These camps have become a standard feature in CA. The homeless situation can not be separated from addiction, for most they are the same thing. Opiates marginalize and resulting population is marginalized by the legal system and financially marginalized and crime results obviously.
I think instead of making the homeless people out to be animals and nasty people. How about helping them instead of hindering them even more. You make them leave and destroy what little they have. And then for them to go where??? Open up the vacant lots and fence it in and them live in that area. Put toilets and garbage bins there to use. Give them a safe place to stay. So many people look down on them like scum but, 99 % are hard working people but, just can not pay the high rent. Plus water etc. Where is all the money the government talks about to help the homeless. I see nothing but, them being treated like dirt. Instead of like a human being. Come on people stand up for your brothers and sister's. I find it deplorable the way they are treated. Illegals get better treatment. free housing and free medical and food stamps from the governor.
Ahhh American dystopia in full effect. As it gets worse what do most Americans do about it... complain 😂. No real action, just talk about how icky it is and how these people should be moved out and treated like criminals. This is what you get as prices skyrocket and the top keeps getting richer and richer. Brace for a lot worse America. This is nothing compared to whats coming. So my advice to you is, stop complaining and do something.
It’s so easy to sit behind a keyboard and call people losers or this or that …. What do you folks talking all the ish plan to do? Oh yall don’t know ? I happen to live here unfortunately and yes it's disgusting I will admit that! Thank you for understanding unlike the rest of the people here....I'm not a loser and there are a handful of people I know that live here that I can say are not losers either we have just ended up in a bad situation that were struggling to get out of. NOBODY HAS DONE ANYTHING TO HELP US AS FAR AS THE COUNTY PPL GO....THEY ACT LIKE THEY TRY N HELP US WHEN THEY REALLY HAVENT DONE SH*T! THEY SPEND MONEY ON PUTTING UNNECESSARY HIGHER GATES UP WHICH COSTED THEM $200,000...BUT THEY CANT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY AND TURN THE OLD KMART BUILDING INTO A SHELTER OR MAKE LIKE LITTLE TINY HOMES FOR US SOMEWHERE?! THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING FOR US.... EXCEPT MAKE IT HARDER AND THEN EXPLOIT US...AGAIN THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING AND SPEAKING UP N BEING OUR VOICE, I WISH THERE WAS MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT WOULD UNDERSTAND BETTER!!!!
I've been close to homelessness. I've hit bottom before. I lifted myself up, went back to work, got a better job, and made a life for myself. Got away from oxy and everything else by choosing life and getting a job too good to lose. I own a house, am married and have kids, I have zero debt except my mortgage which is almost half paid off. 95% of the time it's a choice to give up and be a piece of shit. I used to be a piece of shit, and I decided I didn't want to be a piece of shit anymore. These pieces of shit can do the same.
@@jessdigs I’ve been actually homeless as well did not have the same luck it was near impossible for me to recover from that trust me almost being homeless is nowhere near the same as being homeless… unless you know the exact situation you don’t get to judge…. Question still remains how are any of you helping the situation? What are you doing to give them a chance or to make it easier for them to get off the streets? Or are you going with the mentality of well I don’t get help so no one deserves help … please just get over yourselves… the world would be a better place with more compassion…
This is tragic. How has this been allowed to happen!!!??? These losers living out on this trail have completely trashed the ecosystem next to the creek, and in the creek. They don't care about the environment, that's why there is so much TRASH. Unbelievable. No one should be allowed to do this!!!!! It could take months to clean up this mess, that is if anyone ever will 😢
You would be surprised at how quickly one's belongings can be cleaned up with a bulldozer. What takes longer is the trauma inflicted by police and vigilante people like this guy that seem to forget that homeless people are still people. Bet you haven't tried talking to them to hear their stories. People were told to go to that field by police, only to have them turn around later block the exits and tow everything, even people's vehicles that were just there to help, registered or not.
5:55 somebody getting uber eats apparently with the solar panel, the bridge, and basically the river providing water this place will end up becoming a makeshift neighborhood of homeless if police leave it alone Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to your interpretation of how you see things, but I just pray drugs are not part of this community and it's just people trying to survive. Getting rid of them isn't going to be easy, and I think at this point, just keeping that place clean from drugs might be the safest bet until temporary housing and other services can be provided to them.
Why are graphic non alive peeps in movies are showed but real life is not. If people saw the reality of car crash victims they may think twice about speeding or DWI.
Yes by all means, let the business spend millions on permits, and tenant improvements. Then have the police stand down during the next mostly peaceful protest while the business is looted and destroyed.👍👍 W.C.

I support Barbanica. Despite what the criminals posing as activisit say - we do need police in our community. We need to grow and prosper, that is impossible without police.
You do realise Officers in the department are facing Federal charges? And its Activists which I have no idea why that came into play Their gonna be in the purview of the DOJ
I'm over this, Antioch has homeless numbers in the 200s whilst surrounding cities numbers are around 50s. I just bought a house off Oakley rd, and we even had to rally together as a neighborhood to remove the 5th wheel that decided to live at our playground.
Yea well thats what happens when surrounding cities police force pick up homeless drive them to the antioch boarder point toward antioch and say “go that way” and go about their business

Who decides what's Profesional and what isn’t? Common sense. The human senses are naturally repulsed by excessive tattoos. So common sense dictates that tatts are unprofessional. It also shows narcissism and emotional instability.
I have no idea what has been said about this woman on social media, but her "protected group" rant is way off base. The legal concept of protected groups has to do with systematic discrimination in housing, employment, etc. That clearly is not the case here. If she maintains that she has been libeled, she can take civil legal action accordingly. Mystified why she detailed her employment attempts with APD or provided an enumeration of her offspring. Those subjects have nothing to do with the rest of her statement.
Great drone video of the homeless camps that have been getting worse. Unbelievable how many more RVs are now there. Such an eye opener seeing it from the sky. I understand from a homeless person that the people who sell drugs are in control of the area. If you don't buy drugs, you can't stay there.
I see now why Antioch is in the situation it is in. If we aren't more proactive, we will have the rest of Contra Costa County in the tank right along with Antioch. I am tired and done with diversity hires with outsized representation. This person spent a lot of words saying nothing. There is nothing but crime and destructive behavior in Antioch and it is spreading to the neighboring towns. Enough justifying professional failures and blaming everything on racism. Enough of this.
And what real fixes are they going to do to actually fix what causes this... nothing. Another kick the can down the road by f%$king nimbi a*&holes. F*$k your outrageous property values. That value is meaningless if nothing is actually done to help your fellow humans having to live in these types of conditions. Is a helping hand extended... nope... just a get outta hear. Wait and see as this place collapses more and more and the very people that complain about it, but do nothing to help fix the problem, are also in it. We will see what they have to say then.
