Hi everyone. I am just an average person with a full time job and a family commitments who likes to create music and experiment with gear and software. In my videos I am trying to share my findings and discoveries in everything music related.
I hope to find people with the same or similar questions who may have answers for me, who are willing to talk about things I am interested in and discuss related matters. If you are one of those - please leave your question or comment or thoughts...
Back in the day I was considering this and a Yamaha motif. Went with the motif. But this board still to this day is fascinating and holds up well to the test of time.
Do you still have the Roland Fantom 06? I also have one. When I hold down the bass keyboard button and quickly turn the master volume back and forth loudly and quietly, I get a scratching noise. not with the slider. Is that the case with you too? Thanks.
@@crazypainter56 Korgs of that generation, including the Z1, are notorious for the display going faulty. From what I understand, it has to do with a chip, and not so much with the display itself. There are no replacements.
@@crazypainter56 Good to know. I did a little googling and there are a lot of questions about where to get replacement screens for Korgs of that generation. I hope that you won't encounter any issues. I have a Wavestation SR myself, but that has standard two line LCD display.
Nice, man. I have one of these, it was an inheritance item from a friend, and so far I've mostly used it as a midi keyboard for my main computer, because the keys are the best ive ever owned, and it had poly aftertouch. I think I'll dive into the manuals a bit. I can see myself getting quite a bit of use out of the sounds, and it looks like it can do an awful lot. Those drums sound great. I'm a bit concerned about using magnetic media again, but what the hell. I have hundreds of those floppies, some of them will work, surely 😂😂. Great video, thanks man. Edit oh those samples were a bit cringy.
I've got a MODX6+ but miss my Virus TI2 because of the supersaw. But then I come back to your video and it calms my GAS. What's the best way to get a supersaw on the MODX?
I also went from Motif XS/XF --->MODX --->Fantom06... my disappointment was almost exactly the same as yours in terms of the pianos and acoustic guitars. BUT after experimenting with all the free additional expansion packs I found happiness! EXZ002 has the "Ultimate Grand" which in my opinion is one of the best piano voices Roland Has in their library. I very much prefer it over the CFX piano in the Montage/MODX. for Acoustic Guitars try EXZ006 which has "Acoustic Brothers, Solo Requint Guitar, Ac.Gtrs SRX". Also EXZ 008 contains "Spanish Guitar" which in my opinion is one of the best acoustic guitar voices you can get... All the best...
Good work can you help me how i use to use RPPR on my own korg karma is a function i yet have not used. last brick in the puzzle. korg karma is deep. i tips get valhalla super massiv and use that in the mix with korg karma is magic. where do i start to use rppr in korg karma and what steps i have to follow to get a song on left side on the keyboard.
Thank you for your question. I would not know the answer for sure but those sounds are included in MPC One+ as far as I know. I would suggest to doublecheck it on the MPC website. Thank you for watching!!!
Thank you for your comment. I have to admit it does not sound the same as Roland Fantom 0 series but it is good enough considering the price. I returned it since the MIDI support is not there - only one channel can be used with PC. Thank you for watching!!!
Thank you for your comment - it was a really good setup and I liked it. I also like the sound of the chain considering the cost of it. Thank you for watching!!!
Love the dark sound from PMC, so much more easier to listen to, vocals are set balanced into the mix! Focal sound nice, but forward for long listening sessions!
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, my ‘evaluation’ was not correct at they time of making the video due to a number of things. I am looking to get those back into my studio for re-valuation soon. Will be posting video as soon as. Thank you for watching!!!
Hi there - the MODX is really powerful but there is a steep learning curve to operate it at its full potential. It is great tool for the buck though. Thank you for watching!!!
Impressive for a Keyboard Workstation that is 23 Years Old I love some of the Sounds - I can get a Karma for like 350€ to 400€ in my Country is it a Good Deal for that Price?
Thank you for your comment! I think it is a good value for money. KARMA is very rich sounding and can produce really nice sounds!!! Thank you for watching!
Hello, i'm Angel I have a Korg Karma also and its hasa the greatest sounds!!!. I just want to know how to store my favorites sounds or performance during live performance?
Thank you for your question. I am afraid I would not have the answer for you. I never done any live performances with these type of keyboards - I mostly work in my home recording studio. Sorry that I could not be any more helpful. Thanks for watching!!!
Thank you for your question. Yes, I do. I may do it today or within the next a few days as I am selling it... Please check back shortly to see if I have done it! Thanks for watching!!!
I`ve listened to both mixes in my studio. I honestly think that PMC mix although being a bit too dark (I agree) is definitely way better balanced with much better stereo field whereas Focal mix is not balanced and too bright with vocals being too much upfront and not sitting in the mix (kind of karaoke sound, like singing to the background music). I prefer PMC mix but it is a bit too dark sounding, Focal mix balance is totally off and it`s too bright for sure in my opinion.
Thank you for your time listing to the mixes and for the comments. I am considering taking the video down since it does not represent the truth about any of these monitors reviewed. I rushed to get those set up since I have had a limited time with both of them. After spending more time with at least Focals I have realised the errors in my room correction EQ and had to completely re-set everything to get the true response from Solo 6. Also, I have realised that the feedback I have provided to PMCs was not accurate too. So, not sure if I should just remove the video... What is your thoughts on this?
@@amateurmusicstudio i think the video still shows how the monitors perform (through the mixes presented) in not ideal room treatment (like you said). I mean many people deal with similar room problems and can find this video useful. I think
@@amateurmusicstudio I'm really looking forward to watch your new video/hear your new comments about those two monitors, how they compare, how they perform after spending some time with them and correcting the room problems. Keep us posted. Thank you
@@LucasMichalski Thank you for your request. It looks like there are a few people on my channel asking the same question - I will consider doing another video about these two shortly - possibly to replace this video... Stay tuned!!! Thanks
Thank you for your comments - I totally agree. The sound is full and rich... nowadays we seem to get all these super polyphonic synth with much more power on paper but in reality struggling to match the quality of the older synth... Thanks for watching!!!
@@amateurmusicstudio hallo stimmt genau was sie sagen habe korg m1 in band gespielt korg x3 yamaha dx 7 das sind legenden und unerreichbar natürlich korg karma ist der könig ich habe angebot bekommen kaufe mir einen.
@@amateurmusicstudio everyone wants the latest and greatest thing-just use what you have and explore it-I still have a korg Oasys -the King of keyboards
@@crazypainter56 Oh wow - I was really impressed with it when it came out.... I was even considering getting one but was put away with the complexity of the system reported by other users. If I were to be doing anything professional - that would be benefit to me but unfortunately, I have no time nowadays so have to enjoy simple things when I get 5 mins spare... Thanks!!!
@@crazypainter56 The PCM-subtractive section of the Oasys (and Kronos and Nautilus, after it) is the "heart" of the synth and is 85% the same as in the Karma/Triton "HI" synthesis engine - two filters per oscillator, 1-2 oscillators, big "AMS" mod matrix, two LFOs per osc with many waves, lots of independent fx and many algorithms, Combi Mode to layerand/or split 8 or more Programs.
Thanks a lot. What is your experience with SSL drivers? I am so tired of mediocre interface drivers that I was considering to go with RME but SSL 12 really has the right features for me.
Sorry for my late reply - I use MAC Apple - no driver were required as these are 'Class Compliant' - no drivers required. It worked as expected with no problems. The SSL 12 required drivers but again - everything worked smooth without any problems. I hope it helps. Thanks for watching!!!
Grazie per la domanda Ha tutto ciò che ha un normale sintetizzatore (fino a 8 strumenti contemporaneamente) più il campionatore in modo che qualsiasi cosa possa essere campionata con facilità. Spero possa essere d'aiuto. Grazie
