Hello. This channel is to share some old sport video clips which have been taken off old VHS tapes that I have. The sound and image quality of a lot of the videos is not great as a result. I do not own the rights to the material and this channel is not for any profit. It is simply to share some historic sporting clips, mainly cricket, rugby league and rugby union. In most cases I do not have full games, just short highlights or clips of specific moments in the games shown.
Wonderful innings played by Ian Smith. I like his batting style. His batting style looks very good and nice. This is very old innings but old is gold. Old innings never come back again. Ian Smith played well against India. Ian Smith scored only 2 centuries in the test match. This is the 2nd century for Ian Smith. He scored the first century against England. I enjoyed this video. The Barbarians team had brilliant players of the time in the line up whose names are folklore in SA. Gareth Edwards,Barry John, Duggan, Mike Gibson etc . The Springboks played extremely well to win this game which seemed a more serious affair that Barbarian games nowadays. On face value it was regarded as an additional test in those days.
Sa only won 3-1 against NZ because of the SA refs who were the worst since they've had neutral refs SA record is very poor which makes me wonder how many series NZ would've won in SA if they had neutral refs not to mention no colored players allowed in SA pre 90 so they never played the best

Fuck'n Bradley Clyde what a gentleman, what a champ. One of the best players to ever strap on boots. Shame he was held back with his injuries. He was a gentle giant in on the field, a fair and honest competitor.

Right, so everything except for New Zealand's magnificent 4th innings chase of 324/5 to win by 5 wickets with their highest ever successful 4th innings chase to this day thanks BA Young, 120 and SA Thomson, 120* and their 200 odd partnership after being in trouble at 4 down for less than 100. It was a fabulous partnership against a superb bowling attack and one of New Zealand test cricket's great moments, so just show us the first three innings? Great.
