Ever since I was young,I'd always go hide in the dark bathroom during washing/drying cycles cause it helped me relax and forget the world outside the bathroom or the laundry room. With the advent of quiet models...I don't have a choice but to rely on YT so thank you very much for your uploads.
The bath mat resulted in a not-so-smooth spin cycle, but that still PROVES that at the end of the day, the old school washer wins. Unlike HE washers when they are unbalanced, they put out an error code, and start the cycle all over again - your whole paycheck out the window.
Preguntaba, “No tengo sueño” solía responder yo. Después solo tomaba un banco, lo colocaba al lado de la lavadora, me subía en el, cruzaba los brazos recostándome sobre lavadora, el ruido y la vibración hicieron su trabajo y yo me quedaba dormido 💤
My grandma had one when I was a kid. They were OK machines, the tramamission went after 10 years or so. Not as good as my current Whirlpool direct drive from 2000, 25 years and still going strong, but still tons better than today's stuff.
Excellent washing action!! Everything stays completely under the water for great cleaning! Excellent agitator!! Today the wash action is too slow and they don't clean!
My parents had a GE/Hotpoint much like this. They purchased it around 1993 or 94 I think. It although had a white slanted console with puffy square push- buttons like the Whirlpool Cleantouch, and a handwash system with the attachable bowl shaped dispenser. It still worked and sounded much like this machine here. Those sounds are nostalgic. It was replaced by a front loader in 2007 or so. As a teen I began to miss it and wanted it back badly but it was long gone for several years before. These videos bring back the memories though.
Now let me tell you, we use this almost every night for rest and relaxation. I'm so glad that we are not the only two that finds this soothing and isn't afraid to tell everyone too.. Good night and God Bless..
I'm really not surprised that their is other people that use this sound for sleep and gives me great serenity at the end of the day. Makes me calm, cool, and comfortable and I appreciate the postings..
My aunt got 18 years of service out of her old GE washer before the boot ripped and she decided to retire it . Not a bad run at all. Laundromats were full of them in the 70s.
