An English guy often staying and working in Moscow, Russia. Only daily lifestyle - the good, bad and interesting! No political discussion/opinion. I will also vlog from my travels to many other countries too, USA, Dubai, England and many more!
In Australia, rents close to the city are around $3,000 per month plus electricity, gas and water extra. We pay to visit the doctor around $80 per visit and food is extremely expensive also.
Why would you pay to see a doctor in Australia? I live in Sydney, I broke my big toe a few weeks ago, I went to the local GP who sent me off for X-rays, then back to the doctor again for treatment. It all (including X-rays) cost me not a cent
True! But you also have to add that an average family in most Russian cities has a 'dacha' ... usually a small (or a bigger) cottage in the country. And every Friday half of the city drive out to their dachas... and every Sunday they drive back. I'm going too... hope the jams won't be so awful...
Wow that’s cheap…in the U.S, I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA..you get a very nasty, dangerous unsafe area, with drugs, shooting…not safe for a woman to be out at dark, for over 1200.00 a month for that size apartment and you pay ur own utilities and that runs you close to 200.00 a month on top of the 1200.00 a month rent. It’s called low income areas for that starting price…it just goes way up past this…
Very nice and more room than I thought it would be. USA California Typical 2 bedroom apartment a relative pays over 2,000 a month with one bathroom between the bedrooms. Nothing fancy at all. Rent prices have gone up a lot after COVID Typical 3 bedroom home 1,500 to 1800 sq feet 450,000. Everything is high gas in California is the highest in the US 5.50 a gallon and will be going up soon as crazy as it sounds. Many food items since 2020 have tripled. And we don't have free medical unless you are very low income. My husband and I pay 1,000 a month for ours. Nice place you have for yourself. Wish you the best 🙂
I visited St Petersburg some ten years ago. I stayed at the Petro Palace Hotel (not a "palace" at all) located five minutes walking distance from the Hermitage. The Russian Taxi driver kept driving around, and around the area pretending not to find the hotel. Finally, he abruply stopped and he refused to release our lugagge and demanded we we gave him five (5) euros--plain extortion!! We had no other alternative--there were no policement in sight, and even if there were, what good would have been. I sure they good look the other way. The driver left us five long blocks away from the hotel. This driver got away with a scam I am sure he performes 365/7/24 to thousands of tourist Quite dishonest!! Most of the appartment buildings we saw--we didn't go inside any apartments--looked old, uninviting, neglected, full of grafitti every were, some of them looked abandoned and in desperate state of repair. Concierge service? Are you kidding me? A very, very different scenario this English man is presenting. Perhaps I was in the old, poor, por section of St. Petersburg? Who knows.
Great video my friend and I appreciate the honesty. I am sick at what my country has become (the U.S.). If I was younger I would consider leaving America. My ancestors came from Russia and I grew up with my Russian grandparents. Inlost my knowledge of the language when they passed away long ago.
Thank you very much for such a good view of a normal apartment in Russia . I am from America and I found this to be very interesting. I really learned a lot and I think the apartment is just like one that I grew up in New York city.
Price is very cheap compared to the USA but the condition of the flat is so poor compared to ours and no walk in closets, walk in showers, these apartments look very old. As I said the price is amazing but an average apartment is anywhere from $1200 to $2200 but they are brand new include at each complex pools, exercise rooms, rental rooms for special occasions. some even include free events for the renters, parties and food.
$700.00 Bucks for a 2 Bedroom Apartment including utilities, "Wow".. Thats cheap.... Compare that with a studio apartment in Brooklyn and compare ..Thanks for shearing ...
Im in the Uk and have always taken my shoes off when coming into the house. We were taught that as children, so at 73 years old, it’s as normal as breathing.😂
The video is very interesting👍 I don't like the flat very much. The rent sounds cheap as in Germany Cologne you would pay about 1700- 2000 per month. But as I learned in the comments, it isn't cheap for you as the average income is so low. People in Germany mostly have more personal things in the flat. Like fowers, candles, beautiful pictures on the wall, small lamps everywhere for cozy light, and so on. Of course, it's about how people grew up what they expect or wish for their homes.
I live in England and we always take our shoes off at the door, if visiting good friends we also have a pair of slippers kept there. I enjoyed this video thank you ☺️
I now see how spoiled I am as a homeowner in Canada. My mortgage was less than this rent but I bought my 2500 sq ft house (5000 sq ft lot) 25 years ago. I have a typical house for my city. We ALWAYS take our shoes off as well. Who wants to wear shoes in the house?? Gross and uncomfortable. The washing machine next to the tub is a new one for me. In Canada, the laundry rooms are typically in the basement or in a closet for apartments/condos. Master bathrooms and en-suites here have everything in them (tub, shower, sink, toilet) and the rooms with just a toilet, sink and sometimes a shower stall are called powder rooms or half baths. Most average homes have 1 of each. Healthcare is free in my city/province as well. Canada is a great place to live if the taxes don't kill you.
