Would you live here? How does the value/standard compare to the capital city of your country?

As a Russian-German who lives in Germany and has been to Russia (Moscow and Chelyabinsk) multiple times I can confirm everything this man says. And I can tell any foreigner who doesn’t know anything about Russia: this is exactly the most average apartment you can get. Russians don’t live poorly at all, even though many of the commentators say „bro, the average salary in Russia is only 800$ hurr-durr!!“ it does not matter. This country has infinite land, food, wood, gas, oil, water etc., which means everything is sooo cheap. They dont rely on anyone, they are doing just fine!

Wow, these apartments are the cleanest, a lift with no graffiti. Russian people take pride of their homes and outdoor spaces. Unlike the west. I'm proud of my Russian ancestry.

This is way better than those ugly modern boxes with no warmth and personal objects. This looks like a real cozy home! ~ I studied interior design for 5years and this apartment is far more interesting than most modern ones with a cold and lonely feeling. I’m sure the neighbours are warm and nice too!

Good value for money! It's triple that in Canada plus the cost of food and utilities here is insane. Young people can't afford to save enough money to purchase a home. I think it's by design in light of the push by the WEF mantra "you will own nothing and be happy".

Seperate toilets are common in Australia too.

Really nice flat. Square footage is incredible. Rooms are so large - in London they would turn each room into a separate flat!!! And you'd pay an absolute fortune for something like that in London. Chandeliers? With crystal glass? In rented flat?

everybody is saying these buildings are ugly and creepy, but I like it. It gives off a cold-yet-warm vibe. I'd honestly love to live here (if i had 💵haha). It would give me serenity to just stare out that window into the cold winter, and the repetitive brutal architecture that is so charmingly uninviting.

In Denmark it would cost around double. In older apartments, the toilet would be separated from the bath. But when renovating, they would definately combine,the two, if possible. But I tend to agree with you, that it would make sense to have them separated...

If owners of that flat are from USSR time it is high probability that they got this flat basically for free, or some ridicule low price. Similar was in former Yugoslavia (I'm from Croatia), although we never been under Warsaw pact, we had lot's of similarities. Lot's of flats from that era were basically gifted. But it was much depended where you were working. Young couple working in big perspective company meaning that they could easier get flat.

I taught English in Moscow in 2010. I shared a flat with a girl from Dublin in the Moscow suburb Prolotarskaya. It was quite a nice area. The flat we lived in was old fashioned but it had gushing hot water that filled a big bath, very warm in the flat and the block generally and I always thought the the gas on the gas cooker was a lot more powerful than here in UK. I have fond memories. Oh yes the utilities were very cheap. My salary was about $500 as rent was removed before we received the salary. I carried around a card that said ya ne poniyamoo po ruski- I don’t speak Russian, but I did pick up some phrases and learnt the alphabet.

Very fair price.

The space is really good and if the apartments are owned then a great deal could be done with them. Even renting they can be brightened with paint and low cost decorating accessories. They are a little drab as it is, but much of that has to do with overcast skies and covering up the windows.

I live in east London in 4 bedroom house paying £625 per month for this little room if I combine diesel, groceries, and all the necessities I require well over £1200 per month My earnings £ 1400 per month at the end of the month I m literally penny less

Rental price appears quite affordable...Back the days I used to live in London and was letting a room in one of the most dangerous ends on southern part of it...There was no Tube station nearby, just Overground in 15 min by foot. I paid over about 500 quid per month.

Russian culture seems very much like the Australian Aussie culture Aussies usually have separate toilet, laundry room and bathroom, having them together occurs in smaller 1 bedroom or granny flats.

Good video. Liked and subscribed. Compared to Montreal Canada a place like this would go between 3500/4500$ Canadian, being near the city center, and in the same state as this one. But that would be with no utilities included. Utilities heat, light and water would average on a monthly equal payment plan around 250/350$ Canadian dollars , not including phone, internet and able or satellite tv, which would cost around 300/350$ Canadian dollars monthly. So this place you showed would be an awesome deal and a beautiful place to live in.

One thing which really jumped out at me is the pavements (sidewalks) are clear of snow. When I lived in Germany in the 1970s and 1980s it was the same. Everyone pitched in and cleared the pavements. You were expected to clear the pavement outside your house or shop. For blocks of flats, there were rotas and we took turns. Also, back then in Germany, the toilet was always separate from the bathroom. Our washing machines used to be in the basement.

You can tell you are from a younger generation. I am from Canada, which we don’t have separate toilet to shower area but we often have a second toilet or powder room in our apartment. When I visited my aunt who lived in England, as a child, they always had the loo separate from the tub and sink. The toilet tank was high up and you pulled a chain. Rooms and houses were smaller than I was a custom to but I really loved that there was a toilet separate from where you have a bath. Thanks for the tour.🇨🇦

In Australia, rents close to the city are around $3,000 per month plus electricity, gas and water extra. We pay to visit the doctor around $80 per visit and food is extremely expensive also.

If you ask your parents, they will remember the days when the toilet in Britain was always separate and outside! Imagine doing your business in the winter in an unheated toilet!

In New York City that apartment “flat “ cost around $2000 or more depending on the area. It’s a very nice flat. Apartment.

I used to live in Athens Greece, living in a block similar to this but old, in a very dangerous neighborhood, and the apartments were 1/4 the size of this one. Old, dusty, tattered small places, housing families of 3-6 people. Try living like that with an €850 salary, where 70% of it goes to rent and bills. That is how 85% of Athens is. This apartment looks like a dream to me.

First apartment has a lovely & spacious kitchen! Actually it seems like most of the rooms are good size. Nice having that balcony area for fresh area and if you could capitalize on that extra space and convert it into real living space. That would be an extra bonus. In the US the toilet, bath tub and sink are all in the same room.

Thanks for the detailed review. First time visiting your channel. The buildings are much bigger than I expected. How many flats are there on average in each building? You said 4 per floor ,but that doesn't make sense to me given the length of the building from the outside? It's good to hear about the neighbourliness of people. The net curtains remind me of London's windows 😀. Is there only one central entrance and exit point? That would worry me both from a safety and convenience point. Are there neighbourhoods of houses. I love that these are low crime. In Canada esp in winter we always remove our boots/ shoes when we enter the house. Although I notice that it's becoming less common . Sorry about all the questions.😊

I live in São Paulo, Brazil and after a quick search I was able to find a few options with slightly similar characteristics. But, in neighborhoods that are good, calm, but far from the most popular ones. You can get a flat near tge metro also, perhaps a bit more expensive, or plenty of offers at a bus + metro distance. Prices increase steeply if searching for a popular or better located area. São Paulo is a big city with its challenges, but it is a great city, I like living here. Great video, TY

thank you so much for posting this information, i rent in UK where prices are already very high as you know... grrrrr , since november i got 150% increase in rent.. but nothing more to show for it except the ''market forces making more profits for thems🤯elves'' people cannot afford their homes here anymore. cost of living has become GRIMM and petty crime is at an all time high, meanwhile our toxic politicians keep increasing price of accomodation, food, petrol, gas, electric, taxes, council taxes '' the list goes on and on'' Russian prices are very reasonable.. and actually i really like the community values they have there in that apartment block.. rent very reasonable... and clean, with less fear of crime.. i would like to live there.. hmm 🤩🤩

I'd just like to clarify something; the country's real estate market has evolved and now has 4 classes of real estate: budget, usually panel houses, including modern ones built by the likes of Pik. Comfort-class, brick houses built on reinforced concrete frames, better sound insulation, underground parking etc. Business class, same as the prior but with a concierge, taller ceilings etc. And then you've got the elite segment, but that's reserved for fancy buildings in city centers.

When you factor in the utilities and free health and dental care, that's cheaper than where I live in a very small New England, US city. I love the separate wc and wash room, it's such a cleaner and more pleasant layout. It's probably more expensive to have installed though, unless the rooms are next to each other so the plumbing is in the common wall. I also love the "no outdoor shoes inside" habit as well as removing work clothing and swapping to "indoor outfits", such a nice way to live

Herein San Diego, California, this place would easily go for $2,000 to $4,000 USD a month.

I am from the US and found this apartment very pleasant--One difference is the separate toilet and sink in the beginning of the video---Here that is specific for guests so they do not have to use the bedroom bathrooms that are more private I expected smaller spaces and you did a very informative video---well done and thank you In Calif that apartment would be a minimum of 1,800.00 per month

In the UK some of the older houses were 2/3 storey built with a separate bathroom with sink, separate toilet with sink, 2/3/4 bedrooms, front living room, back living room, kitchen, utility room. These house designs are much more practical than later designs which were based upon increased financial profit and maximising the number of houses on less land. Such as for example at a later date from around the 70's the bathroom incorporated the toilet, kitchen incorporated the back room (kitchen/diner), or the living room and back room wall was removed to create an extended large living room sometimes incorporating sliding doors to section the room when needed, not very practical, design flaws, less room space and further negative elements and issues.

why is there a "balcony" in the bedroom? 🇨🇦 here. We often have "a powder room" (just a toilet & sink, near the front door) & a full bathroom near the bedrooms, if you're super lucky one bedroom will even have its own on suite bathroom. Looks very clean Thank You.

A 464 sq ft in my 40 yr old Vancouver BC building starts at $2654 per month plus hydro plus $25 for a locker plus $100 a month parking.The higher floors go up in price per floor. Medical is covered but dental is extremely expensive. Really appreciate your detailed information.
