generally good.....This is bad for me, BTW since I don't sell it anymore
My 19 year old Kenmore Elite made by Bosch just bit the dust. I loved that thing. Looking for a replacement is frustrating because nothing that I have seen can compare. All I want is a stainless steel tub, an adjustable upper rack for when I have large pots in the bottom, two baskets to hold all of my flatware, and a lot of room for dishes and those pots and pans. None of these new ones look like they will hold as much as I could get into mine. And although a third rack for putting all of those smaller items on sounds like a good idea, it just takes up too much space and seems like it would block the wash and rinse water for the two main racks. I need to make a decision soon because I'm not fond of doing all of my dishes by hand. At least I am able to put my hand-washed dishes into the racks of my broken dishwasher to drip-dry, so that I don't have to have them dry on towels on my counter.
Why don't you mention gas dryers in the comparison? Although gas prices have risen, I would chose a gas dryer over electric evertime based on faster drying times from my limited personal experiences.
Some feedback, when you make a tier list video, make the graphics larger so we can actually read them please, you have a ton of screen loss where you could instead make your tier list larger and much more visible. Thanks
Imported stuff is too small and i don't trust that the warranty is any good. Better of trying to offer up an enitre Kitchen install at this point actually.
Please encourage SKS to offer more induction top options (ditch the sous vide) in their 48" and encourage more brands to include a steam assist oven in their ranges.
@@YaleAppliance1 Something YOU don’t quite understand is 30% is NOT an acceptable number and if you think it is, you’re part of the problem. Especially for fridges that cost 3 grand. Keep feeding these people lies, and people get screwed out of a lot of money because of your suggestions. Be better.
@@YaleAppliance1 not Samsung. Using your numbers…30% is not an acceptable rate for something so expensive. That means 3 out of 10 will fail. (Most of the public cannot afford a $2000, $3000, $4000+, appliance.) You have to admit to that at least. Idk what is the better option…that’s why I’m watching these videos. I’m trying to find something so I can give myself the best odds of getting something that won’t fail in less than 3 years. Go anywhere - RU-vid, Reddit, and other appliance reviews - and there are overwhelming negative reviews on Samsung and LG. And btw, if you’re gonna recommend things online to the public, you have to know you’re gonna get scrutinized heavily for your choices. That’s part of the game. And if you can’t handle the negative feedback, maybe you should do something else. I’ve had my fun with you. Time to look for a fridge that won’t fail in 3 years. You can have the last word.
Interesting in America they don't have the newer models. they released last year in europe 2023 march or something similar the Series 8 is what it is called in EU. Dryer, dishwasher and washing machine. (The home connect version machines). Very stable
Hello, thankyou for this video. There’s not many videos with all this information. I’m debating between the Wolf and Bosch benchmark. My concern is the Bosch looks and feels softer than the Wolf and looks like it would scratch and crack more easier than the Wolf. Does the Wolf have a scratch resistance material on it and is it more durable than the Bosch or are they made with same exact material? Would you say Bosch is as good quality and durable as the Wolf? Thankyou
Gee, how the hell did my grandmother's bake all those pies and cookies I loved as a kid, without having a $10,000 refrigerator, a $10,000 range, a $5000 dishwasher, a $1000 blender...etc. If only they were still alive so I could ask them. Of course I would have to also ask my late parents just how on earth they were able to DRIVE from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles in 1952 without GPS, Sirius, air conditioning, and no credit cards!!! 🤔😳 People are spoiled, selfish, ignorant, and sucking up oxygen that they shouldn't be. If Proctor and Gamble made $2000 per roll Charmin, im sure that these same people would be in que for it. 😧
What about the thermador 30 inch range? Oven is small but the cooktop seems to be the only one where you can use two 11 inch pans at the same time. Or would you instead recommend the freedom cooktop paired with their wall oven?
A lot of the problems come from moisture affecting the electronic circuit boards. Because of the environments they are exposed to, you would think the manufacturers would encapsulate them with a conformal coating moisture barrier spray, but they do not. Moisture eventually corrodes the trace or bridges sensitive components on the boards and they fail, resulting in expensive repair costs. All in the name of saving $5 worth of conformal coating spray. Lame.
What a load. We are still using a 42 year old Kenmore washer / dryer set and a 30 year old Gibson fridge. Only things we had to do to the washer was replace the water solenoid valve ($28 ) and the drive belt ($14 ). With the dryer, we had to replace the drum belt ( $18 ) and the timer. That was kind of pricey at $62. The fridge has been bullet proof. There IS a lot of truth in the old saying "They just don't build 'em like they used to".
@@YaleAppliance1 Draws 4.15 amps. Annual usage @85% cycling runtime is about 2200Kwh x $0.15/Kw ,at our rate, is about $338 a year. I don't think that's too out of line, power consumption wise.
How can i get some guidance from you because I lol'd when I went to a local appliance dealer (not Yale and not in your state) and had the worker give me a quote that was full of errors. After opening that 48" SubZero or the Fisker & Paykel large doors with the huge exposed hinges really made me feel great. Im thinking of waiting for Memorial Day sales to see if I can pick up a Wolf+Fridge+Bosch DW+ undercounter fridge/wine rack.
KitchenAid is the worst dishwasher we ever had. Lasted maybe 2 years, before it started leaking; replaced diverter. Then the pump broke; replaced the pump assembly. Now 4th year in, this thing can't wash anything. Dishes come out filthy, dirty, oily. Have to rewash everything by hand! We had a whirlpool, builder grade dishwasher before, worked OK for nearly 8 years. Never purchasing this cheap, Chinese grade brand again! Have Bosch on order!
Love the videos -- thank you! Please consider one recommending refrigerators for smaller (older) kitchens (i.e., in the ballpark of 16-18 cu ft; 30 inch wide; 68 inch tall). With all the supersizing, these are a challenge to find from top, reliable manufacturers!
Some supposedly counter depth are not really counter depth. Who can trust LG? To claim they are reliable now is hard to believe. There are still new lawsuits being filed, on the NextDoor app, I've seen more complaints about new LG and Samsung refrigerators than any other models.
I hear ya....but in order to not drive yourself craze, way more Samsung and LG is sold than any other brand. You have to look at service percentages. We obsess over service because it costs so much. Then, the industry has a handling issue. delivery and warehousing cause some of the problem as well. I feel your pain, but your pain will be as bad if not worse with most of the other brands.
