I HAD THIS! I had the fire truck and the gravel...freaking awesome! Does anyone remember another simliar set that came out around the same time; it had a cardboard layout though that the tracks connected to. I remember the carbboard was wrapped and it made it hard for the metal "dog bones" to connect to turn the gears to make the "action" happen. It was returned for this
That is incredible I'm 45 years old I would love to have that I would stare at that all day I used to love race tracks when I was a kid I had all kinds of them. this one though is simply amazing
Wow! Love it. I watched the whole thing. I grew up in the 70s. I always thought that slot cars were cool but lacking in operation interest so I preferred Electric Trains. Some how I missed out on these. Looks like so much FUN! Also neat that you included a Freight train on the layout.
Thanks I bought these for my kids when they were young. Stored in attic for years till I thought about doing this layout. I used to do trains when I was younger but don’t have a lot left from a flood we had into our home when I was a young man. I don’t know the scale size. They made these trucking sets from around 1980-1986. This layout consists of around five different sets combined with extra track and action sets and housing left over from my train days.
Found a bridge builder in Tennessee who builds commercial structures. He had material left over from some bridge projects and only charged for labor. He said better to pay his guys then to layoff off till other contracts kick in. It was over a Christmas period. Thanks
First of all thanks for viewing. it was 7 years ago done on an earlier iPhone. The intent was not the filming but the action set display. All in all who asked you for your opinion. Just sayin…
@@cak0304 That wasn't an opinion. It is a FACT that it is out of focus. It is my OPINION, that you're a crummy photographer who is too lazy to do a reshoot once you found out it was blurry.
What a Great Setup!!! Was drawn in to watch the hole 10min Video. I also had a 2 Truck Set as a Christmas Present when younger in NZ, unfortunately alot of the plastic buildings have become brittle and broken. Blue Truck for trailer work, Green Dump Truck and Firetruck. My 2 youngest Boys still love when it is setup and can still play for hours.
That is the shortest bridge I've ever seen. And I would have put either footings or piers under those walls. That's a hell of a lot of weight without a foot under it.
You said it yourself “it’s a short bridge”. That being said on one axle of any vehicle other than a car will be on the bridge at any given time including my f-450. He just paved his driveway and a 65,000 lb load of asphalt went across it and it never moved. It was installed almost 4 years ago and shooting it with a transit showed it has not sank one bit. The walls were poured 18 “ wide on compacted Georgia clay with a 10” ledge for the bridge to sit in. The Walls can’t canter inward because of that or outward because of compacted dirt and stone. So far so good. Thanks for asking.
The total cost in materials was around $9000. Coarse labor was donated at a cost of payback when the other firefighters need something done. There’s always a cost with the brotherhood. You know what they say “ payback is hell”. Thanks
You set that up in your bedroom? I thought it was funny because mine was also in my bedroom, as soon Christmas morning came dad took a picture of me and my toys and I made sure you can see the Tyco box. I wanted to grow fast now I wish I could do it all over again.
Yo! These sets are excellent what year were they on sale?. Toys these days are crap i mean totally! Could you imagine this system on sale now just wouldn't happen an the cost would be stupid. Im glad i came across this today as its made my day😎👍
US 1 Electric Trucking was the best HO scale trucking collection of all times. It is sad that they do not make these types of toys anymore, awesome layout.
Hi can I ask you where you purchased the bridge from my mother was hit hard with these past storms there is a church in Bat Cave NC trying to help her your video seems very knowledgeable and is the closest I could find that looks like my mothers drive way. This is the gofundme gf.me/u/i9k3qs I'm sure the church who started the campaign would love some guidance
Anita Pineda My son is the one who had a man from Tennessee build the bridge for him. It’s an actual bridge building company. I can find out from him the info if you would like. Sorry to hear about your bad news. His driveway was almost washed out is why we put bridge in.
Yes. That would be wonderful if you could get me some info. Her driveway originally was held by two huge metal culverts and that job was done maybe 10 years ago they have now rusted and been pushed out from all the rain and debris over the years. I do appreciate any information :)
the rarest set ups are: the airport, the army missile station, exxon station, and the tow wrecker these are extremely valuable! i will buy any of those! reply to this post, also the manual power lane switch track i have one and have never seen another one and will pay big $ if anyone has one
I have all the setups you have listed above i bought an estate sale couple of years ago. Currently working on an expansion of my original layout. Thanks for asking though. I think I do have a manual power lane switch track piece. Is the one your talking about have a brown switch lever?
Had this when I was young. Was always adding more loading / unloading stations to my set. Sadly my trucks quit working and I didnt know how to fix them back then.
I love this set......I had the semi trucks set RYDER RENTAL ....it was mint hardly used it.....lost it in a fire...it was a blast...I was like 10 years old....that set there was my dream set!!!! Your granddaughter is a lucky girl to be able to run a set like that!!!! Amazing!!!!
M Mill Monolithic slabs are foundation systems constructed as one single concrete pour that consists of a concrete slab with thickened portions of the slab under load bearing walls and all perimeter edges. The walls are 18” thick down to 12” and tamped virgin ground with gas foot tamper also included in the pour were 45 degree gull wings. Very strong wall.
