Hi jurijs.. i am a big fan of your pinnatifida on rock project.. i don’t know how much time I watched these videos.. i have a dream to make one.. love from india.. ❤❤
This is cool but... 3:10.... this is advanced shit. I just went into crisis mode and almost broke my filter because I didn't know this. The whole process was a fucking nightmare. Couldn't get my in/out to seal properly and almost broke the latch because I didn't understand. Filter started overflowing water everywhere and created a syphon sucking water from my tank and onto the floor and almost onto the power strip. I like these filters but.... Not for the uninitiated.
Thank you for the video. I have a few questions. Do you fill the water directly into the aquarium? If so, how do you handle the fact that the water is cold? And how do you accurately measure the amount of water you are adding to then add the necessary proportion of salts for remineralization?
When adding RO from filter directly to the Aquarium, a small temperature drop can occur but is no big deal for most fish and shrimps. Make sure yours can tolerate it. To find out water temperature after the water change you multiply the amounts of water with their temperatures and sum up both numbers. Divide by total amount of water and you have your new temperature after the water change. In reality it will be above that as cold water will gradually heat up during the refill process. As for the minerals there is two ways. Either visually guessing or actually measuring the amount of water you remove from the system. This is the water you need to remineralize afterwards. This doesn’t require testing. Or you can refill the aquarium with RO and measure your new gh. afterwards you remineralize the total water volume to fill the gap to your target value. I’m using APT sky minerals and they come with a super handy calculator on their website. Go to www.jurijs.link/apt to check it out. If you want to give it a try, use code “Jurijs” for 15% discount. @@JurijsJutjajevs Thank you so much. You have been very helpful, and this will significantly improve my life. I have four aquariums, two with 40 liters and two with 90 liters. To change the water, I start filling buckets a few days before maintenance, which takes a lot of time and turns my house into a mess. Now, I am planning to set up a 300-liter aquarium, and the thought of the upcoming maintenance was terrifying. I don't have space for a water storage tank, but this system will be a lifesaver for me. Thank you again so much💚
I just bought my first African Water Fern and have read so far they are slow growers, no doubt like the usual Java Fern. So if you cut one down to the rhizome like in the video, won't it take FOREVER for it to reach the original size he started with?
If it’s submersed leafs, don’t cut them. If they are emersed, they will die off anyway. Ferns are slow growing yes, but once all leafs removed they used the stored energy in the rhizome to quickly produce new leafs as they need them to make photosynthesis
Wow- this looks s gorgeous!! Is this really a retirement home too ? It’s so good to see people thinking of spaces for older people in terms of inspiring , beautiful spaces that people can flourish in . 😮😊
Wow, I love this scape, too Much, Sir, Dragon Stones are one of my favorite hardscape all time, Sir, This is epic after planting is finished Sir, for this scape Rummy Nose or Burmese Rummy Nose will be very Good Sir, Thank You So much for sharing this Video Sir
I have started a 44 gallon with ADA Amazonia. Ammonia is through the roof as expected, nitrates are at 30 and no nitrites. I have been adding ADA bacter 100 to get the beneficial bacteria. I have been changing the water and replacing it with RO water. I am injecting CO2 but the tissue cultures all died and I lost $300 worth in plants. The tank is at 5.4 pH even though I am replenishing the water with minerals. Instead of a nice planted tank, I have an algae farm. Can I just stop the madness and just leave the water in the tank, stop the CO2 and turn off the light? add beneficial bacteria and wait for the tank to cycle or is it too late?
Yes, do like you said, but make sure to remove all plants first, and do 1 large water change to get rig of as much gunk as possible. Oh and give your filter a quick clean. Afterwards leave it as is for 4 weeks without light. Just top off evaporation with pure RO
