The Illinois quartet -composed of Tyler Dennen (Vocals), Eugene Kamlyuk (Guitar), Derek Bolman (Bass) and Christopher George (Drums)- cultivates a strong concoction of abrasive, angry music and raw, unfiltered emotional honesty. In recording and through live performances, Sworn In delivers an emotional outpour through words and with music to match that intensity. Produced by Kris Crummett (Issues, Crown The Empire), Sworn In's third full-length album sees the group reach an apex of their indefinable assault thus far, gleefully stitching together a ragdoll of heavy metal, hardcore, goth, punk, and alternative best described as Slipknot covering The Black Parade. The album is the follow-up to the band's 2015 release, The Lovers/The Devil, which earned acclaim from AXS, Alternative Press, New Noise Magazine, Blabbermouth, and Billboard, who praised the "originality" of their "punk-inspired cacophony of down-tuned mathcore."
It's 2024, and this is still the saddest, most depressing, and most bitter album I've ever listened to. A cry for help and the weight of existence spill out of the speakers. Brilliantly played. EDIT: I mean All Smiles album and additionally this track.
*every time i listen to this absolute work of art, this unique masterpiece...* i think about a club where everything is painted black with neon light bars on edges of architecture that change with music, a dance floor so dark that slow strobe lights actually work, everyone in the crowd is a type of goth. And you see that special someone across the club, you lock eyes. Its magical. The moment is perfect.
*this sound track is epic. This is literally what i think about when i think of goth techno / technoGoth.* I actually dont like american horror story at the time of writing this. Those comments disrepect this music.
Crazy, I used to get looked at funny back in high school cause I listened to sworn in and was my favorite band. While everyone else listened to bvb, wcar, bmth, lol
All his lyrics are so fuckin whack "my heart turned black" like bruh that's like elementary poetry also "the herder is an illusion, there's no hope for the sheep" was completely made up with no context or anything it just sounded cool "Show me fuckin dead I'll let my eyes roll back into my head wishing I was dead wishing I was dead" my response would be "kill yourself without me being there, you want to be emo and have all this attention? Kill yourself without anyone there to see it"
