Philippians 2:10-11 "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, wanted no one to die, so He gave His life so that anyone who believes in Him can have everlasting life. Romans 10:9 "because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - NET
I am devastated by this betrayal. Lawson has not repented because he would have continued with woman had not her father confronted him. The father allowed Lawson to go to his church confess but the father must have much information that should be exposed. The father is trying to protect his daughter’s reputation and hoping that his child will run from this man.
This comment just goes to show what happens when you have no intellectual response to an argument- you go to insults. Please do not comment again especially with something so rude.
He got behind the pulpit holding the Bible telling us how to live! We don't know if he is even with his wife. Thank you saying this. He was wrong.Quit defending himm!!!!
Of course Lawson can open the Bible again and teach from it. Let’s hope it’s in tears and in years to come when he can perhaps lead a men’s small support group for those who struggle w sexual sins and broken family relationships. Not a pastor, but still a humble servant in a church which would welcome him and lovingly restore him. May Steve and his wife Ann find a safe place to begin to be honest, be rightly angry, be grieving together … whether or not they stay together. My guess is that Ann has hidden a lot of loneliness for many more years than the last 5 years. Young man, Isaiah, you have a LONG ways to grow in compassion and relationships.
Yes, this was a great shock!! I have followed SL for over 10 years! I have his books, and videos and watched all his classes etc. He introduced me to the NASB. I even bought a fountain pen! He also introduced me to the puritans and Jonathan Edwards, whom I love. Like ST I have his picture on my wall in my office. These are treasures that SL has given me and I will always be thankful. I have cried and cried because there is no way I would have ever thought this man would do something like this. But he is God's child and against Him has he done this evil. I will pray for him and his family. But I must dry my eyes and watch myself because but for the grace of God, go I. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you I'm a black woman.
Perhaps it wasn’t the whole 5 years. Maybe it started out as Counceling and over the years morphed into romance. There are scenarios in the which he may have not had actual physical relations with her.
No, it was confirmed that the romantic relationship was over five years. There was no morphing. These are details that are confirmed. We may hope the best, but sadly in this situation the worst did happen. :(
I question whether John MacArthur fits this qualification criteria too. A few years ago he was exposed publicly and shamed for openly supported a congregant who had committed the serious criminal offence of domestic violence against his wife and sexually abused their daughter - a man who ended up going to prison for 21 years, which is a very long time for this type offence (and reveals the gravity of the offence too). That also shows an astonishing lack of judgement not worthy of a leading Pastor. Like all Celebrity Pastors, they end up becoming arrogant, untouchable and revered by misguided loyal followers who become nothing other than an idol-loving fanbase who won't hear a bad word said against these pastors, even when the evidence plainly shows them to be at fault.
I agree, MacArthur handled that situation terribly. I think he's still supporting him in prison (?) I would never go to a megachurch, let alone MacArthur's.
@@isaiahwlongnice! I’m a member of St. Andrew’s. Just got out of the men’s conference not long ago. Maybe I’ll see you around church sometime, keep up the good work!
Check out President Bill Clinton and his relationship with Monica Lewinsky. You might find some interesting parallels. And some great whoppers from President Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton
Steve and the girl said no fornication but that is hard to believe after 5 yrs there wasnt some type of it as i would think they would of met alone at least once.
@@tornadofreaks5744 Then why was the relationship in the dark. Why was it hid from his church and the elders. Why didn't his wife know etc. Steve stop it. You truly think we are stupid. Saying that makes it worse for you. Your flesh is not different then anyone else flesh.
I’ll telya this. I was single, divorced actually, 45, and a 19 year old gal from church I was alone with at dinner, came to my house a few days later and literally stated her desire to “be with me.” Do you think I turned her away?
It is a grave thing when a minister of the Lord falls into sin. May he repent and as well the young lady from their sin and idolatry. I pray the Lord would strengthen Mrs. Lawson.
The woman’s father made him go to the Church elders and confess or he would do it. He was trying to force the end of a sexual relationship which Lawson, and the daughter WANTED to continue.
Brother I think you know very well that the difference between superlapsarianism and infralapsarianism is not Jesus being plan A or plan B, but about whether God can judge a man as undeserving of salvation or meriting damnation, before or after considering their sin. Superlapsarianism teaches that God predestines men to damnation before considering their sin. The traditional view of infralapsarianism teaches that God elects men to salvation, before consideration of good works, but after considering their sin, and also predestines others to reprobation (damnation) after the consideration of their sin, i.e. they are already guilty. I do not accept superlapsarianism because I do not believe that God could damn people before considering their offences.
@@ethanmcculloch5814 That's just not true sir. That is a straw man. And don't ever, ever infer that I am blatantly lying. That is so dishonest on your part.
@@isaiahwlong I'm not saying your dishonest, I am saying that your defense of superlapsarianism is not referencing it's principle critique from the reformed tradition.
Charles Hodge: Systematic theology vol II, Part three Soteriology, chapter 1 the plan of salvation, part 2 Superlapsarianism First, the supralapsarian scheme. According to this view, God in order to manifest his grace and justice selected from creatable men (i.e., from men to be created) a certain number to be vessels of mercy, and certain others to be vessels of wrath. In the order of thought, election and reprobation precede the purpose to create and to permit the fall. Creation is in order to redemption. God creates some to be saved, and others to be lost. My question is, how can God judge somebody justly for damnation before the consideration of the fall?
Josephus the historian records that the Jews who went to see John the Baptist were fully aware that water itself does not wash away sin. Tradition is the same thing Pharisees loved.
