Welcome to my channel. I often say "where nothing goes with anything else." That would best describe it. I usually put things of interest here that friends have expressed. I like to restore and repaint and rebuild vintage sewing machines that have been left in the dust, sometimes quite literally. I feel it is better to have them in use than in a land fill. They tell a story, even if I don't know what that story is when I receive them . I also like to post some funny animals, wild and domestic. Some of my videos are from many years ago of Brooklyn, New York. I hope you enjoy watching. Terie
Hi. I paint as a hobby. I paint machines I acquire. Right now I don't paint other person's machines but I know someone who does, if that is what you are interested in.
Yes. I thought about that a little too late but I will revisit that one and add a longer zipper. Thanks so much for watching. See ya soon on the next one.
I get them on Amazon. They are called silicone plugs. Many brands out there, so I don't think it matters which ones you buy. I spent about 12.00 on mine. Thanks for watching. See ya soon I hope.
Great Video. Glad she is sewing for you. Did you notice any sound difference after making that adjustment? What method do you use to plug holes before you paint a machine? I'm getting closer to that step on one of my 99s.
I think I heard a slight noise, nothing that alarmed me. I am glad I got to figure it out. Took some research. So I use silicone rubber plugs I get on Amazon. tinyurl.com/thz9t7sn I hope you get your project started. Just do it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. Be well.
I'm SEW happy that she's working - yay! Once you started explaining what was wrong, hubby and I discussed how we could sed someone who had her before ypu, loosening things up, probably having little, if any, idea how to fix whatever was happening at the time. They must've given up and not turned the screws back. Great detective work!! Thank you for showing the bobbin tension meter, as I wasn't aware there was such a thing (running to order one!). Great video and I'd love to see the dresses! 🧵👗🪡
Good morning Marie. Thanks so much. Yes, someone loosened things I never thought to check. Even inside the machine I found loose screws, something familiar to me. LOL. I found those AFTER I did the video, which would have caused the machine to malfunction had I not investigated. I suppose they were trying to "fix" her. Each machine brings a different set of skills, at least that is what I am learning. At least she is working now. Eventually they need to find new homes but for now I will not evict anyone just yet. lol. Thanks so much for watching. And yes. There are so many little tools out there. It goes on and on and on. 🥰💓
Thanks. After having to take apart that bobbin case so many times with the tiniest of screws, I was about to give up. But what was I going to learn if I had? Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
YAAAZZZ!!! I am so happy to have her working and not sitting in the corner to think about her behavior!!! 🤣🙃Now she gets a spa day. I mentioned a name for her but I forgot to clear it with you lol. Laura Bella. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by and watching. Hugs.
I just bought a Singer 301 at a thrift shop for $20. I've been a bit untrusting of the handle and only tried it out a few times, but always with a hand on the underside. But with your missing handle in mind, I'm not going to ever use it again just in case it breaks. :o)
Hi there. I know. I do know that the handle is for lifting the machine and made strongly, but I agree that I would be cautious and I too will not depend on it to carry the machine. I did buy a handle someone had on eBay but I didn't install it yet. I love this machine so she is set up and I have been using it regularly. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Stay well.
Those stitches look 👀 good, the machine not so much but I know you can do the work to make it beautiful. Can’t wait to see what you do with this machine, thanks for sharing
@@sewterie Do you by any chance restore stinky Featherweight cases? I’ve seen a few tutorials on how to do it but I’m not sure that I want to tackle that task on mine.
@@noemir8262 I haven't yet but I am trying it. Here is what I started so far. I will get back to it after I paint this machine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RsOl5UtNvo4.htmlru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RsOl5UtNvo4.html If this link doesn't open, go to my "videos" and you will find it. Thanks.
The Featherweight shop has a series. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gp5JVVuPVZo.htmlsi=R0G2yS01cuZ5oi8f Go here. They do a great tutorial. I have watched them for many tips to getting the case restored. Thanks again Noemi.
Hi Jo. That is why I showed it. It is not all pretty but it is very do-able. Wear gloves if you don't like slimy things or pretend you are fingerpainting. lol. Thanks so much for watching.
Me too. Still deciding while I wait for some masking supplies to get here tomorrow. I have 3 colors in mind. That is way too many to choose from for me. lol. Thanks for watching.
Teri, I love this video! Great 301 but very pitiful owner! I laughed & laughed & laughed at the stink! It totally would gross me out too! Sad about the FW ☹️
Hi Glenda. I am glad I made you laugh. She came in stinking and now she is smelling sweet. Her case is still in quarantine!! lol. Yes. That featherweight is a task and a half. I still have hope to get her going again. I have too many projects going on and that is not like me at all. Thanks for watching.
Another great find! I appreciate how you assess the machines for functionality before completely dismantling them. That measured approach will always benefit you.
Hi Mona. Thanks. I agree. Someone could be using this one but they would more than likely never take the plunge from the looks of her. She will be a beauty I hope and will make someone happy. Thanks so much for watching and for the support.
I love it. Troubadour. Thanks. She will be awesome. At least that is my hope. I have done others so I have that on my side. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
It is crazy, right? I am so excited to get started on her. And in between I will keep trying to get "Little Beast" working. Not giving up just yet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day..
