SWAT Standoff in Brentwood Ends With 1 Dead 

On Monday, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office responded to E Sims Road in Brentwood which resulted in an hours long standoff after a man allegedly killed a female.
According to preliminary information, the standoff began around 4:00 pm when a woman was shot after an altercation inside the home-sheriff deputies also confirmed later they believed he had an AK47 ghost gun and other shotguns inside the home.
This prompted a standoff between the man and the Contra Costa County SWAT Team where they attempted for hours to get him to peacefully surrender.
During the standoff, as police negotiated, the man told the sheriffs department he had shot a female and she was laying on the floor and was “cold”.
