@@roamingventures if you do come to Alaska and want to push deep to the places most Alaska has never seen in person you may want to figure out a way to pull the top off. Plenty of regular places you can go that are amazing but if you want to go deep it will need to be lowered. There are plenty for sale here too. Maybe fly up and buy one and we will take you way out to a glacier or something spectacular.
It looks really nice and the guy restoring seems like a good guy - if i was doing that build id look at ways to raise the ceiling oof rather than just cutting a strip out the middle. If you plan on going to humid locations youd be surprised how much more tolerable it is witg some added airflow between your head and roof. 😅 One place tiny home and overland \ vanlifers alike would do well to steal ideas from for their builds are boat interiors. There you'll see how maximised space and storage options have been refined to a fantastic level not just for aesthetics but for function. Anyways thanks for posting and sharing ❤
I just finished my 6.5 turbo swap. It's good. I don't think it's duramax good but it's definitely an improvement. Biggest surprise is that the engine is quieter but the cab gets warm
@roamingventures I 100% typed thst before watching it 😅 I've been throwing this idea around for a while and I'm so happy I found your stuff. Only issue is I'm taller and a skylight won't help me. I'm playing with the idea of a pop up wedge with hard sides instead.
My 2000 M1043A2 is getting a '95 Cummins 5.9 6BT backed up by an '06 Allison 6-speed and out thru a NP205 x-fer case. Overall length comes up 1" or 2" longer than the stock drivetrain, but fits nicely. Only had to do a 1" body lift to git'er inare....(hate the look of body lifts, but haddabedun)...gonna hafta shave the oil pan a bout an 1.5" even at that to get belly protection on it without losing ground clearance. Oughta look stock but tow the sheet outta my 4-place at 80 and roast 37's with ease...Mwuhahahahahaha *6BT=bullet-proof + 525hp/1350ft-lbs *Allison=bullet-proof + double OverDrive NP205=bullet-proof + stock gearing (2.73/1meatball and 1.92/1portals = 5.24 overall) in low transfer you get 10.48/1 overall(not super granny low, but I'll take it)....aaaaaand it's been modified for dual stick (I.E. front or rear axle can be engaged independently...hi or low.....while keeping the interlock to prevent hi/low oopsies. Super simple mod too. Toss the Wrench did a 6.6 D-max in his, check his channel out. Edit: Luv the Hat bro!
Thank you for the insight! I really want to do the cummins, since I'm familiar working on them. Just the fit is what makes me nervous. How about I pay you to do it haha
@@roamingventures you have the most amazing and detailed build of this type anywhere in the world. The only issue I would have running it in Alaska is the height as many trails are full Of low hanging branches.
The Humvee is becoming a legend in Japan, as it is no longer seen in Japan due to issues with its width, maintenance costs, vehicle inspection fees, and fuel efficiency. Turning it into a camper shows that Americans are quick to think and adapt.
Very interesting job! You did a good job, everything was done neatly and efficiently. I only have a few questions: This “beast” eats a lot of fuel, what is the autonomy of this car? You made a full-fledged kitchen and a toilet block, which is good, but the sleeping space turned out to be a little small, don’t you think so??
Bravo 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰🥰🥰
