Thank you! I had two G master lenses: the 24mm 1.4 and the 85mm 1.4 but ended up only using the 85mm because I absolutely love the compression coming out of it!
I love your photography, please put out a video outlining how you got this good. I know there's no silver bullet, I know you worked hard, but this would be such an interesting video.
Thank you so much! In short it’s practice, practice, practice and a lot of patience :) but I will see if I can somehow convey my process through the years. Again thank you from the heart
I used to use that lens almost exclusively on a M4-2 and is my benchmark street photography lens. There’s just something about its rendering that is special. Enjoy it thoroughly!
I totally agree with you about the rendering. There is definitely something going on there. I actually didn’t believe it at first but it’s very noticeable!
Woah Double duty hit the nail on the head! Best of the best with the leica M6 AND Portra 400! Nice edit man! SUBBED! Hope to see some more vids of you shooting so I can live vicariously through you. I'll never be able to afford a leica lol. To cope with my jealousy I just put out a vid making fun of stereotypical leica shooters. Check it out if you gotta second.
Great lens. And yes 35mm is just more versatile than 50mm. Always found the 50mm like a tele. Btw, try a 40mm like the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.4. Fantastic rendering. I have modified mine, so that it now shows the 35mm frameline on my M10. This is actually very close to the real image, since the Leica M frameline is a bit narrow compared to a 35mm lens. So the 40mm works great on the M10 when framing. You can try mine if we should meet in the Leica cph store at some point ;)
@@kieulannguyen1193 you have to file 1 mm of one of the "taps" on the lens mount with a needle file. I would suggest you Google it. There are some images on how to do it. But remember after this modification, the lens won't bring up the 40mm frameline on cameras like the Leica CL or Minolta CLE.
Oh! So it’s one specific model of the Sumi? Damn my bad, thought it was just the 35mm Summicron in general. I do love the bokeh of this lens though! :)
Bravo! Thank you for sharing your wonderful work, Bobby. An unexpected and relaxing experience as I am about to doze off to sleep here on the east coast of the USA.
Bobby, this wasn't what you intended and it wasn't what I expected -- but it turned out to be four of the most relaxing minutes that I manage to experience this entire day. Beautiful piece. Thank you. Be Blessed, Doc Chaps
I like this Q bag, it doesn’t look like a camera bag so attracts less attention yet it’s well constructed and the water proof leather protects gear well. I carry Sony A7C with zoom lens or Q2. The only four not perfect points for me are it seems easy to leave greasy finger print, the buckle is not easy to close with one hand, the hardware on the strap has a gap can catch some of my cloth and I wish it has a handle. I also use a larger Boulevard bag, which fits 11” iPad Pro plus enough gear for travel and there is an optional handle; so other than the leather is not as water proof as the Q bag, it’s a great alternative to Billingham Hadley Pro Small.
I need a bigger version as well when I am lugging around more gear. Luckily they have some awesome options :) I haven't had it for so long but I will definitely look out for your four points! thanks
Honestly, this channel and its content is one of the most underrated on youtube - which in my eyes is a shame ... Thank you Bobby for sharing this kind of videos for free. I personally appreciate each and every one of it very much! 💫
wow... thank you so much! your comment is exactly what motivates me to keep going so I really appreciate you saying that. I'm an impulsive person and driven by emotions I feel at a certain time. If I can just help or guide one person that's enough for me :) I have started this series of "Real Talk" recently because that is something I wished I had when I first started out. Sorry for the rambling lol. Anyways, I appreciate you!
Hi Bobby, my name is Bryan, Nice to meet you on the YT platform, I just discovered your channel, I’m also trying to start my channel, my specialty is more in the line of VR content, I subscribed to your Channel because i’m also very curious to see how you grow your Channel
Hey Bryan! welcome :) Well I can tell you this lol, growing on RU-vid is not the easiest. Ive been at it for three years now and haven't even gotten over the line yet. But sometimes is not even about that, If I could give you one advice it would be to just work on your own pace and don't worry about subs and views and all of that that jazz :) Right now I'm just enjoying the process of creating for the people that are taking there time out to follow along on my journey and I deeply appreciate that :)
I can totally relate! along the same lines my dad always tell me. And thanks! these types of videos are also me talking to myself so happy that its helping!
Thanks! Yeah it becomes a routine but I always feel like I see something new every time. Light changes, people change and there is always something new going on in the same place :)
Love my GRiiix, my GRiii, my GRii, my RX1 Rii, my XT30ii, my X-Pro 3, and my A7CR w/24mm F2.8 G, and my Q2-M. Smaller is better. Unless you're a dentist on a safari.
Leica D-Lux 8 ? oh yes. still rocking my RX100III and woould love to have new DLux. Used to have DLux 4 and it was great. There is also possibly new Sony RX1 coming as well.
oh I loved the RX100! yes that was I was referring too :) I think they might drop a new one, I certainly hope so. I think was way to ahead of its time. I actually also bought a Leica C-lux 2 and it takes amazing photos. I have set it to shoot BW jpgs
New subscriber to your channel but I sometimes see your videos on my feeds here in RU-vid, I amazed of your videos about photography and about leica, so many youtuber nowadays just tried to give some opinions about the leica or new leica then it's over and go for the new things, I'm tired of that, good to see you're video and I hope you're channel will grow more. I didn't know about the Hobolite only when your video goes again my feeds recommended video on RU-vid then I watch it, it's compact and nice to have like what you said in this video and I'm curious about it. I'm still new to leica M few months still learning the camera I'm looking for the flash or lights for lowlight situation, it's hard to find one especially the small and compact one that fits on my leica m, and this Hobolite is great because of lithium battery, than the AA battery for flash and you can charge it by usb type c which is available on my mobile battery when I need to charge it. Thank you bro for sharing your opinions, thoughts, photography, leica experience, etc. 📸🙏👍
Love my Q3! it works for portraits and everyday versatile carry. If I know I’m going to focus on portraits my Nikon D5 with a 28-70 2.8 will be in tow as well.
