Scotch Whisky Whiskey Reviews....for the most entertaining reviews on RU-vid....Bart and Scott are a couple buddies who found Scotch in 2007. Join them for Scotch bottle reviews and some comedic banter. It's like pulling up a chair at their table and having a dram. Slainte.
Got the Sanaig with a little help from friend. Hopefully batch strength will be available in my area. Moving from tornado alley to Florida, hurricanes, alligators and insects oh my!
One thing weird for me i noticed, if I'm drinking my whiskey outside, the nose changes completely to when I am tasting inside. Not sure why or if anyone else experiences that. Something like Ardbeg 10 I can barely smell smoke when sitting out in the patio.
Love some Kilchoman. I’m not a fan of the 700 mil either. Springbank 12 CS is a 700 also. Didn’t realize that until I got in the car. Come on distillery’s make them 750 mil.
Glad you liked this,😂 now I will put it back on the shopping list. I was excited for a day or two to see it on the shelf. then I expected it would be nothing special. Always quality, but probably yourhful BS. Nicer to have an age statement but it is reasonably priced for a Kilchoman. The big age statements and special cask releases are a little crazy$$$. My go to Kilchomans are the USA releases. Good ABV, good cask influence and good value.
This is a huge fave!! Delicious and high quality! Outstanding!! You guys crack me up!! Here's to diction!! Bart what's with the 700 mg?!! They out out to get you!! Hey congrats on the moving news but I will miss you guys doing reviews together in person! Will they continue via Zoom?!! Hope so!! 🙂
I absolutely adore Westland! Looking forward to trying their new additions. Although I will say, I'm pretty sure McCarthy's was the first American single malt. I still need to find a bottle of that one! Just FYI 😉😊
The Edinburgh Whisky Academy now has an online course on American Single Malt Whisky that teaches on the requirements for the category and you can do an interactive tasting in one of the modules with 6 samples that get sent to you. I just completed it, it is quite extensive. 🥃
Great video Guys, I think I'm going to like this one!, great as allways, good job Scott, Good job Bart!, oh by the way, youre 198 cm tall Bart,( or 1m, 98 cm) !
I’ve had the opposite of this with beer (Innis & Gunn) aged in whisky casks. Some of the Irish whiskeys (Jameson Caskmates) have used stout and beer casks. Which they had added an age statement on this one.
I don't think they officially passed the definition of American single malt. I think they "proposed" it but it's been sitting doing nothing for 2 years. Gotta love gov't. Something that should be simple to define can't get done
These suckers cost $100-$125. That’s ridiculous. I’m buying less of that and more of the standard single barrel for $40-$45. I have a couple now, but once they’re gone I’m done with them. Prices keep going up and up and up. It’s a great bottle at the old $75 price. It’s not just me. These take a lot longer to sell out. That said, great review. On a side note. Is it just me or is RU-vid whiskey viewership way down? A lot of channels are just disappearing and only some of the “big” and gimmicky channels are getting views. Another sign of the apocalypse?
This is prolly #1 Selling scotch in most, if not all of Latin America..... ppl there typically pour this into cups and so the strainer helps control flow.. U find the same strainer in other bottles in latin america.... i personally like it... i drink it on the rocks in whisky glass. I live in Colombia half the year and thats where i found buchannas and am now a scotch lover
ECBP just started showing up in my costcos again for the first time in 4 years. I’m still limited to the regular Four Roses everywhere not online but fingers crossed.
Love Four Roses, hard to find here. Last time I got one for $117 for my wife's birthday. And here it is. Flavor profile cheat sheet. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have it😂 OBSV: Delicate fruit and rye OBSK: Rye and baking spice OBSO: Rich fruit OBSQ: Rye and light floral character OBSF: Delicate rye and mint OESV: Delicate fruit and caramel OESK: Baking spice OESO: Rich fruit and vanilla OESQ: Delicate grains and light floral character OESF: Herbs and mint
"It's still there on the side of the bottle, aged for 12 years" Not this year unfortunately, so if you come across any bottles from previous years that aren't bumped up in price, buy one. Or two...
