I'm over the Gio talk. He's been a ton of hype. Why? He came off the bench for NF a few times, who are in a relegation battle every year, and didn't do much. Idk how this is supposed to be "the best" US team when most don't start for their clubs, or their clubs are not great, or they're role players, not playmakers. Pulisic was a super sub at Chelsea and has looked great at Milan, but he's really the odd man out. Everyone else is expendable. Turner didn't even play all of last season for NF as well bc too many mistakes. The US at one point had like 4 solid GKs at once (Howard, Keller, Friedel, Hahnemann, Guzan). Now? Not even close.

Cindy parlow cone needs to be ousted! As head of USSF, both men's and women's teams woefully underperformed on the world stage. Oh wow, you got collective bargaining agreements... Great. WHAT GOOD DID IT DO? They still can't win! New leadership is needed at the very top!
The absolute arrogance around us soccer when the reality is we have Zero 0️⃣ reason to support them for they aren’t successful and highly overrated with a horrible manager and really just average players who are somehow called golden or above average 😅 and this as an American who loves futbal not soccer is just a poor look from all sides, embarrassing is just a microcosm of what the fans see. If you are in the Semifinals Canadian Fans today, kids parents families.. are happy not because of the beautiful soccer but because of the RESULT. No Fans celebrate the beautiful soccer, they enjoy it. The Happiness and celebrations come ONLY after winning.
If the USMNT can make it in 2026 to the semifinal of the World Cup like Canada did in Copa America yesterday, chances are we will see the US in the World Cup final, and then personally I don't care if we win it, but we can be in the final dreaming about winning it. 2014 the Semifinal between Brazil and Germany, one teen possessing the ball and the other is Germany scoring 7 goals on Brazil. I don't remember anybody saying Brazil was the better team in the match because of possession. This is Football (or Soccer) it has rules either you understand them or you're the loser Germany 4 world cups, almost the same style Italy also with 4 World cups and I guarantee you they haven't controlled any of those matches with possession. When the officials in the federation don't understand Soccer, they get swayed to thinking they can create an unbelievable national team that plays beautifully and beats opponents left and right. The truth is, Brazil with 5 world cups, won those world cup championships with hard work not with beautiful soccer. The Italians are always counter-attacking, always
No team cohesion. Other countries have more spirit and play in a culture where football is the top dog and not 8th place attention wise like in the USA.
I dunno, I thought they played great against Bolivia, the Panama game they lost their heads and lost, and yes there was little end product in the Uruguay game but they did a lot of good things on the pitch. I think we can’t fix everything that needs to be fixed for US men’s soccer to thrive but we can hire a legit coach and let him get the most of our this roster, because there is more than enough talent. Berhalter has to go, USMNT needs to step outside its bubble and take in ideas from somewhere else.

Canada and Venezuela are an embarrassment to soccer and a clown show that either of these teams can be in the semi-finals. Both teams stink on defense so you have alot of back and forth, but then they both don't know how to score a goal. Argentina set up with an easy trip to the final just when they are ripe to be knocked out.

I can tell Alexi doesn’t watch Canada. Finished ahead of the US and Mexico in 2022 World Cup qualifying. Played well in a tough World Cup group (Belgium, Croatia, Morocco). Now outplaying the US and Mexico in the 2024 Copa. Been the face of North America for 5 years now.
If Dest is what we are looking to as our best option you know our players are all mediocre. Dest wasn’t good enough to play in top level european clubs. FCB couldn’t give him away. None of the places he went to “on loan” wanted to keep him. So clearly we lack talent (with very few exceptions) to be able to compete. Not really a “golden generation”. Theres a lot of work to be done. Starting with the organizational structure.

I wasn't impressed by Argentina. Their tactics of near constant arguing and feigning fouls do not make for fun games to watch recently - seem to be making up for lack of flow and cohesion. Their saving grace is Martinez who is currently one of the greats in his position. I have been much more impressed by Columbia and Uruguay this tournament. Unless we see a fully healthy Messi, I don't see them winning it all...
