Stories are Magick. A channel dedicated to the exploration of vast collected lores, world-building, and the art of narrative storytelling across literature, comics, video games, and more
Wish there was more art for me to use for the video lol its harder and harder to find usable art online, and Order of the Terrible Glare only ever had like two pieces anyway lol but I'm very glad you enjoyed!
Woo! It’s crazy that we’re doing lore showcases for our worlds at the sand time, but I love it all the same. All the love from my weird little corner of the internet.
You should! There is actually some pretty good general lore for the region you can use as a scaffold to latch onto! You can share the stories at the Writers Circle if you'd like!
Hello could you make some more Kull and Conan video content please like the reccuring villains or creatures like the Ape Men or Serpent men and other creature videos please sir?!
Absolutely! All of that is planned and coming in the future. Drop a sub and hit the little bell so you get notified when they drop! But yes, lots more Conan and Kull coming. Starting with the Hyborian Age, but I will cover every nation, every god, all the Elder Races, it's all on the way my friend!
Hell yeah man thanks a lot. I seriously cut down my online presense last year or so. I had some weird people hanging around me, and they were influencing me in ways I didnt fully understand until recently. Kind of sent me for a loop, and I cut way way back on social media to get my shit together. Pretty much just reddit and here and my own personal tabletop Discord. Things have been better though, been getting my head on straight at last. So maybe I can rejoin, I think I can handle more of this online stuff without getting all twisted. Lol it's crazy man, but there really is a trick to protecting your mental well-being from social media. I'm at work right now, but when I get home I'll drop back in. Hope you're doing well, brother!
Note from Brutus Nemedicus, Scholar to the Royal Librarian: While Master Asclepius' scholarship is not to be doubted, his advanced age should not be forgotten. He mispronounced "Kordava" as "Koldova" several times here. A small mistake to make; may the annals of history forgive him this small slip at such a venerable point in his life.
Thanks a lot for the support and for being here! Youve been here since almost they very beginning! Very happy to have you, and I will work hard to make sure you stay entertained
Thanks a lot man and thanks for being here! Happy to hear you enjoy. Wish you all the best with your current health struggles. I know we dont know each other or anything, but I think about you from time to time. Truly hope everything is going for the best! And I wish you all the best on your Grimdark Star Wars rewrite! Happy to have you exploring the universe, my dude, it is a vast one well worth exploring. If it helps you for your videos, I use Star Wars Saga, the West End books, and the Essential Guides including Essential Guide to Warfare, Essential Atlas, Essential Guide to the Force, Jedi Code, Book of Sith, and a few others as my primary sources. You can get Saga and West End easily online if you haven't already. And the Essential Guides are just really great reads well worth the investment! They are all written as in universe books, so they can be as entertaining as they are enlightening!
Thanks a lot! And thanks for your support! Hope you continue to enjoy. I have thought about it. I've seen all the shows but I still feel woefully underprepared to tackle that lore compared to some of the more hardcore Trekkies. Maybe in the future!
It is good to see the artworks of the Imperial Warlords and Post EU characters I commissioned are being used in lore videos. Also a pleasant surprise to see Thrawn's Revenge mod screenshots in there. Making the EU more visible for new and old fans alike keeps the flame alive. That is also an incredible map of the various factions I should like to add to my own collection. A well done lore video, as a famous fellow from Naboo once said..., "We shall watch your career with great interest."
Good to hear from you!!! Really hope you are doing well!!! You know we've got two more audioplays cooking if you want in. Hit me up on Discord if you have the time and energy to get in on it!
Glad you enjoyed! Really love the cyberpunk genre, but Cyberpunk the game is a legit literary masterpiece. Ive got a playthrough here, check out Cyberpunk: The Nomad Story. Havent finished it, but theres enough there for you to get a sense for the story. I swear games have become movie equivalents in the last ten years
@@DarthMatusHolocron It's not much of a reward. The heat death is just a hypothesis and the Force rebels greatly against the dying of the light which is why the Sith and other dark cults throughout the galaxy were ultimately destroyed. Sometimes I wonder if they really thought it through. Maybe they wanted to create something in the dark once it was all gone or by that time? They had a civilization of their own, or something resembling it, from what I remember. What's the purpose in maintaining it when the only goal is to utterly destroy it? Nothingness can be reached through suicide and it's much easier than to do than by destroying the entire galaxy or Universe, which is even harder... A lot of questions are raised... 😅
The heat death is "just a hypothesis" the way gravity is though, my man. These days its the standard model, and things like the big crunch are long gone. But even if the big crunch or something similar was the case, everything will still end one day. No more experience, do not pass go, do not collect 100 dollars. The Sorcerers of Rhand are the personification of that moment. They do not have a civilization, for civilizations end. There are only about 30 of them, and each is a twisted, wretched abomination more terrible than the last. And each waits patiently for the end
@@DarthMatusHolocron If they're waiting they're not that destructive, are they? Are they immortal? How do those 30 or so people even tolerate one another? What is there to live for?
@@Charismaniac well that is the entire point, they dont have to do anything but wait. The Void is inevitable. It is all consuming. There is no avoiding it, and struggles in the face of it are meaningless. But its worth noting, they DID go on the offensive, twice. First time was Darth Nihilus' rampage. Second was the onslaught of Lord Shadowspawn. As for how they stand each other its highly implied they don't in the Saga sourcebooks. They do come together in conclave but only to entreat with outsiders who come to them. If I had to guess Id say they each follow their own agenda across their ruin of a homeworld, and that agenda is as unknowable as any other eldritch, Lovecraftian horror
FYI: Cronal and Shadowspawn were one and the same. As for Sukatee's audience with those four Sorcerers of Rhand? They sound like a Givin, a Shi'ido, a Swoke-Swoke, and a melanistic Gamorrean with too many pet morrts.
In both the EU, old canon and Disney Canon the Empire was a giant mess full of 'Old Boy' networks...mostly the rich and elite of the Core Worlds. Often at the expense of the Mid Rim and Outer Rim portions of the galaxy. Another commonality among the various canon's is that the people most invested and in charge of the Rebellion pretty much planned an end game where things just went back to how things were before Palpatine. Completely ignoring all the messes and very legitimate issues that led to his rise in power and the Clone Wars to begin with. The history of Star Wars in both the EU, Disney and other canon's is just one giant loop of the rich and powerful fucking around until things go to war....then once things settle down the rich and powerful just step back into the roles they had before and keep going on, business as usual.
@@DarthMatusHolocronPretty much. The only difference between the Old Republic, the Empire, and the New Republic was how public the various powers that be could act on their various unsavory tendencies
I actually mentioned them in History of the Force for the first time in the video that will be out next Wednesday! Finally have time to record it tomorrow morning. I'll likely do up close looks of individual political factions after I finish the History of the Force series. Its easier to zoom in on one spot after we've explored the full picture, but the nations of Star Wars will get this treatment one day soon
I'm far from a Howard scholar, if such thing even exists, but I don't think Nordheimers worship Odin and others, but Ymir, the father of the ice giants. Given that the two groups of the later Norse gods bear the exact same names as the two groups of the Nordheimers and waged a similar war against one another, I find it reasonable to assume that Odin, Freyja and like are supposed to be mortal Nordheimers who later began to be worshiped as gods by their distant descendants.
And I'm guessing you're a true Nord in Elder Scrolls? I have a huge soft spot for Stygians as an Egyptophile, but the northern nations are definitely some of the most flesh out. They are so detailed, you can almost taste the cold artic air and see how these people were living. Howard was truly a genius world-builder, and honestly you can see the ghost of inspiration when you compare Nordheim and Skyrim
That's one of the more famous modern examples! But Howard's work has influenced so much. Tolkein popularized Nordic aesthetic and culture in fantasy, but it was Howard that pioneered it. At least in the lense of 20th century and post-modern fiction

Wrirten by chat gpt; Title: The Chronicles of Hyperborea: Rise and Fall of Empires In the frost-choked reaches of the Arctic, where the shimmering auroras dance across the sky like ethereal warriors, lay the ancient civilization of Hyperborea. A land where blue-skinned beings, descendants of the Norse and Greek gods, forged their kingdoms amidst towering ice cliffs and endless snowfields. At the heart of Hyperborea stood its capital, Asgard, a city of magnificent spires and grand halls, ruled by the divine pantheon of Odin, Zeus, and their ilk. The blue people of Hyperborea were not alone in their domain; alongside them dwelled the fierce Vikings, their prowess in battle matched only by their reverence for the gods. But Hyperborea was not the only realm to grace the Earth's surface. Across the globe, other kingdoms flourished, each with its own unique culture and rulers. In the depths of the Arctic, the Frost Giants and gnomes toiled, while in the sun-kissed lands of Agartha and Atlantis, ancient civilizations thrived under the watchful gaze of their enigmatic leaders. Yet, amidst the splendor of these kingdoms, darkness lurked. The Huan Korean Empire, with its lizard overlords from Aldedachorus, coveted the power and riches of Hyperborea and its allies. With their advanced technology and insatiable thirst for conquest, they plunged the world into a cataclysmic conflict known as the Hyperwar. For nearly two millennia, the Hyperwar raged across the cosmos and the Earth's surface, consuming entire civilizations in its fiery embrace. The skies were filled with the thunderous roar of flying saucers, and the land trembled beneath the onslaught of atomic weaponry. In the midst of this chaos, the Finno-Slavic-Ionian Empire stood as a beacon of hope, wielding the ancient power of Vril bestowed upon them by the mystical energies of the Black Sun. With their psychic abilities, they fought fiercely against the Huan Empire and its reptilian masters, determined to defend their homeland at all costs. But as the war reached its climax, tragedy struck. Lemuria, the fabled kingdom of the seas, vanished without a trace, leaving behind only whispers of its fate. And Atlantis, seduced by its own hubris and lust for power, met its doom beneath the waves, swallowed by the ocean's depths. In a desperate bid to turn the tide of battle, Emperor Huan unleashed a devastating secret weapon upon the world. Its origins shrouded in mystery, the weapon wrought untold destruction, rendering the once-mighty empires of Hyperborea and the Huan Koreans to ruin. As the dust settled and the echoes of war faded into memory, Hyperborea sank beneath the Earth's surface, its secrets hidden within the depths of Agartha. And Shambala, the mystical kingdom of enlightenment, retreated into the heart of the mountains, awaiting the dawn of a new age. But legends whispered of a time when Hyperborea would rise again, when the Kali Yuga ended and the world was reborn. Until that day, the Chronicles of Hyperborea would endure, a testament to the triumphs and tragedies of a bygone era. Generations passed, and the world forgot the horrors of the Hyperwar, yet remnants of that ancient conflict lingered. Mutated creatures roamed the barren wastelands, and the ruins of once-great cities served as haunting reminders of the folly of war. But amidst the chaos, hope flickered like a lone candle in the darkness. In the hidden recesses of the Earth, the descendants of Hyperborea whispered of a prophecy, a prophecy foretelling the return of their lost kingdom and the dawning of a new age of peace and prosperity. And so, as the centuries turned and civilizations rose and fell, the tale of Hyperborea remained a beacon of hope for those who dared to dream of a better tomorrow. For in the heart of every warrior, in the soul of every dreamer, the spirit of Hyperborea lived on, waiting for the day when it would rise again and reclaim its rightful place among the stars.
Thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed! The credit should go to the cast first, they dedicated a ton of time and energy into making this happen. Stick around; we have more coming soon! And they will only get better as we go
