I guess as they get passed down to new buyers the sedans were the more popular choice so the wagons probably were more likely to head to wreckers. Less of them to begin with as well. Not sure what the ratio was.
It really does come through. US car guy here, I'm very fortunate to own a VF SS in the form of a Chevy SS. I"ve always wanted a Holden ever since I learned of the VK SS in 1985, finally got one in 2017. My wife wants a VN SS but there aren't any of those here!
My dad has a V6 VS ute too and been telling him he needs to get a new diff because the diff is a little loud and I’ll swap them out and it’s not the first time I’ve played with diffs so I know what to do
@@sebastianbutler8520 In 2010, new paint, mixed to the formula, perfectly matched 23 year old paint on my VL Brock. If UV made it yellow, then the new sections of paint around the windscreen would have stood out like dogs balls. They blended perfect, and the match was so good that nobody seems to be able to pick what I painted and what was original. Same Alpine white as used in VN.
sometimes yes but VN did have an off-white and it changed a couple times from VN to VS Heron (as seen on the VS) is the first true white When you put holden paint samples next to each other you can see it
Great content, their mate. The car you remind me of is a 2002 Mitsubishi Magna VRX sedan - the associating song for that car that you remind me of is called - Blue Sky Mine. I dare say that you have heard that song quite a few times. All the wonders of my Asperger's sense of humour. Regards from William. Bill's Channel 1987 ******************* I do have quite a few videos on my channel that you might be interested in checking it out if you wish to do so. Cheers, take care.
You need to get hold of a VP-VS1 in Alaskan to complete the mix. Alpine ran from late VH to late VN, and is very creamy. I have photos of my VL Brock beside a white Camry and the Alpine white almost looks beige. Alaskan took over in the last few months of VN, and ran into VS2. Before VS2 finished, Heron white took over (and continued into VT/VX). Both the later whites were much whiter than Alpine. One has a more blue tinge to it.
@@stevencuenca1980 VH was Alabaster white, and yes, it was creamy too. Very late VH (iirc around Dec 83) went to Alpine. VC had Palais white, which was much brighter than Alabaster.
Alaskan was basically just white tinter with a bit of black (and a tiny amount of 2 or 3 other tints from memory). It makes it look slightly dirty compared to Heron that swapped the black for blue tinter. Most of VS were Alaskan - Heron came late in series 2 as Alaskan supplies ran out early (just like the 2 previous whites).
Going to have a look at a WH Series II Caprice today that my wife’s deceased 85 year old uncle left behind, been enjoying the statesman videos and might have one by tonight.
I’m with you. I may own 7 Aussie made Holdens, but I daily drive an Aussie Ford, and have owned several of them over the years. I like them all - Chrysler Australia too, and even Mitsubishi and Toyota had some good local models. The ironic part is most of the whiners on FB drive 10 year old piles of crap, and often times it’s an imported bit of junk. They have never bought a new Aussie made car in their life, nor have they bought a 3 year old used Aussie made car. Yet they’re happy to spend that same amount on something imported. And why is a 3yo used one important? If there is market demand for a particular used car it helps keep the new market for that car buoyant. How? When there is demand, the price is increased. So these 3yo cars are now worth more, and higher 3yo values means higher lease residuals which means lower monthly lease costs, making the cars more attractive to user-chooser fleets. As I found in BF & FG for our company fleet an XR6 had a much higher residual value than an XT, so it was actually cheaper on a monthly lease than an XT. The bonus is the reps much preferred an XR6 over an XT, so morale also improved.
I grew up die hard holden fan and have owned many. But as ive gotten older and learnt to appreciate things more ive grown to appreciate ford aswell. They made some great cars. The AU is a masterpiece, maybe not in looks but the engineering is unbeatable! I. Glad the rivalry is alive and well but i just wish that crowd would be more light hearted and appreciate both for what they are. Neither brand would be what it was without the other.
