This is great! Would also like to see a video how to tighten / fix / repair hinges when the screws come loose and they have stripped the wood. Is a bigger screw the best option or do you fill the wood? The handyman who is helping me with my hinges now does not know what to do!! Help!

I wish that you had shown more close ups of the glass, it would have been interesting to see the delamination pattern up close in detail. Where did the glass come from? Your samples visual appearance is very reminiscent of what laminated glass looks like prior to the autoclave process when being manufactured. Of course the video doesn't really show the delamination up close so it isn't possible to get a closer look.
@madmikemakes3056
@madmikemakes3056 3 месяца назад
Hi Greg. Apologies I seem to have missed your post. The picture was actually sent to me from a friend in Johannesburg. This type of delamination is quite common. I've been seeing it everywhere.
@gregcorwin8316
@gregcorwin8316 3 месяца назад
@@madmikemakes3056 Hi Mike, I am not sure what you mean by picture? I was assuming that was an actual laminated lite behind you, but is it a picture?? As I mentioned in the first post, the haze in the glass behind you is indicative of laminated glass that hasn't been through the autoclave cycle. Assuming the laminator is using a traditional heat and pressure roller line and then autoclave, my immediate thought would be that they need to lower the heat on the line and extend soak time on the autoclave cycle. Just a quick thought without knowing their process or examining the glass in person.
@madmikemakes3056
@madmikemakes3056 3 месяца назад
@@gregcorwin8316 Hi Greg. The thumbnail is a picture that was sent by a friend in Johannesburg. As for the process for laminating the glass, it's anybody's guess. I just see loads of laminated glass showing this damage.

Hi Mike, thanks for this. I just bought a 2nd hand 10XC with a blown motor (I knew that!), good deal. I've now replaced the field coil, armature and bearings. What a job with all that wiring and soft-start/speed controller in the mix! All working fine now. Next up I want build a mobile cart for it. I was thinking of putting a shallow tray just below the saw to catch and easily throw out any dust that falls down. I've now added your shroud modification and general sealing of all crevices to my list 👍🙂 I only have a glorified vacuum cleaner, so want to get max suction around the blade. I'm also looking into noise reduction, perhaps sound absorption material inside, but taking care not to block motor venting. Greetings from Cape Town 😁
